  1. This post... I agree! I mean, having a lack of halflings has been a problem since always! Sometimes there's a huge increase, but after that, a gigantic decline. Why this is, I'll never know! But recruiting them might be a good idea! Maybe hand out maps of Lenfarthing to non-halflings that you trust IC and with a little OOC encouragement maybe JUST MAYBE they'll create a little hobbit of their own! :) Oooo, and more festivals would be nice! I actually think it'd be interesting if there were Halfling Holidays just so we can celebrate together~ And as for making characters different... It's true! The average farmer can get a bit plain sometimes if you don't give them enough quirks! Halflings should feel free to step out of the box as diversity isn't necessarily shunned as long as it's not completely against the lore and/ or laws!

Dat is all! :P *rolls away*

  2. Pebble (( Roxanne ;D )) creeps into the Hollowmead Hovel and peeks at the invitation addressed to Bili. She grins, a hint of sadness on her face as she chuckles. "So me Lil' Julie's fin'lly gettin' married, eh? This Bolo fella' betta' trea' 'er righ'!" She carefully closes and reseals the letter, breathing in deeply before turning away. She quietly leaves the burrow hoping no one had seen her. (( Hopefully I can make it! :) Wouldn't want to miss m' sista's wedding~ ))

  3. Telanir, I don't really know you, but I'd like to say... You're great! :3 SMALL THING THOUGH IF IT'S NOT TOO MUCH OF A HASTLE! I think it'd be mo'e convenient if you linked us to their profiles so we can say hi! :D Because some people ( i.e. Me. :P ) miiiiight be too lazy to search them! If not, LETS NOT BE LAZY PEOPLE! LETS LOOK THE NEW MEMBERS UP AND GIVE 'EM A WARM WELCOME! That is all! :)

  4. ~Discovery of a Child and Disappearance of a Halfling~

(( Smooshed this in before Anthos so you guys could have a new babby with you on the ship! :3 Honestly though, it's kinda sad... :( WARNING: Long post... I got too excited. :P Feel free to skip to the bottom for a TL;DR! xD ))

Silence. Silence rang loud and clear through the empty lands of Elysium. Upon the ashen grounds and dilapidated burrows of the New Vale, a pale halfling lady, seeming to be made of bones, sat still like a statue. Her sunken face, framed by scraggly strands of dull auburn hair, was stained with dried tears, but her eyes, one grass green and the other, sea blue... Were empty.

A young and curiously small halfling girl, perhaps close to the age of four, observed the dry ground surrounding her and giggled, plucking at withering flowers. She skipped toward the woman, the yellowing grass receding beneath her bare feet. She smiled as sympathetically as a little child like her could, acting as though she understood the woman's sadness. Taking the flowers, she placed them in the palm of the older halfling's hand and wrapped her arms around her. "Flowe's.. fer ye, mummy..." Finally the still lady shifted, cradling the girl in her arms. Roxanne held her daughter close, crying softly.

After her first child, Roxanne knew, felt, she was sickly, that it was unsafe to birth another. However, she didn't have the heart to tell her husband, Bili, this and went along with it, praying to the Pumpkin Lord that the baby she'd give birth to would enter the world, even if it meant that she'd have to leave it. As the baby drew nearer and nearer to being born, a feeling of impending doom formed within the back of Roxanne's mind. She grew paranoid and unusually depressed for a halfling, so when the rest of the tiny folk relocated to Kalos, Roxanne stayed behind. She hoped to have the baby on her own, so the others wouldn't have to see her pass and would eventually get to meet her child as well as care for her when Roxanne wouldn't be able to.

On the day that the baby was about to be born, a lively lady halfling visited the New Vale, thinking that it was where the hobbits lived. A messenger, she said she was, just passing through, but when she observed Roxanne's condition, she couldn't bear to leave her alone. The messenger ended up aiding Roxanne through the birth and her illness and acted as her caretaker for years after. And the child, though scrawny, was, thankfully, healthy. However, the same couldn't be said for Roxanne.

