Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

a Revenant a newborn Ghosts

Revenants: These are your gray, newly awakened spirits. They came from the dead recently, and are confused and oblivious to their death. Revenants are transformed into one of the other two types once they either come to terms with their death, and usually only focus on figuring out their death. Once we find that out, we can do something called 'Geistreach', where we drain others' emotions and spiritual essence. This has 2 forms, one with, and one without OOC consent. The one with consent is more efficient than that which is without consent. These spirits are made of ectoplasm, an incorporeal soul-essence, though they have little control over it, both their mind and spirit still shrouded in the mysteries of death. Revenants are confused and hesitant beings, unsure of what, and they are prone to emotional outbursts.

Specter (peaceful version) These are the spirits that, after performing Geistreach enough times, come to terms with their death, accepting their demise and moving on. They tend to be more elusive and shyer, though selfless and caring in nature, often doing things they might not have in their lives. Most specters leave the mortal realm a lot earlier than other spirits, being able to weave their ectoplasm as they wish. They may take up a physical form now, and they can quite easily hold and carry things.

- Specters cannot learn, use, or teach magic, alchemy, etc.

- Specters require a valid creature application order to be played. 

- Specters possess a lingering aura of somberness and ease that trails around them in a five-meter radius, felt by all mortals in that area to no mechanical/RP detriment.

- This effect is amplified within their sanctuary, to no detriment/benefit.

- Specters are incorporeal and cannot wear armor of any kind, nor wield weapons.

- For purposes of combatting other spectres, specters exist in a “physical state” equivalent to whatever they had held in life - no greater than that of a human knight.

- By comparison to Wights, Eidola, and Apparitions, when interacting physically with them, all regular Phantom types are notably physically weaker.

- Specters receive no benefit from medicine, alchemical concoctions, etc.

- Specters cannot become other creatures unless stated otherwise.

- Specters are explicitly incompatible and unable to pick up all forms of magic or feats (voidal evo, alchemy, etc,) with the notable exception of Mysticism related augmentation, enchantments on items, and so forth.
