  1. Name – EARL

    Age – 22 I THINK

    Race – UMM I AM A HUMAN

Reason to join - BECAUSE I NEED TO MAKE MONEY

Special Skills - ((*There are a few tentative ink markings but the area is blank.*))

PS I WOULD REALLY LIKE BEING ON THE WATCH

  2. *You are walking near the great tree of Normandor when you hear a great shout. Walking over to investigate, you find an iron-clad, rugged looking elf, shakily calling out to the general public*

Hail! Hail, citizens of Normandor, of Malinor! I come to warn you of a great danger that has befallen us. I was walking one day, near the caverns of the Mori, and I saw through the gate a strange spider. I watched it for a moment, perplexed. I watched as it crawled through the gate, hissing acid into my face, and attacked me! I thought it to be a normal spider, and slashed confidently with my sword - but it merely bounced off it's hide, it's skin as tough as diamond! It spat webs at me, entangling my feet, and pounced, shearing into my armor with the strength of an orc's sword. I realized how dangerous this hideous beast was, and fled to Elandriel. But it pursued, and multiplied! When I finally took shelter in a kind elf's home, there were not one, but almost five spiders besieging the tree. I managed to dash out from the door to the safety of Normandor, hoping to lead the spiders away from the poor elf's house. When I finally looked back, I could not see the spiders. I warn you, my fellow elves, my fellow citizens of Asulon - the spiders of Menorcress have evolved! They are stronger now, faster, fiercer! Tread lightly near Menorcress, for they could be anywhere, silently stalking you. I warn you, beware of the spiders!

  3. Out of Character:

    MC name: RandomBuddhist

    RP name: Cursolus

    Race: (Wood) Elf

Do you meet the basic Initiate requirements? Yes.

    In Character:

-I swear to abide by all the rules of Normandor and the Kingdom of Malinor.

-I swear to uphold the peace, justice and sanctity of the Elder Tree.

-I swear not to abuse my powers, to assist my brothers in arms and to conduct myself professionally.

-I swear to follow the chain of command and strive to prove myself to them.

“As brothers in arms we strive to ensure the security and prosperity of our city. Harbingers of death to all who would oppose Her, paragons of justice to all who defy Her, protector of Her sanctity.”

    Signed: Cursolus

*The Sentinel asks you questions so he may ponder over your request to join the Guard, he beckons you to keep it brief*

Question 1: What can you contribute to the Guard of Normandor? My sword and bow to fight and protect, as well as my skill with travelling and scouting.

Question 2: Armoured persons approach our gates, they are open. You don’t know why they are here. What do you do? I stop them and kindly ask what they are doing. If they prove to be hostile, I will call reinforcements and defend the city with my life. If they are friendly, I will ask them to keep their swords sheathed and their helmet off while they are in the city.

Question 3: Where do you wish to progress in the Guard? Probably as far as sentinel of the shadows. My skills would be best applied doing scout and reconnaissance duty rather than guarding, so I am most likely going to aim for a job that entails such things. I don't know if I will try to go any further than that - honestly, I do not like positions of heavy responsibility. I usually prefer working independently, but the nation of Malinor called me to arms, and so I respond.

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: Nurp.

How old are you?: I’m 13 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: U.S., Central Time.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes. I can communicate my ideas clearly and legibly, although I may misspell a word here or there.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I’m interested in philosophy and strategy – I love thinking in-depth on things that seem little, like which class to choose in a game, etc. I am both a person of extremes and of moderation – I believe in coming together when being different, and I’m usually flexible when choosing a class/character in a game.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Honestly, I’m afraid to think about it. When I’m not busy with other things, I can probably be playing minecraft 20-30 hours a week, maybe even more (if it’s a good server).

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is basically becoming someone you are not and interacting with others who are doing the same – this means taking on the personality, goals, strengths, weaknesses, etc. of the character you are pretending to be. I am a bit inexperienced at RP, but I’m fairly confident I’ll do fine.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Powergaming is basically like not giving the person you are RP’ing with a choice, and basically being an overpowered troll. Metagaming is using out-of-character information while roleplaying, like calling someone by their Minecraft name rather than their RP name.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server will be a mature, friendly environment where I can get a taste of both beautiful building and intense pvp.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: ] I’ve jumped around on a lot of servers, but I’ve only stuck with a few. Arkcraft, Dangazzm, and Shatteredmines are probably three of the main servers I’ve played on. I started with Dangazzm, a kind of rpg/pvp place, but the server went down one morning and didn’t come back up. A few months later I heard about Arkcraft, which had the same community as Dangazzm and was very similar to it, so I moved there. I played on Arkcraft for a time, but then that too went down when the owners couldn’t afford to pay for the server anymore, and our whole server migrated to shatteredmines, a hardcore pvp place with heroes and factions. And – you guessed it – shatteredmines went down too, and I came here, having heard of this server from some of my friends on Arkcraft. Other servers that I have been on I left because of failure whitelist systems, corruption of staff members, server going dark, and boredom.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

How did you hear about us?: I heard about LoTC from a friend on a previous server.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? I voted for the server following the forum link… it didn’t give me a number though. If you are asking for the captcha, it was something like “oiodspo 169”.

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: RandomBuddhist.

    In-Character:

    Character Name: Cursolus.

What is your Race?: I’m an elf.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): On the coldest, longest night of the year, a wind picked up in a distant mountain. It swept down, through the hills, through the trees and the rivers, until it reached a lone boy, who had yet to reach his 20th year, trudging across a snowy, frozen lake, buffeting his tattered white tunic and trousers. His regal, golden hair belied the slump in his step and the weary fire in his eyes.

