  1. Out-Of-Character:

    -Minecraft Account Name:

    Saber952

    -How old are you?:

    18

    -Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    UK, GMT

-Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I pride myself on it, being both an English Degree student and a grammar Nazi.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I have recently started university studying English and when I am not studying, socialising or participating in societies, I enjoy a bit of gaming. I recently talked one of my best friends into getting Minecraft and we have been playing together online on a server for a few weeks now, but we want to move up to the best server there is.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Depends on societies etc, approximately 15-17 hours, mostly in the evening.

-How long have you played minecraft?:

3 months, although I have watched Yogscast videos for much longer, and I consider that training.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?:

Roleplaying is literally becoming a character, thinking their thoughts and entering their world. I'm a member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, heavily involved in acting societies and have been acting since I was 13. Roleplaying is a casual form of acting, immersing yourself in a character and world, and as such I greatly enjoy doing it. One of the areas of acting in which I have done a lot of work is improvisation. Improvisation is focused on actions and reactions, being able to move with the flow of a piece of drama, respond to actors around you and develop a character in a short space of time. These are also the essential skills of roleplaying, and as a result I would like to think I am a good roleplayer.

-What do you expect this server will be like?:

A multitude of interweaving plot lines and characters? Cities, nations, factions and wars? The ability to become part of the lore of the game? I think it will be amazing! How could I come to any other conclusion?

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Played on CookiesMC's server, but I left due to lack of players, poor OP-player relations and rampant griefing.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?:

Yes and yes, the lore seemed very well developed and interesting. I particularly liked the fact that players have a major influence on the lore through their actions.

-Name the 4 races on this server:

Human, Orc, Elf and Dwarf (also Ascended and Undead, and a multitude of sub-races).

-How did you hear about us?:

Yogscast favourited your trailer on YouTube.

    -Did you vote?:

    Indeed I did!

    -What was your favourite Law?:

No griefing. I've had more than enough of that...

-What was your least favourite Law?:

No destroying the world's landscape, I think massive destruction events would make brilliant story lines! I do understand why the rule is in place however.

-What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?

    Verilius

    In-Character:

    -Character Name:

    Verilius Aurilane

    -What is your Race?:

    Elf

    -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account:

    Saber952

    -Biography:

Born in a small Elven village, Verilius' parents were killed along with most of the other inhabitants of the village when Bandits raised it to the ground in a seemingly unprovoked assault. Just a small boy of no more than 12, Verilius somehow defied all odds and managed to survive alone in the wilderness for 9 months, dodging bandits and eating what he could find, before he stumbled into the blessed city of Laurelin where he was taken in and cared for by his kin, who were truely amazed at his miraculous feat of survival. However, despite their friendliness towards him, and the bonds of race that existed between them, Verilius' wandering and the traumatic experience of losing his entire world meant that he never felt as though he truely belonged with the Elves of Malinor, and so, when the time came, he set out to wander the world of Aegis, searching for a place he could call home, a new people to accept him.

Verilius wandered for no less than 47 years, building shelters for small lengths of time when he found an area that he liked, though he never stayed for long. He used his time wandering to learn, to aquire new skills. He learned a little of magic and of mining, of charisma and of combat, usually accepting training or advice as payment for his skills when his travels took him into civilised lands. But it was in Oren, the land of the Humans, that he learned the most, and found the closest thing to what he desired for his home. The power of a centralised king, the rugged determination in the face of Undead invasion, the architecture and learning of the Humans captivated and inspired Verilius, and he knew that if he was to create a home, it would follow the model set by the industrious Humans.

It all began to make sense in his mind, the attack on his village, the death of his parents, had occured due to the weak Elven system of rule. Rule by consensus could never provide the protection a sole despot or monarch could. Evil and suffering need not exist with a strong ruler at the helm. In the end, Verilius left Oren to continue his travels, the foul taint of the Undead in the land of the Humans being too foul for him to bear. He returned to his travels, but he was always mindful of his dream, a dream that he will ensure is realised at some point.

    -Character Age:

A fairly young Elf at 102

    -Character Appearance:

Verilius is different from most Elves in that he has dark brown hair rather than blonde or lighter colours. While this led to some unkind murmurings amongst the Elves that he was a Half-Elf, these rumours are unfounded, he simply has dark hair. He is lithe and thin from his travels, but that should not be taken as an indication that he is not strong, as his strength and resiliance are both things to be envied. The most striking thing about him when you meet him is his deep blue eyes, which feel as though they can penetrate your very soul.

    -Character Personality:

Kind, pleasant and courteous, willing to go out of his way to help people and rarely asking for a reward, Verilius is practically the embodiment of a cliched 'good-guy' character. He does, however, tend to get rather angry when people ask about his parents. He also harbours an understandable hatred for bandits and those who pray on the weak. His lack of a home does mean that he can sometimes feel insecure and vulnerable, though he tries hard to hide this.

    -Your ambitions:

Despite his love of wandering, what Verilius truely longs for is a place where he feels like he belongs. He is willing to do anything to find such a place, even if it means building it from the ground up. In fact, he would prefer it that way...

-Can your character read or write?:

Verilius can both read and write exquisitely, and enjoys documenting his time in the wilderness.

    -Can your character mine?:

Enough to gather rudimentary building and crafting materials, just don't ask him to gather diamonds for you.

    -Are you a capable builder?

Having had to build many shelters in his time wandering, Verilius has aquired numerous building skills. He is also observant enough to copy architectural styles in areas he hasn't visited before.

    -Can you wield a sword?:

Verilius can wield a sword competantly and effectively, though he is far more skilled with a bow. After all, hunting animals with a bow is far easier, though hunting wrong doers with a sword is far more satisfying...

    -Enjoy Farming?:

While he does not 'enjoy' farming per se, Verilius recognises and respects the need for people to live off the land, and has been known to farm the land in small patches during his wanderings. He is not taken by the taste of bread and prefers meat cooked on an open fire, although he does rather like the delicious delicacy humans call 'cake'.

-Does your character have any special skills?:

Verilius can cast some minor spells (if this is available to new players on a skills based basis) although he is hardly 'skilled' in magic, having learned it in bits and pieces on his wanderings. He is also remarkably persuasive, especially when one considers that he has spent most of his life alone.

    -A screenshot of your skin:

On the LotC skin download page (http://minecraftskinspro.com/default.asp?cat=69) my skin is the skin 'male elf' by 'Jackie1st' but with brown hair instead of blonde. See attached.

    -Other Information:

This looks like a truely amazing server, well done for all you have achieved here and keep it up!
