  1. *A series of crumpled pieces of parchment are pinned throughout Ivybend. The handwriting is messy and imprecise. The notes read as follows:*

To our dearest friends, the Halflings,

Due to the disrespect we were shown and the generally rude attitude you displayed towards us we have been forced into taking action.  We have taken two of your own and shall be keeping them with us until the following actions are taken:

    1. The leadership of your people must apologize for the mess they have made

    2. 500 minas are payed to us to cover the living expenses of the two Halflings we currently have in our possession

If these actions are not taken the consequences will be severe.  Your friends will be killed and we will burn and pillage your lands.  It is unfortunate that you have backed us into such a position, but you have left us with no other options. Will and Amelia deeply miss you all. Seek us out when you are ready to talk.

  2. If you haven't already I would suggest checking out Denzel Curry.  His songs are influenced by Raider Klan and Spaceghostpurp and some of them have a bit of a trap sound, and his flow is pretty nasty. You can listen to his first album here:

Robb Bank$ is another south Florida artist that is up and coming that I really enjoy. His mix tape Calenders is pretty rad:

If you want something a little more mellow, Flatbush Zombies, Pro Era, and the Underachievers are nice.

  3. MC Name: XxPhogxX

    RP Name: Xanroq

    Age: 20

    Biography:

Xanroq was born in Anthos to a pair of Orcs that were generally regarded as outcasts in Orcish society. His father was an old witch doctor that most Orcs regarded as crazy; he had lived through Aegis and been deeply affected by the Undead and Iblees.  He respected the boundless power which those that served Iblees seemed to be able to wield and became secretly fervent in his worship of Iblees.  Thus, Xanroq grew up being told stories of the greatness of the Iblees, and he himself has grown to have a great respect for Iblees too.

When Xanroq's father died he set out into Anthos to try and make a name for himself within the Orcish community.  Because of the way he was raised he too has thus far been considered an outcast.  He has heard rumors of the Kaxil Clan's resurgence, and the views that they hold, however and now seeks them out to join them.

Notes: I remember always seeing/hearing about the Kaxils back in Aegis and I would love an opportunity to roleplay as one.

  4. I think the droprate needs to be raised for iron. In the past I have mined out the entire room without getting a single drop.

EDIT: After furthur "investigating" it seems to me that the current droprate for iron is somewhere around 16-20% and to me it just seems far too low, especialy given that there are only 9 possible blocks.

  5. Heinrich sighs loudly as he spies yet another piece of Dwarvern propaganda.

"The enemies of Oren cower behind printing presses and blatant lies because they are scared and know that they are no match for the armies of the Empire. War cannot be won with pretty pictures and words, and in the end this war will be decided with blood and steel, not ink and parchment."

  6. Heinrich nods sadly as he hears of the Lord Blackmont's death. He is at a loss for words.

((I used to hate you, but then I found out you were a pretty cool dude. No matter if I was fighting against you or with you, I always had fun. I hope you find success in life.

  7. Heinrich is confused by what he has heard. The Teutons preach that the Blackmonts and Rose are evil men, but he knows this to not be true. In fact, Heinrich believes that the real villains are the Teutons themselves.

"The Teutons wish to make it seem as if they are squeaky-clean knights fighting for people, but this is not true. More than once have Teutons marched into Kralta and slaughtered innocent peasants. More than once I have seen Teutons run innocent children through with their blades. There is no greater evil in this world than the Teuton. I can only pray that the good people of Salvus are strong enough to resist Teuton brainwash scheme."

  8. Heinrich looks around at the bodies of the fallen Sariants, Shields, and Greens and smiles. As cries of false victory ring out from the walls of Castle Greywyn, Heinrich only has one thought,

"It seems the Hochmiester has brainwashed the Teutons to the point that even in obvious defeat they can claim victory. They are like spoiled children. How sad."

