  1. Tormud nods and rises, clapping his uncle on the back and thanking him.

"My uncle speaks true, he is far wiser than his years. If he believes in you Morvan Orvar, than so do I."

Tormud kneels, and motions for the rest of his clan to do the same.

"I Tormud, Cheiftain of Clan Oknir swear to serve, and protect the united Gorundyr people of clan Oknir and Orvar. I will follow you into the void Morvan, blood of old Barid. And by doing so I name you Yagar, my honorable King."

Tormud rises, along with the rest of his clan and grins. "Now let us begin the feasting!"

  2. Tormud remains silent for awhile staring deep into the fire, collecting his thoughts. He slowly rises and looks around at every Gorundyric man or woman that had come.

"It is true, you hold the right of Barid, and the title of Yagar. Though by my honor as chieftain of Clan Oknir I cannot refuse, however, the Gorundyr people are clanfolk, they prefer to stay among clan. I fear lands would be given to the clan of your blood more so than my clan simply because you favor them more. I would only willing do so with the blessing of my uncle, Giorsal Oknir."

All eyes stare at Giorsal, waiting for him to rise and speak his mind.

  3. Tormud stands and gathers his thoughts before addressing the group.

"You are right, the men of Oren are the least of our worries now. I have gathered our supplies together upon carts, Clan Oknir is waiting to move at the slightest notice. My uncle Giorsal has been gathering our Warband, the Shields of Stone. Clan Oknir has yet fully recovered from out past war, most of our warriors killed, and our city of Oknarus burnt. I believe we should make the journey together, to insure the safety of the Gorundyric people; splitting up when we reach our ancient land will insure the safety of our young and old."

  4. Chieftain Tormud Oknir stands and nods towards Morvan Orvar. "I am Tormud Oknir, chieftain of Clan Oknir, we have come to seek out the remaining Gorundyr people hoping to insure our future in this perilous time." As he speaks he walks around the large fire that burns in the center of the circle. "As you all may know, we have made very little friends with the land of Oren. This puts us in harms way, for their devout number far more than ours. If it came to such blows I fear we may not stand up to such assaults. We must seek the survival of all our people! We must protect the young for they are our future, and strive to honor and please our gods for they are our divine protection!" He looks to Morvan ready for him to respond.

  5. As the cold intensifies and the crops stop growing altogether Clan Oknir gathers in their Ritual House. Chieftain Tormud Oknir speaks first, such is his right as leader of the Clan. "We have come here this night to discuss the future of the Gorundyr people." "I will be taking our people to speak with Clan Orvar." "All willing, able bodied men and women may join me, the rest will stay here and protect the village." With no one to speak against him they prepare to leave.  A few men and women leave with Tormud Oknir, heading towards the last known location of Clan Orvar.

    Clan Oknir

    "Forever Will We Protect"

((This clan is based around the pagan human culture, created by MajesticOwyn. It is inspired by Celtic and Norse Mythology, if curious about anything, please consult the Gorundyr lore post in my signature.))

    The Clan Creation Legend

    wallpaper.big-jmF.cs.png

Clan Oknir is an ancient clan, dating back to when the Gods bestowed life onto mankind. Though they had no written history of this time, the members of the clan pass down a very old legend. This legend follows the story of Horas Oknir, savior and hero of Clan Oknir.

When life was given to mankind Oknar, the god of craftsmen and stone allowed a few devout humans to build a village at the base of his mountain. When Maratsu was destroyed and his body put under the Heart Tree, a tomb was created to honor this fallen god. The tomb was guarded by demons and threatened the people of the village. So the warriors gathered and set out to purge the tomb. Upon arriving they found an ancient club; it is a gnarled root from the Heart Tree. When the warriors brought this weapon home Maratsu's corruption followed. Slowly the corruption seeped from the club into the minds of the people, it drove them mad, and eventually forced them to take action against Oknar, who loved and blessed them. The night before the corrupted warriors scaled the mountain, Oknar's champion Horas had a terrible dream of the coming events. He climbed the mountain early the next morning and waited, sure enough the corrupted warriors found their way to the summit. Oknar's cave was right in front of them, however Horas stood in there way. They blindly charged him, long did they fight, Horas taking many wounds but not a single man could make it past him. When all had fallen Horas bellowed at the top of his lungs and fainted, the corrupted club and bodies of all the Gorundyr at his feet. Upon hearing this Oknar went outside and found Horas and the corrupted club, in one hand he held Horas, and in the other he held the club. Oknar blessed them both and set them down safety at the bottom of the mountain.

