Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:
The Hou-Zi was once a species of monkey. Like any other primitive species they were unable to make fire, tools and so forth. The primitive monkeys were clever and quick, they also knew how to hunt in a group, This was a worthy candidate for the Daemon Mertzli. The Daemon Mertzli approached the Alpha monkey giving him great intelligence that was on par with the descendant races. Later she would grant this intelligence to all the Monkeys thus began the Hou-Zi race. With this intelligence the Hou-Zi developed very fast, in four years they had constructed their own palaces made out of stone and jade.
After 50 years, Jing-Taiyun, The capital of the Hou-Zi civilization had been built. With their new intelligence the Hou-Zi created a complex society. Hou-Shen and his sons- Hou-Wang, Hou-Da, and Hou-Xiao built a top tier society. ruling from the Jade-Monkey throne in Jing-Taiyun. Underneath them was the Ruling Council of Chi. The Ruling Council was made up of twelve Hou-Zi lords.
During Axios the Hou-Zi fought a war against the elves, the Hou-Zi won the war expanding their land. The Second time they went to war with the elves the Grand Elven Alliance formed, with all the elves fighting together the Hou-Zi stood no chance and almost led to their extinction. They lost all their land except their homeland which was low on resources which led to fighting between the Hou-Zi, causing the Jade wars that ended when the Hou-shen left. This left the Hou-Zi to disappear and they haven’t risen since.
There are three sub-races
Laobai-Zi
The Laobai-Zi are the most common of Hou-Zi sub races. They were found all over the empire. They had fur usually in shades of brown and came in all shapes and sizes, the Laobai-Zi are the shortest lived and usually lives to be around 80-100 years old
Fei-Zi
The Fei-Zi resemble baboons, being by far the most colorful of the Hou-Zi species. They usually grow to be around 5’ to 6’ feet in height and lives to be around 150-250 years old
Hei-Zi
The Hei-Zi most closely resemble silverback gorillas, almost always having black fur. The Hei-Zi are the strongest of the sub-races also having the longest lifespan of about 250-300 years
