    candydeath13

    Character's Name:

    Dain

    Character's Age:

    279

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable):

    Half-Elven

    Transformed form:

    Soul Tree

    Creator's MC Name:

    Matt011011

    Creator's RP Name:

    Milo

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

    A Druid with a soul tree is one who has ascended from their mortal form, into one closer and more in tune with nature;

they have been seen as trustworthy devotees of the Aspects, Nature, and the Druidic Order itself, and are role models for

Druids and Dedicants alike. Being granted a soul tree is considered a great honor only the most deserving of Druids can attain.

A Druid with a soul tree must undergo a dangerous ritual that involves growing a sapling through themselves, and using the

tree as a symbiotic host for their soul, which in turn allows them to be reborn, if successful, though made entirely from the

wood, bark, sap, and flesh of their tree. Inexperienced Druids and Druids without additional help risk a much higher fatality

rate, though all Druids, depending on who is helping, if anyone, how they are helping, where they are growing the tree, and

so on, run a certain risk of failure. If the attempt fails, the Druid must PK their character; agreement to these conditions before

making the attempt is a must.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:

    No

Do you agree to keep the MT updated on the status of your magic app by using the Magic List Errors topic?:

    Yes

Do you consent to accepting what may happen to this character?:

    Yes

Have you applied for this creature on this character before, and had it denied? If so, link the app:

    No

Note; Milo has been inactive for a long time; this character created the soul tree 3+ years ago, this is just for records, as I've just been made aware of the need for a CA. Several other Druids can attest to this character having had a Soul Tree for an extensive amount of time, thus his age.

  2. Note: Had an accepted application for this character, cannot find it.

    MC name: candydeath13

    Character's name and age: 131

    Character’s Race: Half-elf

What magic/s did you learn?: Druidism: Nature's Communion, Control of Nature, Blight Healing

Who/how did you learn magic/s?: Taught by the Druidic Order. Previously taught by 12werbles12 after previous MA was accepted, continued after they were removed.

Offer an explanation of said magic/s you learned:

    Nature's Communion:

A Druid may use their connection to the Aspects and Nature (attunement) to communicate with animals, plants, and various living parts of Nature, within reason. Calling for aid, issuing commands, and so on are within the spectrum of potential uses.

    Control of Nature:

A Druid may use their attunement to "control" plants, fungi, and so on, be it growth, movement, or otherwise. This one is generally left to the creativity of the Druid using the abilities. It's been used for everything from growing crops to making plant-sculptures.

    Blight Healing:

With this subtype of Druidism, a Druid can purge taints and blights from Nature. This can be used to rid dirt, plants, or other parts of Nature of diseases, infertility, etc. In Anthos Blight Healing was used as a risky way of removing Scourge-taint; risky, as unlike Clerical magics, Blight Healing simply expels magical taints, as opposed to destroying it. This led to a certain Druid becoming corrupt and causing trouble for awhile.

  3.     Minecraft name(s): candydeath13

        Skype ID: candydeath13

Time zone: EST, though I tend to do events late-night as well.

Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: Nope!

Do you hold / have you held any other staff positions?

Throughout the majority of 3.5 I was on the event team, as an intern, but I was removed upon leaving for an indefinite hiatus.

What MMORPG/video games have you / do you play? (Past and Present)

Halo, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Rift, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fable, Kingdom Hearts, Elder Scrolls Online, LotR Online, Neverwinter, among many others. I tend to stick to my RPG's and FPS's :P

What are your characters? Are you willing to sacrifice any to become a Event member?

Huh. Well. I have and have had TONS of characters (more now than my previous application for ET), and have given up many in the past, not just counting event characters. Currently, I have Dain (a powerful, old, male half-elf Druid), Jotham (a fresh-out-of-the-oven Druid, also male), Elwin (a human girl with a temper and a passion for books), Morana (an elf woman who has a sick sense of humor), Alex (a powerful Cleric, male), Annie (a human girl who used to thieve for necessity, but has since found a better life), among others. Dain, Jotham, Annie, and Alex are the main four. I've given up several in the past, and have gone inactive on others, and am still willing to do so if necessary, of course.

What race / group do you think your events would best cater to? If none in particular, give an example of the type of group that your events would entertain.

I tend to avoid specializing in particular groups. While I have the ability to do so, I prefer to pull players from different groups together, if at all possible. Some events could be specialized, but I tend to shape them around the group that was chosen at the time, after the idea has been thought out a bit. For example, passersby on a road might be targeted, or a particular area that would be active in a time when the server was low on people.

What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?

I believe there are several key factors of an event, somewhat changed by my experience on the ET. I think a successful event has to be adaptable, flexible, fun, interesting, balanced, and give the players cookies.