When Horas woke up he was gripping the club, no longer corrupt, now a powerful weapon blessed by the god. Horas knew he had to thank Oknar somehow, he ventured around Savaar, gathering men and women who would follow him. When he and his flock returned they built a village on top of the old one and named it Oknarus, land of the devout. In the following years Horas married and had children, thus Clan Oknir was born. Forever have they been the guardians of the mountains and the most devout of Oknar. With his blessing they gather strong stone for their buildings and ore for their weapons.

    The Destruction of Oknarus

    The_City_of_Nym_by_DreamMaze.jpg

Many years after the death of Horas, Clan Oknir was attacked by another clan because they desired to have the club themselves. In the midst of this war Oknarus was sacked and much of the city burned, thankfully the Ritual House survived and within it the club. The war between the two clans lasted for many generations, both equally matched in power and money.

However after the fall of Oknarus Clan Oknir had all but given up. A young warrior from house Oknir, Tormud fought in the shieldwall of his Warband. His father Caelin Oknir, chieftain of the clan ordered him to retrieve and safeguard Horas' ancient club. Tormud sprinted through the ruined city and secured the club, for no one had tried to steal it, fearing the wrath of Oknar. Caelin knew that with this club in their shieldwall, the strength and might of Oknar flowed through their shields. The next day both clans gathered on the plains outside of Oknarus, ready to finish this war, and fight to the last man. Caelin ordered the Warband to form a defensive square, Tormud stood in the center holding Horas' club and chanting widly to Oknar. The rival clan charged and soon surrounded Clan Oknir's Warband, all hope had seemed lost. The Warband began to faulter, the men being chipped away slowly; Caelin losing hope, begged for Oknar to bless them with victory. Loud did Tormud scream as he continued to chant, then suddenly the earth gave way, heaving and shaking every last man to his core. Then all at once the men realized this was done by Oknar and quickly rose up continuing the fight, breaking rank and stepping over the men they slaughtered. The battle was won quickly after, the earth continued shaking, and the enemy to shocked and frightened to form a resistance.

That night Clan Oknir stood triumphant, though terribly shaken; their city destroyed, their people killed, and their Warband all but slaughtered. The Clan slowly broke apart, men and women seeking new homes and lands. Only the Oknir family remained and they all scaled the mountain of Oknar one last time, carrying Horas' ancient club with them. When they arrived they set the club at the entrance of Oknar's cave, daring not to go in, and simply left, for they believed greedy men would continue to wage war over it.

    Surviving the Scourge

After the fall of Oknarus, Clan Oknir was all but destroyed, fortunately taken in by a neighboring clan. All went smoothly and peace was kept until the "Dark Ones" attacked. The Gorundyric preists named then followers of Maratsu, the remaining Gorundyr fled south to the great Cloud Temple. There they learned the dark beings were called Scourge, together all the Gorundyr people went through a large portal, to a new a safe world. There the clans marched north, ultimately splitting off, continuing their old ways.

    Clan Traditions

    Coming of Age

The coming of age was a very important part of Gorundyr culture. It was the staging point for young warriors to finally prove themselves to their entire clan.

Doing this was no easy task, a young warrior would have to make a massive pilgrimage. They had to do so completely alone, all warriors must do this separately. By visiting everyone of the God's shrines they prove themselves their faith and courage.

When they return home they must finish this journey by visiting there Ritual House and speaking with the Gods. By doing so they are excepted into their Warband and society, if a warrior fails he he cast out and shunned.

    Ritual House

All Clans have a Ritual House which act as a sacred place to commune with the gods. Each temple houses the Gorunprestr and their servants. The inside of the ritual house is often undecorated and houses the histories of the Gorundyr and the respective clan in the form of tapestries and other written forms. Outside the building would often be much more detailed; intricate carvings, bright decorations, and seating arrangements. All sacrifices were held outside and would be followed with a night of feasting and recreation.

