Xoltan

I write this with the incredible bias that comes from having known Ed personally for five or so years now, but he's quite possibly the most genuine guy I know. Collected, contemplative, and utterly unflappable, he's the ideal GM candidate for a server as tumultuous as LotC. If you read even half the stuff he has to say, you'd know that he truly has the RPer's best interests at heart. While I joined the server shortly after Ed (he introduced me to it), I haven't been anywhere near as active as he has. He's witnessed the Ragnarok of Aegis, and set sails for brighter shores when Asulon had run its course. Needless to say, he's been around for some time.

More recently, he's devoted himself to the establishment of actual religious practices. I've never known Ed to put on airs, in game or ooc. He plays down to earth characters and would be a down to earth GM. Though I doubt my word means anything, I support this 100%.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: During weekdays at least a few hours every day. On weekends I'd have even more free time.

-How long have you played minecraft?: I'm going to estimate around four months or so.

-What do you know about roleplaying?: Staying in character is crucial to creating an engrossing experience. I highly enjoy creating characters that belong to a world different than our own.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect, based on what I've seen the the trailer and what I've read regarding the code of conduct that this will be one of the most engrossing and compelling RP experiences available online and that everyone who has been accepted thus far strives and will continue to strive to uphold these standards.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: In truth, I considered the prospect of joining a server to be a large and time consuming undertaking so after much scrutiny this was the only server that I ultimately decided would be worth my time to apply to.

-Character Name: Xoltan aka. Xoltan the Unspeakable

-What is your Race?: Human

-Biography: A mage who hails from a world beyond aegis, who has spent the majority of his life studying the mystic arts. Once a powerful sorcerer in his own world, he was banished by a man he once thought to be his friend, the warlock Khak-Mordell who was jealous of his power. Awakening to find himself in the world of Aegis, he discovers that the great magical power he possessed is no more. Seeking vengeance against the man who so wronged him, Xoltan desires nothing more than to learn the ways of magic so that he might one day return home. The journey to Aegis wreaked untold havoc upon his body and Xoltan is as much a shadow as he is a man, he is still possessed however of all human frailties.

-Character Age: Unknown, possibly centuries old

-Character Appearance: A withered looking man with obsidian skin and crimson eyes warped by magic. He is garbed in the traditional dress of mages from his world.

-Character Personality: Xoltan is distrustful due to his betrayal and highly driven by his desire for revenge. An intelligent man, he is quick to learn and open to new ideas. Xoltan is somewhat arrogant, having once held a position of great authority and can be condescending toward those who he believes are wasting his time.

In the world of Aegis, Xoltan has developed a dislike of the elves whom he believes to be haughty. He has taken notice of the worship of Iblees and pities those who serve him though he has considered the use of undead magics as a means to an end.

-Your ambitions: Xoltan's greatest ambition is the return to his own world and to take revenge upon Khak-Mordell. To achieve that end he will exploit every possible avenue provided to him.
