  1. I fear this will be my last posting on this board, for I have now realized something.

The inter-Elven discrimination is only because the High Elves are idiots who call themselves smart. They are physically weak, and find shelter in bullying; mentally insufficient, and find shelter in calling others so.

High Elves are not worth my time. They are ignorant and useless. I would not have a single one hurt, in mind or body, lest he hurt me. And it looks like it has just come to insults being flung like primitive beings and feces, so I wish not to be aggravated by the blindness and foolishness of the High Elves to the point of harm.

((No OOC rage here. And Lauir'leh, post once, not thrice please))

  2. A note, written in plain but neat hand writing, hangs attached to the others. It is on a parchment that is ever so slightly torn and hurt at the edges, but still very crisp and clean in the center. It reads

Sir, permit me to say something from my heart that I would love for you to know.

The Dark Elves, in my eyes, deserve the best cities, the best governments, and the best treatment of all the Elves. Your people have endured the worst discrimination of all, and I wish to only see that triumphed and fixed. Please, discover your history, and relate it back to the public, for I feel it will be the richest, most emotional timeline of any subrace, and that it will reflect the very best of your people.

It is my regret I can offer you no hint to your past, but please, ask me for anything you so desire.

The note is signed in a fashion much more elaborate than seen in the writing above, in a cursive font with grand loops and waves.

  3. For writing this post, and the subsequent from the topic's beginning, have I not only been proven right along the lines of High Elven racism, to the point at which they ignore my words and just admit it themselves? Has it not been shown a VAST majority of Wood Elves accept High and Dark, and Dark Elves accept High and Wood, but High Elves accept none? Only one High Elf has shown acceptance, and her words have indeed held the most wisdom; the most thought and tranquility.

Why has this been shown so definitively that, as of now, this addition to this board is nonessential? Because every piece of diction thus far can be derived by one's own thoughts. But meaning I will give by saying this:

When in a debate, the fools turn to hate.

Keep this in mind, "High" Elves, as you all seem to be turning straight to hatred and separating yourselves, spare the kind Aurea.

    Love,

    Royce

  4. The actions of this are inappropriate. If the High Elves; who have lived in Malinor for so long peacefully with other races, feel the need to discriminate against brethren, that is truly shameful. As Wood Elves and Dark Elves, we stand tall to ensure all are included amongst our worlds. If you cut a Dark Elf, a Mori, A Wood Elf, and a High Elf open, they are all the same inside. Where does it stand to say one is proud to be a "High Elf" or a "Wood Elf" for that matter? Who gives a damn about different skills. The Wood Elves are far better archers and the High Elves are far more advanced in the art of education. What is there to gain by refusing to interact with those who have lived with us for thousands of years? What in Malin's name makes us any different from each other? Answer that, any elf. I seek to realize how one who was once in the Malinor council and promoted anti-prejudice movements is now a racist because they have a few meager ruins. Answer that, Ebs and the rest of the High Elf Council! How can you beseech to seclude yourself from the very place Prince Ashur found, and generously left untouched for you all? I assume now in your eyes, that racial inequality proves how "astonishing" ones' nation is.

Answer me that one question: How could we coincide for thousands of years perfectly, then shatter within a few months?

The High Elves are always welcome in the forests all Elves share.

    ((That was my 200th post :P ))

Dearest High Prince, your response should be a topic all its own. It is beyond the thought I put forth into my original (and quite wrong (forgive me, I was trying to get the ball rolling, and seemed to succeed)) posting here, and it has words that deserve be be read on their own.

I stand with you in that entire posting. And to any who would make mean of the kind words above, he was not in any way being discriminatory, just stating what he has seen.

    Thank you, High Prince Haelphon.

  5. To Nelecar,

I wish not to imply righteousness in myself. I wish to have no implications, but merely to state that outright bigotry as such has been seen is simply idiotic.

I will keep my response to you abrupt and plain, and have it concern merely your diction of superiority.

Be the fool, he who claims his self great. Wise needs only to demonstrate.