    The Shields of Stone

    468px-Arvernus.jpg

The Shields of Stone were named by their current chieftain Tormud, because of their strong devotion to Oknar, as well as their battle prowess. The Warband is all about standing ground and letting the enemy make the first move, their formations showing this. The Shields of Stone favor the shieldwall, like all common Warbands, but unlike most they also commonly use a defensive square, they then put their skirmishers inside this square.

The warriors of the Shields of Stone fight for money, land, and resources. Someone could buy the services of this Warband, but they are no mere mercenaries, they fight for glory and honor. This Warband follows a strict code of discipline, ever reinforcing their legendary ability to never flee or waver in battle.

The equipment the warriors bring varies between each solider, but like most Gorundyr they use hand axes, swords, spears, sometimes larger bastard swords. Almost every soldier uses a large round wooden shield covered in hide, in the center lies a metal boss for protection. These shields are held and connected by a small strap, making them very defensive as well as offensive. Warriors decorate their personal shield differently, usually with a god they favor, or a symbol of their family. Very rarely you will see men using no shield at all, wielding two axes or swords; Clan Oknir calls these men Berserkers. A more common sight then Berserkers would be skirmishers, such as archers or even spear throwers, these light troops stand behind the shield wall and throw projectiles.

The men of this Warband armor themselves with boiled leather, chainmail, and very rarely platemail. Leather is worn by every warrior, offering decent protection, making them agile and light. Chainmail is more rare, worn by the richer; offers more protection and makes them just as light as the leather counterpart. Platemail however is worn by the very few, made of iron, making them very powerful.

  8. "Aye, damn elves won't see whats comin'!" Listens to the last words of Aedric and starts to prepare for battle. Ignar pulls out his sword and begins to sharpen it on his whetstone humming a war song in his head. He leaves his armor knowing they will kill the elves and wear their armor.

  9. Aedric piked up his newest dark elf head, a hundred something male who spat on him. The dark elf head seemed to look down onto Aedric as he started to walk away.

*walks up to his father Aedric. "Oi father I 'ave two more 'eads er'. *pats the heads on his belt and grins. They t'ought they could attack me. *chuckles and rubs the pommel of his sword.

  10. "Tha' is what I shall do, my lady. People mistake us fer savages, and savages we are not."

Aedric points a finger to Patrick,

"Der's your barbarian, my queen, da' savage who provokes war..."

Aedric smiles, and lowers his hand whilst cocking his head, swiftly turning back to Kyral,

"We will talk to Wha't Roze, by the sword of me father, I do so swear."

With a confident grin, Aedric bows before the King and Queen, turns to leave, smirking at Patrick, giving him a sarcastic bow, and walks out the gates.

*Listens to his brother's words and prepares to leave, then turns to Patrick. "Ye' best ope' ye' dont see me', *spits the last words out. "ye' ah' scum. *Walks out with Aedric.

  11. Thorin's eyes bulge as he hears his uncle start to utter an insult. Thorin cuts off his uncle with a quick blow to the gut, and stares at Cynric meaningfully, hoping he had gotten the message.

*Grunts, and nods getting the message. He remains quiet until Aedric speaks.

  12. "We have better supplied armies than you, and our stocks are full of fresh new armor. We replace food daily, and the lowliest commoner, God bless his hard working soul, is fed three meat meals a day. If your men are so strong, and you are all so resiliant, how is it that Northern armies lost the North to the Undead in Aegis?"

Patrick waits a moment before talking again, letting that sink in

"You are lucky your dirty hides are allowed to grace His Majesty King James and Her Majesty Queen Kyral's presence. If I was a guard here, I would stop such dirty and foul smelling men from entering the palace.

Oren doesn't need, nor want bloodthirsty berzekers running around. We have little to no crime, and don't even need guards in the capitol because of it's loyal citizens. You could bring us nothing useful but as meat shields for braver, and more worthy men."

*Bits his lip as Patrick Horen speaks, he bites so hard he draws blood. "Ye' say my ides' are dirty and ow' I shouldnt be er', well thats because of ah' ard' work, we nobles of ah' ouse' dont sit- *Is cut off by Thorin Ulfhaedyn.

  13. Ah' ye' mad, we ave' ancestors that go back proudly' to Aegis. Ye' say we ah' wildlings, and build omes' in harsh climates. Well we du' su' tu' stay ard', not soft like ye'. We grow plenty a food, ah' stores ah' well supplied. Ye' say we ave' no weapons and armor to fill ah' shelfs, aye well thats cause wer' puttin' them on strong nothern men.