Behind him in the mist, one could just make out a small wooden house with glowing windows…

Their family was one of the only few that survived in the Wilds. Because of this, his parents drove him hard. They only stayed in a home for a few weeks at most, and during that time, he was either building the house, mining for materials, or watching the night for possible intruders. He had no free time, and because of this, his favorite hobby was one of the only things that could be done while slaving over chores – thinking.

…He did not look back at the house, though…

He often thought about running. Escaping from home, from his parent’s cruel ways… but he knew he would never get very far without them, for they never taught him how to wield the sword, and thus he was chained to them in fear of perishing to bandits in the Wilds.

…His right hand rested upon the sword of iron he had stolen from his father…

He practiced only in the latest hours of the night, when his parents were least likely to catch him. At first he had been clumsy, often cutting himself and dropping the weapon, but as time wore on, he developed a predatory grace as he danced from stance to stance, the sword flashing in the moonlight. He was nothing close to a blademaster, but he knew that he could defend himself if necessary.

…but his left hand touched nothing, for it was still covered in burn marks that had yet to heal…

He had once tried delving into magic, which resulted in him almost being caught by his parents as well as a fine burn across his left hand. It would heal in time, he knew, but Cursolus decided that magic should best be left untouched until he could find a proper teacher.

…He arrived at the opposite shore, but there was a good 20 yards of unfrozen water guarding the sands. He paused for a moment, considering, then with a gritting of teeth, he leapt in…

His parents stayed late talking over where they should next go one night. Cursolus eyed his father’s sword, for if the harsh world had taught him one thing, it was determination, and he did not want to let such a tiny risk stop him from learning the sword. But he was no fool, and if the world had taught him a second thing, it was to be rational and think over his decisions before acting. Resignedly, he crept under the covers.

…The water was cold, but he knew in his heart that there were much colder things that inhabited the world…

The bandits came without warning, right as his eyes drifted shut. Leaping out of bed, he ran for the door, picking up a stave on the way out. It wouldn’t do much against swords, but it was better than nothing. However, as he ran out of the house, he relaxed, for the battle cries of the bandits made them seem much more dangerous than they were, and their front yard was decorated with bodies covered in his mothers arrows, and limbs that had been severed by his father’s sword. But as he raised his eyes, he saw his father standing over the last bandit of the group, his sword raised…

    …It was so cold…

He saw fear in the eyes of the bandit, and realized that the bandit, too, was only trying to survive.

    “No!” He cried.

He scrambled to his father, and caught his arm right as it fell, stopping the blade short. The father turned, and in his eyes was no innocent fear, only wide shock that turned into animalistic hate. He felt his father’s boot slam into his gut, and stumbled backwards. As he looked up, he saw the bandit once more with his terrified eyes, and then his father’s sword sliced through his shoulder, across his chest, out his hip… but the sword did not stop. It continued past the bandit and the tip of the weapon brushed into his stomach, and with a mutter of “Foolish boy,” his father went back inside.

…The sand and dirt in the water made the scar on his stomach burn…

Pain. Great pain, flaring into his body, into his mind, into his soul… why had his father hurt him? Why? He only wanted to help the bandit… and yet…

…He crawled onto the shore, then slowly stood…

The realization came to him suddenly. He was no longer safe with his own parents, his merciless, cruel parents. It was time to being a new life.

…He started walking again. He did not cry. He did not look back.

    He just kept walking.

Your characters ambitions: The main goal of Cursolus is to seek knowledge, explore the world, make friends, and spread his ideas of ethical living.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Cursolus would most likely evaluate the situation – if the bandits look very powerful, then he would move on his way and try to stay out of sight, if it looked like his helping out the elf would make a difference, then he would.

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? “Greetings, good merchant. What wares have you to offer?”

    In-Character:

    Character Name: Cursolus.

What is your Race?: I’m an elf.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Cursolus was born on the coldest day of the year, in mid-winter, as the sun just began to plunge from the sky. His parents treated him badly as he grew up, and he constantly reflected upon his life. This caused him to gain a philosophical mind and he began to question things – he pondered many hours over ethics, the universe, and even knowledge itself, and he strongly believed in honor. Eventually, fed up with being harshly mistreated by his parents, he ran from home into the wild. It was a hard life there, but he learned quickly how to mine, farm, and obtain the resources he needed to defend himself. But he grew restless over the years, as he realized how very alone he was, and so it was that he began a great journey. He walked for many days and many nights searching for friends – but all he found in the majestic mountains was trees and waterfalls, all he found in the great plains was tall grasses and animals, all he found in the freezing tundras was snow and ice. But if the cruel world had taught Cursolus one thing, it was determination. Jaw set, eyes hard, Cursolus challenged the gods themselves and walked to the clouds, past the sky, into the sun, and even further. He walked until he found himself tearing through the very fabric of space and time, and then, suddenly, he was in an entirely different universe. It was in this world that he finally found friends, and yet it did not last for long – soon, the sky was caving in, the world was shuddering, and darkness enveloped the world. So Cursolus continued walking. He walked into many universes, many different worlds. Through his experiences, he learned how to build strong, lasting cities, how to fight, mine, farm, wire contraptions, and even what it meant to wield power and responsibility. He forged a rational perspective of life – a perspective that helped him to survive and make good choices on more than one occasion, and behind his rational way of thinking lived a fiery determination. With this formidable duo of traits, Cursolus battled his way through world after world, fighting with sword as often as with words. And now, Cursolus comes, tired and in battered rags, still a child, to the doorstep of Asulon, ready to once again find friends and destroy enemies.

Your characters ambitions: The main goal of Cursolus is to seek knowledge, explore the world, make friends, and spread his ideas of ethical living.