She was bedridden for at least a year, leaving the messenger to care for the little one. Even when she could stand, she was much weaker than before. Frail, like an old lady. However, Roxanne did make an effort to spend time with her sweet daughter, yet she'd started to act much more... Detatched.

Roxanne knew that her end was inevitable and that she'd have to let her daughter go. She sent her child and a small note with the messanger to travel to Kalos in search of the other halflings, mainly Bili, and gave them both one last goodbye. She told them to not to come back for her... That she would be with them soon enough. "As a spirit," Roxanne thought.

The door to the Hollowmead Home creaked loudly as the messenger shuffled inside. She set the little girl down on a bed and handed her the worn note, smiling weakly. "Give this t' yer daddy, a'righ'?" The four-year-old looked up at her with large eyes, one grass green and the other, sea blue. "Daddy...? Bu' I dun'... 'ave a daddy..." The messenger chuckled slightly and patted the little one's head. "Actually, ye do darlin'. Ye'll be stayin' with 'im while yer mummy is..." Her voice faltered, not knowing what to say. Roxanne's daughter nodded slowly, and the messenger scooted out the door. "Jus' stay 'ere 'til some'un fin's ye. I... 'ave t' go... G'bye, darlin'..." As the halfling lady left, the child opened the note in her hand.

    Dear Bili,
I'm sorreh I wasn' able t' be with ye fer all o' these years... I missed ye, bu' I ain' 'ealthy anymo'e an' by th' time ye read this lette' I may be d- *the word is crossed out with a blurry streak of black ink* I jus' wan'ed t' say tha' I loved ye an' I go' a presen' fer ye! Our little girl...
    G'bye me love,
    Roxanne

The girl squinted at the note, unable to read any of it. But she ran her skinny fingers over the crossed word and was able to make out the letters: D-E-A-D. She didn't know what that meant, but I'm sure you do.

A pale halfling lady sat by the docks, breathing in the green grass and the blue sea.

(( TL;DR: Roxanne had a babby girl! But Roxanne is no longer with us... JK, she's not exactly dead. Her status is more... Unknown. I just felt the need to explain where she is and has been through a post, y'know? :P

Okey dokey, den! I'm sowwy, but I'll probably be taking a break from the halflings for a bit. I'll be back though! :) I could neva' leave all o' y'all be'ind! :D STAY JOLLY HALFLIN'S! ))
  5. (( *thumbs up* I like it! :) It's a great post, and with a couple more things, can be even BETTER! :P I like Ionmaster's idea of having tree based houses! Buuut if you don't want to live in trees, then maybe you can make your homes to look like one. Having tree bark as walls and leaves as a roof. And maaaaybe you could add some sort of leadership roles or something! :D Just a thought~ ))

  6. Halflings on the Temp. Server!

(( Alrighty! So, this post is basically going to be about everything the halflings do on the temp. server! From OOC suggestions, to RP rambling! My goal here is to bring us together a bit, as it seems all the halflings have dispersed or just plain disappeared. :o I know you Elders are on the build server, making 3.0 a better place! ;) However, I would like to see a couple more halflings just get on and have a mug o' ale er two with EACH OTHER! Not by themselves! :P I'll hopefully be updating this main post with extra shtuffs when they pop up! Feel free to give tips on what we should do next! Or something else I should add to here! :D ))

(( First off, here's a tiny scrapple on our village for those of you who might've not even known that we had one! I know, Aris made a post on this already, but.. Phooey. ))

Loretta Peppertoe stomps through the snow, surrounded by the layers upon layers upon layers of it. After a somewhat short while of walking, she shovels her way to the shipwreck, staring at the tall pillar in which a small sign saying something about taking boats is placed. On this pillar, she nails multiple flyers with maps attached. Their contents look like so:

The writing on this document looks childlike and has a good amount of misspelled words, as though written by a fairly illiterate person. The painting looks blotchy with splashes of random color all around, however seems oddly welcoming.