Adaptability/Flexibility - ie, not rigid. An event shouldn't be limited to a single outcome or set of outcomes, so much as present a case in which the players must create their own outcome. A creature with a single weakness isn't as fun to battle as one that can be defeated by many clever ways, thought up by the players.

Fun! - This one is kind of self explanatory. Both the ET member and the players should enjoy the event, but the ET member should put the players' fun slightly ahead of their own. If you're not there to make fun and interesting RP for others, why are you on the ET?

Interestingnessness! - Bland, dry events aren't all that interesting. People get more involved in something when they like it and are interested in it. Give the players some suspense and mystery, or an epic storyline to go with a the events!

Balance - I feel that events should be balanced, so to speak. Not too much conflict, not too little... not too much damage, not too little... if you have an OP creature, give it some drawbacks, if you have an challenging puzzle, have hints or something if necessary.

Cookies! - Well, I don't mean literally give them cookies. Usually. But events should be rewarding at the end! Don't let a player feel unimportant or disappointed at the end, and if they do something that takes time and/or effort, give them something to show for it, even if it's just a mundane object with a special name or quirky description!

When was the last time you saw a event?

Uh, the day before yesterday. Player made event, for the Druids! It was quite interesting, though I and two others were the only participants for the start of it; I think it's going to have several parts.

What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? Are you knowledgeable in lore or great at organizing?

Well, I'm creative, in multiple ways. I can come up with events with ease, as well as build and do redstone, when necessary. I'm fairly knowledgeable in lore, and actually quite good at organizing. I tend to do specialize in non-combat events as well, though am quite capable of doing all sorts of events.

Why do you want to be part of the ET?

I want to be a part of the ET because I enjoy creating fun roleplay for people, and making my ideas a sort of reality, ingame. I enjoyed it in the past, and honestly loved just about every aspect of it.

Create three distinct RP scenarios/events that you would organize. These are pitches to the Managers and Ouity, not to the community. Note: Not all of the group must be handled at once. Eg: 20+ people via 5 person increments in a dungeon.

            1) For 1-3 people:

    The Haunted Prison

A lone prison sits abandoned, it's eerie halls webbed and cracked. Players would be led to the prison in RP, then trapped inside. The prison, filled with a handful of Gravens, would be a death trap; bits of rubble and unstable masses strewn around. The players would have to interact with the Gravens, some friendly, others not so friendly, some sane, others not so much. The Gravens, having each been tortured and killed by order of their cruel warden, made a pact to get revenge upon him before their demise.

The players then have a choice: try to escape on their own, or aid these sketchy, criminal spirits in their goal, who may be their only way out?

            2) For a group of 5-10:

    The Festival of Seasons

Whilst traveling along the road at night, players would see a lone firework shoot up in the nearby forests. Should they choose to investigate, they would find a small feast laid out, various festivities arranged in the small clearing, with a few people celebrating the change of season; food, beverages, games, etc all laid out. Players participating in the event would interact with these characters and participate in the small festival!~

            3) For a group of 20 or more:

    The Reign of the Sloth

A old man with a cart full of cages walks onto town. As he passes through, he sets each down and opens them; every street corner, every house, everything has one. Upon waking the next day, the residents would find nothing out of the ordinary... except for sloths everywhere! Sloths on buildings, sloths on streets, sloths on window sills, sloths on sloths! The sloths would hang from ledges, get in peoples' ways (slowly), and be a general nuisance, albeit an amusing one. The old man returns later with tons of riddles, a kindhearted soul, and asks the inhabitants one after another. After each successful answer, he'd pack one up into a cage, and tote all the cages off at the end of each day!

Naturally, it doesn't have to be sloths... but sloths are kinda funny >:D

How long do you plan to stay in the ET?

    As long as elvenly possible.

        Tell me a joke:

    Comic Sans.

  4. Well. I suppose many people who've read the title (or else were one of the few whom I've messaged seeking advice on this decision) have already guessed the topic here. I've decided to leave, officially. Why? Many, many reasons. LotC has changed since I joined... it's no longer a novel, wondrous place, it's old, it's tiring, and it's somewhat stressful. The community, at times, can be toxic, the staff are dysfunctional, the server overall has moved towards Minecraft instead of towards RP... I get on to roleplay, not to play Minecraft. Now, most of the people I've RPed with have left, moved on, or had something happen otherwise IG or irl that prevents me from RPing with them anymore, and I'm left with... what, creating a new character? I've done that countless times. Every time I manage to get some enjoyable RP, something comes along and screws it up, irl or otherwise. My devotion to LotC is great, suffice it to say... but it gets in the way of other things. I've slowly become inactive due to irl things happening to prevent me from playing, and am supposed to come back from hiatus in a week or so, probably less, at this rate. But... I've decided that I shouldn't, for many reasons. Since I've been inactive, I've been more social than I've been in a long time... I've started dating someone, I've socialized a bit with people, albeit a tad awkwardly, and gotten past many of the things that LotC used to essentially serve as stress relief for. But it doesn't anymore... and I still have to deal with them, and more. All it does is add to the pile, at this point, since I (like many others, I believe) am fairly invested in my characters, emotionally, and since I can't really RP them anymore at this point, and am not sure if I should in any case, I need to step back and reduce the number of things that are adding to the pile, and move on with life. It was fun while it lasted, for the most part, but sadly, I think it's time I left, at least for now. When will I be returning? No clue. Eventually, I hope. But with the start of college soon, and many other time consuming activities that I'm sure to be getting involved in (hopefully including a job), I need to have less distractions in my life, and again, less adding to the pile, no matter how small an addition it is.