    To Aurea,

Concerning the quote above, you indeed shine again, and are proper in saying that as a High Elf, it should be proven that you are superior, rather than stated in blind racism.

  6. Aurea, you are perhaps the most respectful and intelligent Elf I have found, and that I deeply appreciate. However, there are often other High Elves who push me away as soon as the recognize me to be a Wood Elf, and I have great disdain for such. I do respect and love High Elves, as they are most definitely my brethren, kin or not. I hate to be pushed away, and posted this in order to see other's opinions and how at least I can not push away the High Elves.

Indeed, it is likely you who is able to discern with the most wondrous amount of thought what is truly happening. As such, I would be quite joyous should you share with me your own opinions of how Wood and Dark Elves discriminate. And as always, I thank your respect.

As for the one with the response before me, you are the reason I made this thread. You deserve no such response as Aurea.

  7. A response, in the same writ as the original post, is placed behind the first parchment.

Ah, I know the judgement was passed, and I am indeed glad you showed me the prejudice in my own posting, however, I would have to say a few things.

I sincerely do agree that keeping it close to heart the construction of the High Elven town, however it should not be so secretive that many Non-High Elves know absolutely nothing of it. I indeed respect the culture of High Elves, it is so enthralling and beautiful, but it needs to not be entirely a secret from your brethren.

But within your response is the very discrimination of which I speak. I agree, my post may have been... blunt, but you use language such that shows you see us as feeble. "A noble culture," implying ours is not. "Safe from the threat," implies you assume Wood and Dark Elves would taint your reconstruction, when I would merely marvel at its inherent beauty. And "hang out your dirty laundry," leaving a hint as to how you find my opinions. I deeply respect yours, they are anything but dirty laundry. They are great to know, great to debate, great to discuss.

I merely meant to get the ball rolling and to see how my own prejudices could be curbed, and hoped that some would be curbed in others as well. No offense was meant, and none should have been taken.

  8. We all know that there is discrimination among our own race. Not to the Mori'Quessir, but between High Elves and the others, Wood and Dark Elves.

It is seen in the separation they choose to have in housing.

The number of Non-High Elves they tell to turn away.

The High Elves having a different bulletin board.

The High Elves not even sharing the information about their village.

The differences they are hiding from the other Elves, driving a stave into our relations.

But it is not just the High Elves. Wood Elves, like myself, and Dark Elves are also guilty of inter-race prejudice. Specific examples are hard for me to list, as they come from my side. If a High Elf would like to share some they observe, I would indeed love to hear it.

    I am tired of it.

((I mean really, I don't see half of the Elven Role Play because it is in the High Elf subforum...))

  9. Royce walks by and starts chuckling lightly to himself. He begins speaking under his breath.

Someone willing to pay 75,000 Minas is a either a complete fool or just an overly self-conscious idiot of a Human looking for Elven property.

He strolls away, wondering what kind of being would have left a note advertising that they are able to pay so very much for a simple, 2,500 Mina tree home.

  10. Near the cloud temple, someone has left a note posted. You see it and begin to read.

    Hello all!

I am an Elf trying to determine the affairs of the World of Asulon in order to better understand how everything is fairing thus far.

So my main question to any who reads this note is such:

What are the current Wars, Alliances, and Peace Treaties in the world? and if you know, Why did the wars erupt?

My dearest thanks to any who answer this.

A large amount of space is left on the note, and any with ink may write on it.

  11. This sounds like a really good idea! It would be amazing if it gets picked up by enough people and you get a sizable amount of people to attend the games. Perhaps if you do hold them, have them happen a set time IRL, not in game (cuz that will get REALLY confusing.) So, maybe once every third week?

The games sound like amazing fun too.

For the layout of the area though, I would think you'd want the arena to be in a corner of your 100x100 land plot, so that way the stalls would get even traffic, and things would be easier to find rather than looking around the arena for things (though I'm sure other people would set things up around it.)

And for another game, maybe make it so that there is a parkour one, a pig race one, a duel tournament, and some other things, because you will need at least seven games to make this thing go.

