I'm quite a 'nerdy' school boy, who enjoys reading, writing and playing fantasy books and games in my spare time, which I have quite a lot of! I am looking for another fun hobby to dedicate myself too, and hope this could be it.

Roleplaying is taking on the role (that is feelings, experiences, emotions, skills and thoughts) of a, usually fictional, character. You 'become' that character for the duration of your roleplaying session, and behave as they would.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming (coming from the Greek 'meta' which means abstract, or from outside), means using outside (real-world) knowledge to your benefit within a game.

Powergaming means roleplaying your character in an unrealistic or unfair way to another player, that does not give the other player a chance to RP back. An example would be: Your character comes across a human trader in the woods and you RP: <Character> stabs the trader, taking all of his goods and money. (Thanks Lucas!)

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to be a fun and impersive roleplaying experience, where I can totally lose myself in my character.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have not played on any other Minecraft roleplaying servers. However I have a lot of experience in both roleplaying and the fantasy genre in general. I am an avid fantasy book reader, and I love roleplaying games, having clocked hours in games such as the The Elder Scrolls Skyrim.

A school friend told me about Lord of the Craft, and I have since watched a trailer of the server and extensively browsed your Wiki.

Makarov Evergreen.

I am a High Elf.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Makarov was raised by his mother and father in one of Malinor's smaller village settlements. He was, and is, a handsome elf, with shoulder length brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He stands head and shoulders over most men, although he is only average size amongst his fellow High Elves. Always a precocious child, he found his mother's lessons simple and boring, and at a young age turned his keen mind to petty thievery. It started simply- a scrap of bread here, an apple there; but things quickly grew out of hand. Soon Makarov began stealing things of value- family heirlooms, precious bows and cherished jewellery. Things came to a head on the day Makarov stole a golden circlet. He had had his eye on the circlet for weeks, and had planned to melt it down and use the gold to buy an expensive gift for the pretty elven girl down in the village. Makarov was confident. He did not fear the law, for never before had the young elf been caught and never did he plan to be. But something went wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong.

Even years later Makarov could not tell how he had been discovered- perhaps he had left a door open, or maybe the owner of the circlet had erected a magical alarm? However it had happened, the owner of the precious trinket- a retired Warden named Allyof- caught Makarov, and dragged him into the center of the small village. There, he threw his glove to the ground and spat in Makarov's face, demanding single combat. Makarov was aghast. He had no hope of besting the experienced elf in combat- he would surely be killed. But the alternative was a jail sentence, and eternal shame upon him and his family.

Even as he struggled to decide, Makarov's father strode calmly into the village square. He knelt, touched his forehead to Makarov's and wiped away his tears. He smiled sadly.

"Go Makarov. It's not too late to turn things around." Gently he pushed Makarov towards the ring of people surrounding them. Then, to Makarov's eternal horror, he turned around and scooped up Allyof's glove.

"On behalf of my son, I accept your challenge." Allyof inclined his head.

"So be it." he replied. An old elf stepped forward and presented each combatant with an ornate ceremonial sword. In his heart, Makarov knew what the result of the fight would be, yet he could not turn away. He watched, eyes wide and heart breaking even as his father was struck down. Only when the last light in his father's eyes died, did Makarov turn and flee.

Leaving the village, Makarov struck out on a westerly path, never to return to the village of his birth. Though the death of his father had absolved Makarov, and his family, of any guilt or shame for his past crimes, he knew he would never be able to face his mother again.

The first night alone was the hardest. Cold, hungry, and with only his bitter self-loathing for company, Makarov curled up by a tree that night ready to die. But as he slept that night he dreamt of his father, and his last words to him.

"It's not too late to turn things around."

The next day, Makarov awoke with new resolve. No longer did he care for himself, or for luxuries. He hated himself with unmatched passion- hated his greed, his selfishness and most of all his uselessness. But he was determined to make a difference. That day he caught and killed a deer, skinning it with his small knife. Reaching the small settlement of Serpent Ridge, he traded the meat and skins of his prey for clothes and a bow, setting off into the Wilds once more.