  14. Cynric Ulfhaedyn walks into the courtroom, his feet banging against the hard floor. He had heard the allocations of Patrick Horen. Hearing the words, he recognized the voice.

“That half-wit…” Cynric mutters under his breath. Cynric takes his place next to Aedric. “Ye‘…” Cynric stares directly at Patrick. “Yer’ insults to me an’ me family is all lies! Ye’ say I talk to ye’ like ye’s a whelp? Aye, I do now. I only asked if ye’ were interested in joining us as a huscarl, yet ye’ not give me a chance and spit in my face. In-Character:

Character Name: Bradash (No last name for I have left my clan to become a sellsword, upon returning I should receive one)

    What Race are you?: Orc

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): None

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Bradash was born in the town called Sanjezal, in the nation of The War Uzg. Sanjezal, like all orcish towns, was in the desert. The sand was hot and the sun even hotter, but Bradash was an orc. He was made for this; his very skin was described as leather. Bradash's hut was small and cramped. You could see many patched holes and some mold growing in the corner, though his father did not care much for looks he was all about war.

Bradash's father, Vorg, was unable to join the Krughai for he was physically handicapped. Therefore he tried his hardest to sculpt his son into the form of his perfect vision. Vorg wished his son to become a blessed warrior, his skills to rival even the gods. Vorg trained Bradash so vigorously he would climb into his flee-ridden bed and collapse, his muscles not moving an inch. Every morning he would break his fast with dry beef and runny eggs, all the while groaning.

Bradash donned greasy leather armor with chipped iron bracers, for his father wished him to have strong arms. Next he would grab a heavy wooden training axe scraped and chipped from previous days. The handle was old oak banded with even older leather. The head was dull from countless training lessons. It was of old oak aswell, for it was cheap. Bradash would attack a dummy for several hours. Vorg trained him in many forms, including Beserk, Agressive, and Defensive.

Beserk being Bradash's favorite form was fun to train. He loved the recklessness of it and how his axes would find the target without guiding hands. Vorg called this very thing Warrior Instincts, but told him not rely on it to much. Bradash also knew how dangerous it was, by always keeping his axes spinning it left him seriously unprotected. Bradash would slash left and right, always looking for an unprotected side. Bradash knew Beserk was nothing without strength and if he had a moment's rest, all would be lost.

The Agressive stance was known to Bradash, but he had no real love for it. Vorg always instructed him as if it were pushing the opponent back but keeping his perimeter under control. Bradash did this very thing by using his axe as a weapon and shield. He would attack with the head then slam them with the butt of his axe finally getting ready for another strike. He would use the shaft or cross-guard as a shield to lock up the enemy's weapon or knock it out of his/her grip.

When Bradash is in defensive he allows his fellow brother to attack the enemy. He does things that seem ***** to a normal warrior, such as taunting the enemy to distract them or to simply take the opponent's mind off of the battle itself. He would also move constantly so the enemy was to keep his eyes moving, or be given a certain fate. Bradash knows it is not the common orcish way, but in battle, certain things are needed at certain times. If the tactic works, Bradash and his fellow brother should not be hurt.

After his father died, Bradash was to use his training in real life, so he left the town of Sanjezal and sold himself as a sellsword. He ventured throughout Asulon taking part in massive battles that swayed the acts of nations. Bradash knew his father would be proud, watching him from Krug's Palace. He also knew that he was not making any impact on the orcs. A grevious thought came to him one night after a deadly battle. 'How would I be remembered among my kind if I never saw them, and how will my father be proud if I am never known to my people?' he thought to himself.

What is your Character's ambitions?: My ambition is to join the Krughai, and maybe one day become a Warboss. The only thing I have ever learned was to fight.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool is the axe but most of my brothers call it the Lusk. I prefer this weapon because it is heavy and cuts through armor and bone as easy as if it were water.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I have a great vision for any flaws in the enemys defense.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): I have to use a link for my application is too big. It gives me no room to upload a screenshot. http://s1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/Dontbepissed/?action=view&current=2012-04-05_233136.png

He ventured throughout Aegis taking part in massive battles that swayed the acts of nations.

I was trained in the arts of blood and fire, I feel I would be a key peice to the puzzle.