[EDIT] And concerning when Nations are at war, if you make it in a peaceful place and have it so that each Nation must promise they will not abuse the opportunity of the games, I think it would work.

    Good idea!

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Salvus and Renatus

Why did you apply for this nation?: Most Elves have a tendency to be extremely biased towards humans, if not openly, then within their hearts. While many do not feel the need to put these prejudices aside, I most certainly do. There is no reason for us to hate the Humans without regard to who the Human is. And I wish to show this to humans, the side of Elves that does not blindly hate them. I want to show Humans how we can be helpful and kind if they are the same to us.

In addition, I have had poor experiences with these Nations (described below) and I wish to do all I can to keep other Elves from having the experiences and to bring our Nation and theirs together, in order to keep any Elves being harmed for simply being in the borders of the given Human Nation. I want to try and destroy this racism before it can destroy us, which I believe, as an unbiased and good Elf, can do much to accomplish that task.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative): My past experiences with Salvus and Renatus, in the last year that we have been on Asulon, have not been as grand as one might hope. Each time I entered one of the Nations, I was spit upon or hollered at if I entered a village or city. No one would help me or sell to me, and I often needed food (for I had not intended on the extreme amount of travel time.)

Indeed, on several occasions, I have been beaten and almost killed by citizens of either Salvus or Renatus, and this is something that should not happen. Though the beatings did not occur in either Nation, it still influenced how I thought of the Nations, but only in a way that made me wish to use diplomacy to mend these issues before the flowers of hate seeded a tree.

One more thing of note concerning the other nations is that I witnessed quite the noble and diplomatic act between a man of Renatus and one of Alras, and I wish to breed this act between Humans and Elves. The man of Renatus, talking of war with the one of Alras, was being respectful and trying to do everything to prevent it. This case, which I overheard, provided my much respect for Renatus, and Salvus by association.

Any other applicable information: I am a good traveler, and would be very comfortable with being abroad for long periods of time. I, as all Elves, can also read and write, and will use these skills to make the most detailed and accurate records of any meetings that would occur. Memory is not reliable. I can also fend for myself if attacked by a group of Skeleton Archers and Zombie Fighters, though I am not good enough with any weapon to fight a sentient being.

  13. ((MAD POST! You guys are almost all talking out of character, and very few of you are using brackets!!!))

My best advice to you about researching the Dark Elves would be to look in some of the ruins abounding in the Elven Lands. You may also research how the Dark Elves have been discriminated against in the past.

((OOCly, I would look on The Elder Scrolls wiki. They have probably the BEST elf set up (sadly, we don't have dwarves, high elves, wood elves, dark elves, and orcs as all the same species on here.))

  14. A Wood Elf overhears the conversation, and decides to approach to give a few words of his opinion.

"Pardon my eaves dropping, your voice just carries to my delicate ears. Oh, I'm Royce, by the by.

"High Elves, from my experience, appear to... separate themselves from Wood and Dark Elves in such a manner as to almost be discriminatory. It is not near as extreme as when a Human meets his hafling cousins, but the prejudice is still quite noticeable.

"This is not to say that Wood and Dark Elves are not prejudiced, as I, a Wood Elf, am telling you this as a generalization upon all the High (and mighty) Elves."

The Wood Elf sticks around to hear the rest of the conversation.

  15. Hello all of my fellow Elves.

    Introduction

I am writing this today in order to ask what is going to happen to our people. We have been forced from Aegis by the Undead, and now reside far from any other nation in Asulon. So what are we to do? No one has asked what is going to happen, no plans have been made, no formalities have been taken. So I intend to initiate the thought on our future as Elves.

    Current State

From what I have so far seen on Asulon, things are not looking up for our people. Most of them congregate near the Cloud Temple, in lands not even claimed by the New Nation, whatever that nation's name may be. They live in a place called the "Elven Slums" near the Cloud Forest. I am sure few even know where our own lands lay, because there are many more homes in this area than in the New Nation.

Those Elves in the New Nation, after any wayward traveler arrives, make themselves as cold and callous as one could imagine. They tell all to leave, and tell everyone that there is not enough food and no homes. They do not want anyone there to build up farms and construct houses in the massive trees. They just want everyone to be gone, lest they be a high elf.

And this is another issue; the racism within our race. Already, there are separations that were unseen in Aegis. High Elves have claimed the main part, and the part nearest to the Cloud Temple, entirely for their own. They turn away all arrivals, only telling them of the Wood and Dark Elf camps if the Elf asking endures a scolding and a large amount of deigning. Wood Elves and Dark Elves feel unwelcomed in their own lands, and are growing to despise High Elves. This cannot happen.

Furthermore, as no government or army has been established, we have no way to secure any thing. There is no protection in the mainland of the New Nation, and there is no protection of the Elves in the lands we have not claimed (which we should) where the Elven Slums lie. We have no apparent leader, and we have no desire to grow.

Our nation does not even have a name.

    Government

First things first, we need to have a ruler set up.I suppose and propose that it should be the old High Prince, should he still be able. The council, in addition, would be made up of everyone from the old council who can still rule, with some new additions made if necessary. These Elves would need to be very busy for the first few days that they come back into the government, as we have so much that is undone.

We do have a castle for them to enter into and rule from, and for them to decide everything they need to within. However, it remains empty. No one fills it, and no one uses it. This needs to be fixed.

Also, to help with the growing issue of discrimination, I propose that Elves of all subraces come together, with at least one of each in the council. This will help fix and prevent problems.

    Military

When Aegis was destroyed, many new issues rose among the various races. Even within the nations of the races. Now, a newfound hatred has been realized, and things are grim on every border of nations that touch. Luckily, we have no borders with other nations, but we may soon find ourselves in a position where the Dwarves or the Humans or the Orcs border our lands and want them, unless we quickly set up a military force and a plan to grab land that should be ours.

Supposedly, the military should be like it was on Aegis. However, we all know how well Aegis turned out. On Asulon, we should keep our military a force of elite individuals on one side and a brute force on the other, in order to strike fear into enemies and never have to deploy boots. We should use them for whatever purposes we do need, though. This is all just my idea, and is subject to the new government, whenever it chooses to come.

    Economy

We have none, and it will be fixed with the rise of a government. So I won't even address this part.

    Acquiring Land

The Elven Slums I mentioned before are currently in the no man's land that much of Asulon is left to. This area likely houses two thirds of the Elven population. This means we have a right to it, and should claim it as soon as we can. It is the area of highest productivity in the Elven world so far, and will provide much wood for housing, which is a "problem" in the mainland.

In addition, claiming the Cloud Forest, Eastern Cloud Forest, and the Woods near there will provide us with many... unique... opportunities that our competitors in Asulon have no access to. These are not things to be discussed so openly that a Human could read.

    Finishing

Now that I have said everything, I hope that you will all heed my warning. We need to fix everything that we have not even started yet. We need to get a jump on the other races, and set ourselves up as a powerhouse, as I am sure the humans will eventually all ally and attack other nations. We must do everything in our power to help each other and not fight, and we must create a New Nation of power and prosperity for all, as to attract as many of the disparate Elves as we can.

Come, let us unite, and again stand together!

    Signed,

    Royce Haddon

    Ecoomy

  16. First off, I want to say we need ruins.

    1. Post any ideas you have for either the human nation or towns.

In my opinion, there should be more towns that are more spread out in order to give more housing. This would also diversify economies, as a town on the water would be good for trading (with rivers and ocean biomes, it really would be now,) a town in a forest good for logging, a town near a mine good for mining, a town along roads good for trading.

    2. Post what you want to see in the new world.

I want to see epic. This doesn't mean grand or glorious, but seeing something ugly but massive. For example, as many have said, add more slums. Or make houses smaller and cheaper. This would definitely make RPing more fun. I've been on the server for months and never owned a house. A slum would be nice.

    3. Anything having to do with the humans.

Add something to create racial tension. I don't know what though.