He travels the land to this day, hunting by day, and training in the ways of the bow by night, in the hopes of one day joining the Wardens and making a true difference to the Land of Asulon. Makarov is currently 17 years old, and still strong in the eyes of his kin.

Your characters ambitions:

Makarov aspires to join the Wardens and help defend Malinor, and the whole of Asulon from any and all threats. However, despite his attempts to leave his old life behind, he still harbours a deep hidden childhood yearning to learn the mystical arts of magic, and would jump at the chance to do so.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling in combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Keeping his distance, Makarov would call out to the bandits.

"I warn you foul law-breakers, leave the elf alone! I need little more excuse to put an arrow in your chests."

Should the bandits persist, or attack Makarov, he would retaliate with lethal force. Should they leave peacefully he would take careful note of their appearances, and aid the elf, providing food and medical attention should they need it. Then Makarov would set out with all due haste for the nearest city, to report the bandits to the guards.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

Makarov would first look at the prices and say "Hail sir, I would like to purchase some arrows from you, how many do you have in stock" The shop keeper replies, "None I have in the shop but there may be some in the back room, come in." Makarov then follows the shopkeeper to the back room but then finds out that there are bandits back there. They demand all of Makarovs minas or they shall kill him. Makarov did not come prepared so he sadly hands the bandits 2000 minas. They then flee the shop and Makarov is standing there with the shopkeeper. He asks, "Why did you trick me?" The shopkeeper replies, "I did not want to but the bandits forced me to do this, would ye like some free arrows and a bow?" Makarov replies, "Yes thank you, I will also report this to the town guards" he then takes some arrow, leaves the store and goes to the guard post.

Role playing to me is a way of escaping the real world and getting a chance to become someone your not. I know a fair knowledge of RPG game's and I believe that out of all game types RPG is the most entertaining.

Meta is using info you find out relating to the outside the game and use it inside the game. Example going into a Team Speak and receiving info from a different team and using that info to your advantage inside the game.

Powergaming is a type of gaming in RPG's where a player usually RolePlay's things which may be impossible to do, leaving the other player no chance to fight back. Powergaming people usually focus most on his own character.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Makarov was born on the country side in a small town called Riven. Him and his parents lived off the land, anything they could hunt or kill was there food for the day. When Makarov was twelve he got abducted by orcs while hunting late at night. He spent two weeks in an orc camp, and just when they ran out of food one of the orcs left there bow lying next to the door before going hunting. Makarov took the bow and 20 arrows. Although he only killed one orc he did escape while most of them were out hunting and then returned to his normal life as a, but when arriving back to Riven he soon found out his parents were killed by orcs during an invasion last week. Now at the age of seventeen Makarov set off from his home town to start a new life in Solace as a hunter. His red hooded robe symbolizes the power he has as a hunter and the might he has as a leader. When he first came to Solace he met a great merchant named Ishmiell and instantly the two men made a strong friendship. As the two men set off into a new to create a new life they are unaware of the dangers they face. Makarov specializes in Archery and Hunting, he has great leader ship skills and is ready to face any challenge. His appearance consists of hazel eyes, with short brown hair and is currently 5"8, and mildly slim figure. He has a scare on his left knee from being stuck by an arrow when he was 7 and this causes him to have trouble running.

Your characters ambitions:

My character's ambitions are to be an honest hard working man. Maybe open up his own hunting company or become a farmer one day.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Makarov walks up to the two bandits and they say "move worm this does not concern you traveler" Makarov responds by saying "listen buddy leave this elf alone there's a price in for it if you do" they respond by saying "how about your life?" Then Makarov throws two diamonds in front of their feet and make sure they leave. After Makarov would make sure the elf is alright and ask "Do you need any more help" and if not Makarov would go about his way. But soon after Makarov sees the bandits return so he runs up to them and ask "what are u doing now" one of the bandits then slashes his knife out at Makarov and he gets and gets a wound but Makarov then draws his bow and says "for the last time be on your way, I will not be so generous next time. The bandits think for a moment and then leave. Makarov turns his back and heads home.

Makarov: "I would like a set of you fines diamond Armour"

Shopkeeper: "Hmm I don’t have any in the shop but there is some in my storage unit across town"

After following him to a dark ally he pulls out him blade and demands 3,000 minas. Makarov denys and and they fight. Makarov hits him in the face with his fists which stuns the man for a moment. Makarov then does a quick jog away and pulls out his bow. He take point at him and the man starts to back away. Being the kind hearted person Makarov is he let him live and to him to carry on with his day. Makarov then realizes that the man did not even own the shop and reports him to the guards.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Makarov walks up to the two bandits and they say "move worm this does not concern you, you muggle" Makarov responds by saying "listen buddy leave this elf alone there's a price in for it if you do" they respond by saying "how about your life?" Then Makarov throws two diamonds in front of their feet and make sure they leave. After Makarov would make sure the elf is alright and ask "Do you need any more help" and if not Makarov would go about his way. But soon after Makarov sees the bandits return so he runs up to them and ask "what are u doing now" He slashes his knife out at Makarov but his quick reflex's enabled him to disarm the bandit and hold the knife back to his neck. Makarov says "for the last time be on your way, I will not be so generous next time. As the bandit leaves Makarov turns his back and heads home.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

Makarov: "I would like a set of you fines diamond Armour"

Shopkeeper: "Hmm I dont have any in the shop but there is some in my storage unit across town"

Makarov: "Very well then lets go"

After following him to a dark ally he pulls out him blade and demands 3,00 minas. Makarov denys and and they fight. Makarov does a flip over his head and land behind him without him being aware. Makarov then does a quick jog away and pulls out his bow. He take pint at him and the man starts to back away. Being the kind hearted person Makarov is he let him live and to him to carry on with his day. Makarov then realizes that the man did not even own the shop and reports him to the guards.

Powergaming is a type of gaming in RPG's where a player usually RolePlay's things which may be impossible to do, leaving the other player no chance to fight back. Powergaming people usually focus most on his own character.

I say then he says "Why yes i could use some help with cleaning out the back storage" After I completed my chores the shop keeper pulls a knife out and threatens to kill me. I quickly disarm his hand but he pulls out another knife and cuts me across the arm. I pull an arrow out from my bag and stab him with the tip of the arrow. This was not enough he snapped the arrow and ran towards me. I pulled i knife from my satchel and threw it with all my might and the knife landed into his left eye. He was stuck dead cold. The next day I search the market for someone to take his place.

I would watch the argument from a distance then go up the the group and bribe the two bandits to leave the elf alone buy throwing two diamonds on the ground then say "off with you goons". If they deny i would protect the elf at all costs even if it means my own life. Later i would help the elf with any items he lost buy giving him/her any thing they need and tell him "good day. Then return to my normal day

I would say "Yes good sir, I would like to buy your finest arrows and make it quick." After buying my items I would give the owner an extra tip and say "good day" and be off.

Everdeen was 12 when he fled is home, he was a hunter from a small town to the north call Camp Light. He fled his house after his family was brutally murdered by orcs from the south. Everdeen grew up on the food that he hunted and the people he robbed. At the age of 14 he came upon a elf who gave him a magic bow but in return he must serve them again one day in a great battle though he never saw that elf again. Everdeen met a man in a pub one day by the name of Kowaman the two men walked shared tales of there childhood and began a strong friendship. The two wanderers set off to live a life of there own. But to this day Everdeen sworn never to trust anyone but Kowaman. Age 17, height 5"7, brown hair red hooded robe. He is an outlaw but has a strong heart. He will protect the weak and defenseless at all times even if it puts himself in danger.

I would take my arrow out, ready my bow, take aim and plunge two arrows deep into the two bandits chest. As they struggle to breath I would unseal my sword and strike them across necks. Then i would give my solute to the elf and ask if he needed any more assistance.
