  1. Kahn asks the priestess what she is laughing about. After hearing what she has to say, he just sits. "Kahn ees nu sl'aev tu enegh huemin." He gets up and leaves the Tavern, on his way to pray to Metztli for guidance.

Have you read and fully understood Kharajyr lore?: Yes, I have read it and I understand it.

Have you read and fully understood the Kharajyr application rules?: I have reviewed the application rules and I do understand it.

Do you understand and accept that the Kharajyr application team may revoke this application in the future if they deem it necessary?: I understand this very much.

Do you agree to both follow and uphold Kharajyr lore throughout your time in the Kharajyr?: I agree to uphold the title of a Kharajyr role-player.

Tell us one unique fact about Kharajyr lore, culture or history that you know.(We will check for plagiarism!): When I read the lore, I stumbled upon Metztli and the connection between her and the Kharajyr. I found it most interesting when reading a sub-part of the ‘Kharajyr on Heaven’ and it talks about how they imagine death as superstitious, but welcome it as they head ‘skywards’ to heaven, and remain there as stars. It made me think of the part in the Lion King where they are in the grass, wandering up at the stars, and they talk about what they were. It was the part where Simba replied as the stars being ancestors watching over. Loving that movie as a child to present, it gives me a nostalgic love for Metztli and I really appreciate that little bit.

    IC Information

RP Name (This includes your character’s prefix): Si’Kahn

    Character Sub-race: Kha’Pantera

Character appearance (Including age and gender): Si’Kahn is an average Pantera. He is male and his age is 19. He is an average height of six feet with average characteristics. He has dark, green eyes that hide in his dark, black fur that is the same over his entire body, ears and tail included. His fur is a little on the neater side as he keeps himself groomed for Metztli as for his superstition that cleanliness will keep him in good graces to his ‘Mother’. He has always kept himself tidy and wears simple attire because he believes in selflessness and to indulge in fine wear would be selfish for his social class. Simple, dark, brown cloth around his waist that dangle in between his thighs and a simple, brown strap that splits over his shoulder and under his arm for his sheath of arrows or bag of catch are the only things that clothe Si”Kahn.

What is the personality of your character like?: Si’Kahn has always kept his mind to himself. He remains average and his intellect is advanced, but nothing of a genius. He shares a particular passion for Metztli and a younger Kha’Leparda, by the name of So’Jond. He never speaks out, he focuses on his faith and studies because of his virtues in selflessness and respectfulness towards the higher class and kin of his own or lower class. He does have a slight underlining superstition towards certain parts of his faith, but nothing that quirky and out of the ordinary. He is just another, average Kharajyr.

