Oh you sweet summer child.. Your post coincides with a period of extreme salt.

I feel like there is always a period of extreme salt whenever I check in with the server.

  2. My name is nppeck and I was a GM twice back in 2012-2013 and 2014. I'm not sure how many people still actually remember me. Nor do I know if anyone is actually going to read this, but it's worth posting anyways to reminisce.

When I first started on LOTC back in 2011, I had no idea what was going on. I had seen a few video's from Sage Candle's youtube videos which by the time I joined had all been destroyed. I joined a small guild at the time called the White Ravens which had a lot of holdings in Malinor (I'm not even sure Malinor even exists anymore). This was Aegis and in the span of a few months, a whole lot happened. Alk'hazar the capital of Oren fell, Galahad and Renatus were born, and eventually Aegis itself ended. Asulon was really the height of my time at LOTC. I had a small town at the very edge of the Cloud Temple which became a huge RP hub. With a few friends, we managed to create an entire new nation called Seventis and even accumulated 150 signatures to make it. Special shootout to Relgard on this.

Becoming a staff member was a very new experience and in some ways I enjoyed it far more than any RP I did. Under Danny, I was an AT member and then a GM. To be perfectly frank, doing modreqs was not the most interesting part of being a GM. The level of intrigue was what I loved.  At this time, there was a lot of sentiment against staff members such as SerenityOnyx of Mori fame, Respiren, Mogroka. Availer even returned for a while which was quite an crapshow. LOTC has been such a large part of my life so I'd like to thank all the people I can think of that made it such a special experience.

This is just the people off the top of my head, there are many others that made LOTC such a great part of my life. Perhaps one day if I have time I'll return to the server.

  3. Gracchi Manor never forget

I unfortunately do not seem to have any images left of the Gracchi manor, which was by far my favorite place anywhere on LOTC ever. Though as I recall my npc spent a lot of time than I did once I became a GM. Ariana and Rel did seem to have a rather lackluster marriage.

  4. Hello for those that don't know me my name is nppeck. I was at two different periods a GM on LOTC as well as an AT member and FM among others. I was cleaning out my computer and I found some images that I think some people may enjoy of days gone by. Most of them are from 2.0 or Asulon which would have been about 2012. Feel free to enjoy them if you so choose. To give context on some of them I have provided a short commentary.

These are the ruins of Salvus. Salvus came about as I understand as a project with King Enor and Queen Dawn Perea. At one point it was the busiest hub on the server. This of course did attract some discontent. Some time later an alliance of all nations banded together to destroy the nation and Queen Dawn who was accused of witchcraft as I recall. After the city's destruction, large parts of it were returned to nature.

This is a view of Salvus in its more popular days. A group of friends and I lived in the city at the time, namely Zane (TheBlindSeer) and Susana Mauviette (CowsGoPoo). We had tried to buy this house but sadly it was burned down by from GMs just as we were about to purchase it.

This is a ruin that I happened upon while counting for a site to build with my guild, the White Ravens. Back then nations were compared to later on in the server much weaker and many guilds were quite powerful. This is especially considering that Oren had at this point split into two nations, Hanseti and Renatus upon the destruction of Oren's capital Alk'hazar at the hands of the undead. The White Ravens would later go on to found a small settlement a bit farther away from civilization along the banks of a river. Sometime later it was later abandoned and then acquired by a rogue by the name of Relgard Sintel (darkdragon274). From time to time we would get visitors who happened by our little town. One I distinctly remember was a new player named Tavari (borgtrek7).

This is from what I remember the sake the Queen Dawn was burned on when she was killed for her supposed witchcraft.

This is the Cloud Temple in Asulon. It was in my opinion the prettiest though in its time it more than its fair share of detractors. Each path in the temple lead to a different nation and the town of Ascella was just outside the human path. Around April 2012 I was helping to run Ascella with a help of a few friends namely Julius (IIKingCanadaII though I believe who goes by ACanadianCraft now). For a time it was quite busy before being abandoned in favor of a new nation named Seventis.

This particular picture was not actually from Asulon but rather a very very rough sketch for what Anthos or 3.0 would look like. At the time I had the privilege of helping to work on the new map. This building was constructed by some human builders for Oren. Their idea at the time was to construct this MASSIVE city in which the majority of the human population would live and this was to be the city's gate. You can see the figure in the background for the size and scale they were planning. The human capital would later be very much scaled back.

This image is also not from Asulon but the map that proceeded it. The map of Asulon was lost or corrupted sometime before the release of 3.0 and so a temporary one called Elysium was released. Elysium was quite fun and while I was there I joined this group of human players known as the White Rose for a short stint that never really amounted to anything. They were very nice and fearsome fighters as I recall.

I may be able to find some more images later but please comment or leave any other images that you have and look quite fondly back on.
