Joking aside, I honestly do think Skippy is very well suited for this position. The roleplay I have seen him perform reflects an ability to meet and go beyond the expectations of this Event Team.

You notice ahead of you, near the pond of the Sanctuary center, a folded up, semi-crumpled piece of parchment. Picking it up, a faint, almost illegible writing is still drying in a bled-through blue ink. The strokes are smooth and flowing, despite being difficult to read. Slowly you piece together what the paper said. Those who arrive later and are curious enough stand behind you to read it or listen to you recite the letter. Can you specify both 'may' and 'harm' in this situation. For one, I know there are certain sites to which when linked could use up a lot of bandwidth (which could be harmful), and also I know that there are many sites that might not have the software required to fight viruses or other malware on their own, which means if the person clicking on the link were to not have Virus Software could be potentially infected (which is pretty much the case on any website of the Internet).

How will harm be defined, and how will you determine if it 'may cause harm'. Is it with the intention of harming, or just a website that seems suspicious? This rule seems a bit vague.

Forgot the poll, fixed now. and I believe that in heavy rp OOC should be handled elsewhere, nothing ruin my rp more than seeing brackets nonstop. Usualy this option is used for small rp's like mine and kanrath's rp in the redstone lab. Spoilers seems like it could be a good idea though.

Yes, those constant brackets are the reason Vaq implemented L-OOC into local chat, allowing you to speak OOCly to those near you, while looking distinctly different allowing you to view the RP much more cleaner and organized. I believe this situation is the same. OOC is needed if RP is to be as accurate as possible. If ((this is seen as a problem by many players, perhaps we should adopt a rule that..))

Also, I don't believe there should be a forum thread that allows no OOC of any kind. There are numerous situations where OOC in a thread is useful, where everyone who reads needs to be aware of the OOC. Personal questions could be PMed, but there are things multiple people must know at once which makes OOC in-thread useful. If anything, they could keep it to spoilers to keep the forum feel clean, however I do not believe there should be a "Hardcore" thread for RP.

If you want to code this be my guest lol. Would take me an hour or so and would confuse users; this is just a minimal adjustment, and it works 99% of players :P.

Idea, perhaps you could set how your text should be identified as OOC? For example,

/looc beginning >

/looc inclusive [ 

#or

/looc inclusive [,]

#seperated by a comma so as to add multiple at once

/looc remove >

/looc defualt

would resort back to default L-OOC activation.

This way it could work to people's preferences and not force everyone to break habit. And allow them to remove certain triggers in case they use them in RP chat and it messes them up.

Still, I'm a beginner java user but I understand everyone would probably end up needing their own set or similar to store these triggers, which may or may not rack up a considerable ammount of memory. But considering we have a whole skillset unique to each player, it probably wouldn't be too big.

But that's just a suggestion, could possibly be useful.

I know I have often misspelled something badly in roleplay and had the need to correct it. This will be really nice as now I can do "<*the" and it won't be distracting~ Thanks for this so much Vaq!

Edit: upon testing I have noticed several things that I am slightly concerned about. One, only < works for OOC. Perhaps we could add >?

Second the color being grey, I might get confused with WS chat and/or tells. I haven't had much experience with it, but between WS chat especially it is easily confused with other chats, as I am not always paying attention to the tags, rather than the words.

Anyway, I would say that since Kha roleplay isn't very common as it was (and even then it wasn't extremely common), so if you're looking for variety that would be an interesting choice.

But in the end, what you want as your character matters the most. Do what you believe will create the most fun in roleplay for you and those your roleplay with.

((This was an RP post turned to 4/5ish pages of bickering. It honestly ruins the whole feel of it all. Imagine new players reading through RP posts and seeing these kinds of threads, and thinking "Wow, if this is what the server is like, maybe I don't want to play on here." I'm really tired of this. 4 pages...))