Biography (If you are applying as a kitten, please only state the name of your parents/siblings) Born into an average family, Si’Kahn has never been in high status. He grew up with two parents who were both strong-believers and always enforced the faith and study upon him, eventually the drilling got to him and he did it himself more often than not.
As a young cub he grew up with a kin Kha’Leparda, So’Jond. So’Jond was a year younger so he was always like a little brother to Si’Kahn. Because of this Si’Kahn learned the values of responsibility, leadership, and brotherhood. At the end years of being a cub and being allowed to play often in the nearby meadows, So’Jond and Si’Kahn layed in the meadow, prayed to Metztli that they may remain in the stars with her and that the ocelots whisper the secrets of their good-will. After that they both slit their paws with the small, chipped claw of a dead ocelot that they had found and mourned over in the forest. They clasped hands, prayed, let tears drip, and embraced brotherhood. As Kharajyr you remain as close kin, but through their ritual they have become closer than fellow kin. They have become blood-brothers.
Si’Kahn was in his age of younger adolescence, his birthday had been two weeks earlier and he had been bragging to So’Jond for being switched to the advanced study class. So’Jond never minded this heavily, but often tried to make Si’Kahn late so he would be punished for his tardiness. A slight teasing of ‘brothers’ rather than envy. One day, before their afternoon study over the Daemonic Intervention, they wound up in an old part of the forest that they played in as little kids. The nostalgic place led them to enjoying the leisure. Si’Kahn laid by the flower patches, under the shade of a tree, grooming his fur after it had ruffled from crawling through the brush. So’Jond climbed a tree during that time and was shooting one of his bows. He kept shooting the little roses with his arrows and some landed near Si’Kahn. He didn’t mind this, but eventually asked him to stop. So’Jond complied and fell silent for a while. Si’Kahn became busy with collecting the arrows.
Before he knew it, the sun was setting into dusk and their study was soon to start. Si’Kahn quickly looked around for So’Jond and found him nestled between branching, snoozing soundly. Si’Kahn stabbed the arrows into the ground to hold them there and mounted up the tree. He pulled So’Jond’s arm around his head and hoisted his limp body into his arms. He descended the tree with great care, not to disturb the Kha’Leparda. He was down too slowly and knew he didn’t have much time. He dashed over to the arrows, crouched down with So’Jond, and tossed the arrows onto So’Jond’s chest where they would stay. Si’Kahn whipped around to their entrance and dashed through, not caring of the strangling twigs and brush. He broke through the other side, twigs and leaves in both of their fur, So’Jond still sleeping heavily. Si’Kahn pushed on, his face scrunching together as he tired and carried on. He ran through the streets, catching eyes of passing kin, and turned to the building where they were to study. He pushed through the doors with So’Jond’s legs and passed through the hall into the room, finding only a couple other, young Kharajyr sitting on the benches. He breathed with slight relief and advanced to a bench in the back where he laid down So’Jond on the edge where he could nook into the arm of the bench (Similar to the branches of the tree). Si’Kahn sat beside him and waited for the lesson to start or for So’Jond to wake up. When the instructor entered, calling the class to attention So’Jond woke up easily and looked around the room, looked over to Si’Kahn, gave a wry smile and tilted his head back into the arm to rest longer. Si’Kahn felt a surge of good spread over him for a second. He knew he could do good things in his life and that he could serve his ‘Mother’ well.
In his later life, Si’Kahn was waiting by his window, the night before his birthday, praying and wandering his gaze at the stars, looking for signs of his ancestors. His mother stepped into his room, stopping in the doorway, leaning against the frame, and spoke soft words to him. He only looked at her when she walked in and returned his gaze back to the stars. He looked out as she said, “I hope you sleep well tonight, they say that when the Humans turn this age they start their life of adulthood. Maybe you can start your life as an adult, too.” She gave a hollow laugh at the end of the sentence as his parents have always had a disliking towards Humans. He just kept his gaze, keeping his thoughts to himself. He didn’t want to, though. He wanted to turn to his mother and tell him that he already has and he will do anything to make his parents proud and to worship Metztli.

Character’s ambitions within the Kharajyr: Si’Kahn wishes to find his place in the world. He is ready to make change to better himself or worsen himself through the eyes of his faith. He wishes that he may find himself to make an unexpected change. He knows he can carry out his life doing fellowship and live a good life, but he sometimes hopes for something more...more.

Character’s strengths/weaknesses: Si’Kahn always felt himself comfortable with knowledge. He has never found himself to be the most intelligent of his age, and he doesn’t excel as quickly as the Kharajyr who strive to find their trade through knowledge. He has never been the strongest of the Kharajyr, nor has he been the weakest. He is good with a bow, but never thought to excel in it because he chose to devote his time studies than self-indulgence. He keeps to himself which makes him come off as quiet, but he has enjoyed time before. He is more serious than fun, and that comes off as intelligent, yet cold, to some. He has always led those who needed help and has always followed from those in charge.

    Situational Roleplay Questions
    1. You are heading home from a successful hunting trip when a group of three heavily armoured humans jump out from behind a tree and start demanding the surrender of your catch over to them. Each man has a sword drawn and they are gradually pacing towards you...