  9. Heinrich stands in the main hall of the Carrion's keep. He looks out over the village and frowns. The strelts had been speaking of rumors of total war against the Teutons. If the rumors were true, Heinirich was ready. It quickly dawned on Heinrich that the village would need expanding; many more hovels would be needed to accomodate the former Tetuons that would be falling under House Carrion as strelts. Heinrich's frown quickly turns into a large smile. It would be a fun war indeed.  Crow over Cross, Peasant over Knight. Carrion Stronk.

  10. Dimitri wanders through human lands with nothing but a small rucksack at his side. As he stumbles upon the note at Father Edward's manor he takes a moment to read it. After reading he produces a crumbled piece of parchment, ink well, and feather from his sack. He then procedes to scribble his application in basic handwriting that looks almost childlike in nature. After finishing his application he attaches it under the original note and heads to the nearest inn to await the response.

    Your Name: Dimitri

Tell us about yourself ((Short Biography)):
I was born in the early reign of Godfrey. My parents were and still are farmers that help cultivate the land outside of Arethor. As such I grew up in a poor house and we never had much. From the time I was able to walk, I aided my parents in cultivating the land. We often ate only one meal a day and I received no formal schooling. Everything I know was taught to me by the Church during and after the weekly masses my family attended.

As I grew older the crops stopped growing and my parents became more desperate. By the time I grew to seventeen years of age, my parents had become indebted to the local count to the point that they would never be free of the debt. With this in mind I decided to set out to new lands in search of fortune. The reason I am applying for this guard position is two fold: firstly I wish to generate coin to send home to my parents and secondly I wish to return the good-will the church has given me over the years by serving in its defense.

Why you want to join?: I wish to serve the Creator through service in this guard.

What you want to achieve: I only wish to serve the Creator well, and make enough coin to support my family.

    Reims Guard Oath:

I Dimitri pledge my blade to the Holy Bishopric of Reims, and to serve and protect the land which the Creator hath blessed. I swear upon the Holy Lorraine Cross that I will follow the Church of the Faith's teachings faithfully and dutifully, I will attend Mass every Elven Week and show respect to members of the Clergy and fellow defenders of the Bishopric of Reims.

  11. What made Dain leave?

I left because there is a significant amount of OOC pressure on the Hochmiester.

When I became Hochmiester I assumed that roleplaying in the Order would continue to be as fun as it had always been, but I was wrong. As the Hochmiester I was trying to create fun RP for everyone in the Order by starting conflicts with other factions because many of the Sariants were complaining about being bored. These small conflicts got out of hand and a number of people in Oren, including Sariants, became upset with me OOC for things that had happened IC. I don't come on this server to have people yell at me in OOC, I come to have fun and RP with my friends. I don't need for people to yell at me for things that happen in a game. This, coupled with the fact that Mirtok, who was banned at the time and still is, was also attempting to control how roleplay happened through OOC means also turned me off from wanting my character to be the Hochmiester.

As such I decided that being Hochmiester was not something that I wanted to pursue because the OOC stress and apparent responsibilities make it so that RP is no longer fun. I hope this answers your question.

  12. Dain stands in the small sand pit in the new Teutonic Order fortress. The Hochmiester's helmet sits at his feet. The Sariants of the Order stand around him, eagerly awaiting his speech. Dain clears his throat, quieting the room.

"Sariants of the Teutonic Order... Due to the recent events in the Empire, I have had a realization of sorts. I will be blunt in my explanation, Sariants, but please do not hate me for my honesty.

The Emperor has thrown us aside, lads. The Rose are his new play things. I realized this when I was shot in the street by one of the Rose and nothing was done about it. This information, along with the fact that the Emperor allowed for Sariants to be attacked and killed by the Rose during the siege of Fort DeNurem and nothing was done about it, has lead me to this conclusion. We have lost our status as the elite of Oren. We are nothing more than common soldiers, worthy only of being practice for the Rose.

As we have been abandoned by Godfrey, I have come to a second conclusion. The Emperor is no God. He is only a man. For if he was God, he would not have left us to die. We served him without question and with fervor for so many years, and this is how he has repayed us. A God would have taken care of his chosen people, but not Godfrey. Godfrey is no more than a man with a crown looking for the group he can manipulate to do his bidding.