So... bye, for now, I guess. <3

A small shoutout to an armful of people who made my experience on LotC as wonderful as it has been. You are the best kind of people; we need to mass produce you. Like srsly. Sorry if  leave anyone out, I still love you all anyways <3

TL;DR:  ... Either read the damned post, or don't. Either way, you can guess the topic. </3

Oh, and to answer a frequently asked question that people seem divided on, when it comes up:

    > Yes, I /am/ a guy. <

      Cheers, Freya <3

As a minor side note, I'd like to add that I will be cleaning out my contacts list. Most people on the first list will stay, all those in the second will. Basically, people I never really chat with or have no reason to chat with anymore. Sorry <3

EDIT: Done. If you're still in my contacts, you're staying there for now ^^

  5. While pleased with many of these changes, I still question the necessity of having a minimum age. Is there some issue with RPing children under the age of five? Wonderful RP has stemmed from it, and frankly... how do characters even have children anymore, assuming the plugin's age requirements are followed? Two characters have a child in RP... but the child simply doesn't exist/isn't RPed until the age of five? One or two years old is when they cease to be helpless infants and start learning to walk and talk, and are past the stage of being carried around constantly like the wool blocks they tend to be represented by until that point. What about all of the characters who were under the age of five beforehand? Fixable by modreq, but in the long run? Five years in game is two and a half months in real life. That means nearly three months after conception before your child can actually be RPed by anyone. Again, that's assuming people will follow the age requirement, which I've already seen has been largely ignored, and I think it will continue to be, even if an official rule was put into place, as that would either arbitrarily force people to age their child characters several years, or force PK on them.

  6. An aged man in a white and blue robe stands and makes his way to the front of the room, a wooden staff knocking on the ground with his steps. He glances at the people in the room, recognizing some, then sighs and speaks.

"I am known by a few different names... Frosty, Dain, and the Frost Druid being the most used... but Rosso knew me as Dain. Rosso... was a good friend. In my time of need, when all else had failed me, and I was left homeless, broken, and without purpose... he allowed me a home in Vaerhaven, and in there I found not only a purpose... but many friends, he among them. He had his flaws, albeit a great number of them... as do we all. He was a good friend, a great man, and a wonderful Jarl. I only wish I would have had the foresight to tell him so before he passed... and spent more time in Vaerhaven, tending the clinic."

He pauses, his expression hardening somewhat, and he regards those present almost coldly.

"While not the closest of friends, he could always call on me in an emergency, and was always there for me to ask advice of when necessary... he never told me much about himself in the way of family, though in the end I learned all I needed to know. He was never afraid to do what needed to be done, for whatever cause, and for that... I respect him. Were there some way to speak with him on the matter of which I speak, Aspects willing, I would give him only forgiveness."

He turns to Daniel, expression softening once more, and he nods to him in greeting.

"Pleasure to meet you, if I haven't already. My memory is beginning to escape me it seems these days. Your father was a wonderful man, and I'm sorry to see him go."

He makes his way back to his seat, sitting down solemnly.

  7. Hello, this is Arzar and Candy, and we're making some art :3

And by art, I mean renders of characters in various poses, locations, etc.

Some things to know: We will be working with Mineimator to create the images, and will be doing so for free. Donations of minas are appreciated, and those who do give minas we'll probably end up getting to faster, but they aren't required :P

We will need the form below (at the bottom) filled out, so we know what we're doing, and have everything we need.

(Here there would be various poses organized in spoilers, just a couple for now)

Note: As more art is done, more poses will be saved and can be reused and picked from.

    Combat Poses:

    Additional info:

The images are done as time allows, so some will take more time, others less, but we cannot guarantee that they will be done quickly, or even that they'll be consistent, so please be patient. :3

If you request something that is offensive, vulgar, or violates server rules, we will obviously not make art for you. Period. We reserve the right to refuse to make art at our discretion, and not make them in any particular order. <3