How does your character react? Si’Kahn narrows his eyes as the humans run at him, their sloppy feet running over each other slowly in their heavy armour. He just wraps his catch over his shoulder and ties it to his strap and turns and lead them to the gates of the city. He has to jog just so they can continue after him. He even allows them to swing at him a couple times. He almost feels like having fun with them because of their inability to harm a Kharajyr due to the swiftness of our race and the slowness of theirs. He nears to the gates where the guards are. He calls to one of them, “Raazhen! Si’Kahn need assistance!” The guard turns to Si’Kahn from his post and sees the loping humans trailing behind him. Si’Kahn quickens his step and advances into the gates, leaving the humans and the guards in his track. He turns to face the humans and sees only the swift blows of the guard as he easily takes on the humans. A deed he deems only those who were given the position should do. He turns on his foot and carries on to home to feed himself and his family his catch that had tossed around and tangled on his shoulder. He noticed one of them had slipped off on the way and so he just sighs and carries on. He knows he will have to ration his food so they can eat. A sacrifice he will make when he gets there.

    2. You arrive at the temple of Metztli only to see one of your closest friends stealing the sacred blue gems from the altar, a most unholy act for a Kharajyr.

How does your character react? Si’Kahn calls out to him, the Kharajyr looking up in horror. Si’Kahn advances over to him as he tries to put the gems back, oblivious that they have particular places. Si’Kahn grabs a tuft of his chest fur and pulls him to a few inches to his face. He narrows his eyes and just stares into his eyes. The Kharajyr shudders from the look his own friend gives him and he knows. Si’Kahn lets go, and whispers to him, “Si’Kahn has seen you. So has Metztli. Si’Kahn will not stay quiet and you condemned to justice.” Si’Kahn stares at the Kharajyr and hold the gaze for a second longer, then walks away, disappearing from him to inform the redstone priests of the corruption.

    3. You are in the Cloud Temple when a stout, angry little dwarf begins yelling highly racist terms towards you at the top of his lungs. Although unarmed, the dwarf continues to yell after he makes eye contact with you.

How does your character react? Si’Kahn sighs as he walks to the dwarf at a fast pace. When he gets within a foot of the dwarf he crouches down, and puts a grip on the dwarf’s beard, letting the dwarf yell obscenities. He uses his other hand to hold the dwarf still as he begins to thrash at him. The dwarf quits his sprawling and breathes quickly after he yells a few more times. Si’Kahn uses this chances to whisper to the dwarf, “Begone or Si’Kahn make sure you never breathe again, filthy silverfish.” Si’Kahn rises from his position, letting the dwarf rise with him, then letting him fall a few feet to the ground. A few monks walk into the room, look over and ask what was happening. The dwarf begins to make lies as Si’Kahn calmly looks to the one who looks to be most in-charge and tells him, “Dwarf making disrespect to Kharajyr and to Temple.” Si’Kahn nods to the monks as he heads out, hearing the monks shoo the dwarf out of the Temple where they will deal with the matter later. Si’Kahn not sticking around long enough to see as he doesn’t want anything to do with the dwarf, as he is a dwarf.

    4. Fire has broken out over the jungle city and you can hear the screaming of two Kha’ nearby. As you go investigate, you notice that one of your friends and the Tlatlanni’s white-furred child have gotten themselves trapped in opposite ends of a burning building. The roof creaks above you, if you were to get involved, you would only have time to save one before the building collapsed.

How does your character react? Si’Kahn looks to his friend, knowing he has lived a longer life than the child and forces wet tears from his eyes both from the sadness and his intellect. He begins to advance towards the child, stepping in paths of bare dirt where the fire won’t spread and dodges limbs that begin to catch. He calls to the cub to come as close as possible to him, and the cub does so. Si’Kahn can feel his eyes beginning to get hot and the tears from earlier are beginning to dry out. He can only imagine how the cub is managing. As he thinks about this he is able to go through motions slightly subconsciously and makes it to the cub where he pulls its head with his hands to assess his face. Tears stream from his eyes and Si’Kahn knows his vision will not be harmed. Si’Kahn uses his paw to brush off the falling tears and rubs them over his own to keep them wet as he is too mature to cry in this situation. He pulls the cub into his chest as he covers it with his arms. The cub nestles against his body and he can hear soft sobs emitting from it. Si’Kahn turns around to face his entrance and notices that it has begun to spread dangerously. He whips around in a few directions before he finds a side along some new trees that don’t burn as quickly as the dead ones. He can make it out a few yards, but notices that at the edge the fire has overtaken his exit. He makes it to the edge of his safety and looks into the depths. He intakes a quick breath and begins to sprint with the lightest feet he can manage. Fire begins to lick at his feet and tail, his only protection is his fur. He can feel it singing with each step and tries to rotate the pace even further. He only has 50 yards left to get through.
       He keeps running...40 yards...
He begins to lose his breathe and can feel it getting harder to intake oxygen...30 yards...
Limbs collapse around him, one falling across his shoulder, sending it ablaze. He lets his weaker arm free and swats at it, putting it out after a few seconds...20 yards...
He is unsure whether or not his tail has caught, but he can feel searing pain from behind him...10 yards...
He does not care if he burns to death, he will give this child a future, sacrificing his own if needed...
From the other side Si’Kahn runs about 20 yards further away from the fire before letting the cub drop from his grip and he falls to the ground, passing out from low oxygen, the burnt parts of his feet, his shoulder, and his tail. The little cub crawls over to Si’Kahn and begins to lick his shoulder as he sobs while Kha’ guards rush over from the edge of the fire.

    Full Name: Alexander Hemli
    Current Age: 23

Sub-race (if any): A Human of the Northerners

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Alexander was adopted into a religious family as a small child. His father a priest in the major city of Salvus. His mother, a teacher of the religion, but of lesser power. From the beginning Alexander was interested in music. So, for one of his earlier birthdays his father had a woodsman craft him a lute. Alexander wasn't happy. He wanted a drum, but his father taught him a proverb to be content with what you are given. So Alexander practiced in his spare time and grew to love it.

At an older age Alexanders father was beginning to sadden from his churches lack of visitors and the losing of faith in the city. So Alexander began to play church hymns throughout the city. Then, on the days of gathering Alexander played his lute for the people to enjoy the sweet strings that vibrate under his fingers. Soon more instrumentalist began to join in and began a church orchestra. It was truly a spectacle and many people marveled at the talent. The faith in the city climbed and his father was once again a happy priest.

Alexander grew out of his old habits once he marked the age of 22 and consulted his father that he believes his duty lies elsewhere and that he must write a new beginning. His father was displeased with the departure, but knew that Alexander must do this for himself. Alexander promised a year more to stay to teach an apprentice the art of the lute. Many were happy that the sound of the lute would not be lost among the orchestra, but the apprentice and the followers knew that the skill could not be matched to Alexander's talent.

Ambitions for the Future:  To become a house bard for an imperial home and to acquire a drum just to rekindle the old, nostalgic memory of his childhood.

Personality:  Alexander carries morals of caring, respect, humbleness, and chivalry. However, because of his careful outlook he is unable to acquire the confidence of a great musician and will ultimately prevent him from bestowing true masters in his trade. He grows aware of this and finds his time trying to become a more confident person, but sometimes testing his confidence implements a feeling of ungratefulness and cockiness from others.

Skills:  His father taught him to sing to the heavens with his crystal voice and he carries his walk with a lute and the skill to play away with dancing fingers and imagination lingering in people's minds.

He wears a comfortable, white shirt with a blue vest to accent it. He has average black pants and shoes to walk in. Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
    ------

    1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Begin shouting a tune, while picking up my pace and pulling my lute from my back and begin strumming as I head over towards the figure. The drift of my voice and my lute will direct the attention of the guards. To goad them in if they do not become cautious of the figure would be to switch to a tune that uses poetic devices to emit a sense of danger in the morale of the people. Hoping the emotion will rattle the guards to suddenly feel hostile and go towards the man.

    2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: The initial reaction would be to keep to my own, but the sense of righteousness would overtake. I would then keep calm as I make my way over to them, sheathing my sword and pulling out my lute, and hope that they see this and can come to part ways without parting my ways. (body)

    3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: I would ask him if he carries any tools to repair any damages to my lute. I would review my lute and notice a string that keeps going flat in tune. I would ask him for a fine string. We would haggle shortly as it is not a skill I possess, but I would barter him a tune and a fair dosage of coin. If he were to say yes, then I would pay, switch and tune the string, then begin to sing a made up song about a haggle between a blind man and a greedy man. Only till the end of the song would you realize that because of the greed, the greedy man was truly the blind one.