As I look at the facts laid before me, I have made a decision. I am resigning from the position of Hochmiester and from the Teutonic Order as a whole. I relinquish all of my power to HochLieter Mirtok.

Brothers... I pray that you do not hate me for the choices I make. I am going to forge my own path in this world, free of manipulation. I shall do what I please. But before I go I urge you all to consider what you are doing with your lives. I have thrown much of my life away in service to Godfrey. I have slain many men in his name. I hope that you all have the courage to decide whether the path you are taking in life is your own or someone elses. With that, Brothers I shall leave you. I wish you all the best of luck in whatever path you choose with your lives. Goodbye."

Upon finishing speaking Dain walks out of the room and out of the fortress. The Hochmiester's helmet sits in the sand.

  13. The sun begins to set over the top of the mountains. Dain stands inside Fort DeNurem, watching the Sariants outside pile Orc bodies. The mutants had just attempted to siege the fort, and they had failed. The battle had been hard fought. The Sariants were outnumbered, but, as always, it did not deter them. With superior tactics and organization the Sariants had beaten back the green horde, even going as far as making the Orcish Rex flee from the battle as if he were a child. Dain smirks, he had begun with a victory.

A few moments later Dain makes his way to the yard of the fort. He steps onto a small stack of wood. As he stands, the Sariants begin to amass in front of him, awaiting his words. Dain clears his throat loudly before speaking.

"Brothers, today we have won a great victory. The mutant hordes attacked our little piece of land hoping to desecrate it and take it for their own. Luckily His Holiness the Emperor gave us the strength to prevail and slaughter them like the mutant filth they are. This is a day of great achievement, men. But this is also a day of great sadness."

Dain then takes a moment to compose himself before speaking again. He looks at the Sariants that surround him. Maur, Erik, Eldak, Jon, Tadok; his Brothers.

"It is with a heavy heart that I deliver this news. Mirtok has decided that his time as the leader of our most illustrious Order has come to an end, at least for now. His many years of leadership have taken a toll both physically and mentally. Mirtok needs time to recover and recuperate. I ask that you all pray for his quick recovery and his return to Hochmiester. But do not think that he has abandoned us, Brothers; for he has not. Mirtok will serve as the HochLeiter, and the new Hochmiester will consult him in times of great stress.

In the mean time Mirtok has named I, Dain Farhammer, to be the Hochmiester of our Order. I understand that I have taken on an exponential responsibility in leading our great Order into the future. This is a daunting task, I will admit, but I harbor no fear. With the assistance of you, my Brothers, I know that we cannot falter nor fail. We will continue our service to His Holiness the Emperor Godfrey, and we shall continue our service well. We shall abhor and destroy the mutant, we shall suffer not the heretic to live, and we shall eliminate the xenos from their unholy existence. As always we shall forever be outnumbered, but never outgunned. We shall accept any challenge, no matter the odds.

My hope is that I am able to lead our Order once more into a Golden Age of prosperity. I wish for our strength to be unmatched and our purity to be unchallenged. We shall once more take our rightful place in Oren. But, the only way I can do this is with your help, Brothers! I for one am tired of the constant harassment by the mutant filth. No longer shall this be tolerated. We shall take the fight to the mutants, and we shall lay our vengeance upon them until not even a single one of them draw breath. Their elimination will be slow and total. But once more I shall proclaim, I cannot do this alone! Will you join me, Brothers? Will you aid me in my most holy of tasks? Are you a Sariant?"

Dain then draws his axe and points it into the air in one ferocious movement.

    "Beliae doe Emperor!

    Beliae doe Orden!

    Beliae doe Moder Lent!"

He look out across the Sariants many of them still in their armor, weapons still bloody from the battle. He sees the faces of his Brothers. An immense pride begins to swell within Dain's heart. He awaits their responses.