Come all ye' halflings ter our lovely settlement:

    Brookfields!

    Oq3WA.jpg

Here, thar be food, ale, farms, shovels, n' all sorts o' halfling-like thingmabobs! We even got a handful o' vacant burrows n' job openings! Hope ter see ye' soon!

    - Loretta Peppertoe

I fergot somethin'! If ye' dun' see me around, talk ter Arseny! He'll know what ter do!

A tiny map is drawn on the bottom, along with a description of the path. "Go from here ter Twinbuck! If ye' get ter the openin', thar should be a sign pointin' towards Brookfields. If not.. Jus' follow the map, aye?" (( x: 421 z: 373 ))

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

    (( Next, I have a jobs list! :P ))

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Loretta, after placing her flyers, bumbles back towards town with one more paper in her hands. Once back in Brookfields, she sticks the slightly large piece of parchment onto the notice board, examining it quietly. It reads:

A large amount of space is still left on the paper. Small words are scratched onto the bottom:

If I fergot somethin' feel free ter leave a note at me doorstep! (( PM meh! ))

  7. *gasp* ARIS DON'T GO TO THE DARK SIDE! Naw, I'm kidding, but this is actually something that's pretty important! If halflings go by themselves and colonize and all that jazz, I think we should just make ourselves one huge burrow on the island! :P With rooms and things so we're like one big famiwy. :3 If not, and we go hang out with some other race, maaaaybe we could be travelers/ wandering halfling group and enhance everyone's lives with our merriment! :D *cough* Except for orcs because they'll just eat us.. *cough* Just my two cents y'all! :)

  8. On a windy morning in the Vale, Roxanne waddled over to the notice board, her dress floating around her and giving her a somewhat ghostly figure. She squinted at the new note on the message board and pulled a crumpled piece of paper from her pocket. Noticing the large sign next to it with Dofur's name she sighed and rolled her eyes, stifling a laugh. Smiling, Roxanne scrawled a name calmly and swiftly, as though she need not to think who she would write down, and dropped her vote gingerly into the box by the inn. As she shuffled off she giggled quietly to herself. "Elde' Bili 'ollowmead.."

  10. HAELUN'OR CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION:

    Name: Katia Lunette

    Truename ((MCName)): Randomness710

    Origin: Born within Haelun’or.

How can you declare you are Mali'thill: As stated above, Haelun’or is my birthplace; therefore, it is likely that I am pure. Moreover, my parents as well as my aunt raised me according to Mali’aheral traditions and usually boasted about our family being of the most genuine high elven blood. Although there may not be any legitimate evidence, I hope that you will believe that I write the truth.

Why do you wish to become a citizen of Haelun'or: For these past years, I have been living with my aunt in Normandor. However, I have grown weary of my life there and hope to start anew amongst other Mali’aheral inside the city’s walls. I would also like to contribute to the ever growing intelligence of our race.

What is your personal vision for our blessed race: I believe we are superior to the other races; we possess nearly no limits knowledge wise. It is completely admirable because Mali’aheral never cease learning, and are always open to new discoveries.

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you: To me it means that all these things: wisdom, development, health, and spirit: are all one and to truly live, one must balance them to create harmony within their lives.

What Elven phrase do you particularly take to heart? Please explain why: Although I do not currently have one in mind, I hope to learn from the rest of the Mali’aheral and find a phrase that I sincerely believe in. In addition, I am still in the process of re-learning our language, so I may not understand everything.

What is the subject of the first book you will submit to the college: Poetry or Observations of the Valah.

What would be your reaction if you ever saw a human, orc and unknown Mali'aheral travel the roads from Alras together: I would pursue them while in hiding to see whether the Mali’aheral was being kidnapped or was simply impure. If the first, I would search for guards or someone of the sort to aid the elf, for the uruks are violent creatures that do not understand reasoning. If the second, I would return to what I was currently doing, sighing sadly at the loss of a once pure elf to the infection of the mind caused by the Valah and Uruk.

What home would you like to receive:

Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the council:
