  1. Not sure how long you've been gone but we've moved to a magical new land called Anthos, the white rose exploded, humans got owned by orcs, dwarves built another wall in two days and the new antagonist is ravaging the world over making it look all netheracky and scary!

P.s. Stay away from the conclave

    In-Character Information

What’s your character called?: - Aris Snowbird

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Human (Halfling)

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - Ninety-Six

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - Aris was born near the beginning of Asulon. After escaping the desolation of Iblees' minions, the Snowbird family settled down in a quiet vale along with other Halfling survivors. They formed the town that would later be fondly remembered as Branborough. The Halflings had long been renowned for their skittishness around the other races, but this was a trait that was especially prevalent in the Snowbirds. Aris' parents rarely let him go and frollic in the glades with the other young Halflings for fear that he might be harmed by the surrounding wildlife. But Aris, ever the gregarious and to a lesser extent, deceitful young lad; would often sneak out while his parents were sleeping or helping build their new village. Aris would go out to play a game of shogs or pester fat Elder Tibb with his hairy-footed compatriots as often as he could.
Even as he grew older, Aris never lost his jolly outlook on life. He could oftentimes be found drinking barrel fulls of his favorite Apple spice mead with friends such as Bili Hollomead or Odo Underfoot. Of course, it wasn't all fun an games! Aris tried to help around his now flourishing village whenever he could. Sowing golden fields as far as the eye could see, or filling in as the village locksmith when there was a need. In this, he was content; though no good thing can last forever. When the mass exodus of Asulon came, Aris was forced to move away from all he had worked so hard for. Sailing across the ocean in a large bio-fueled barrel ((not even joking)) with the rest of his little race. The Halflings stopped at two large islands before finally settling in a land named Anthos. During this turmoil Aris and others stood as a rock. Doing their best to guide other halflings as well as build new homes and keep the dreaded outsiders away. Though he wasn't the best of leaders, he did his part in helping the race in whatever way he could and for that, they were truly thankful. After things settled down, Aris renounced his job of leader. Content to go back to his old, happy way of living.

What are they like (personality)?: - Aris can be occasionally grumpy in his old age but he is otherwise usually jolly. He enjoys drinking with old and new friends alike and usually tries to be helpful in any way he can. Aris is afraid of most outside races and tries to stay close to home unless forced to go out on adventures or other business.

What are their ambitions?: - Aris aspires to do great things, such as locate his long lost walking stick, as well as pass on his meager knowledge of the world to younger halflings. He also wants to live long enough to just become a village Elder by default and then banish his arch nemesis Bolo.

Do they have any special skills?: - Aris is skilled in farming and cultivating different types of plants, he also has some minor knowledge in metalworking though he is a bit rusty (pun intended). In addition to these talents Aris can also bake cakes pies and cookies with the best of them!

What are their weaknesses?: - Since he's rather old, Aris no longer has the athletasism of the younger halflings. He is of course -being a halfling- rather short and has serious problems getting items off the top shelf. Another minor setback is the fact that Aris fights about as well as a basket of Shiftnative's shorn beard hairs.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Aris is an elderly man with silver hair and a small bald spot on the back of his head. He has two mismatched blue eyes and an underwhelming five O'clock shadow beard that he's been growing for the last two decades. Aris is pretty pudgy from years of eating tasty Halfling treats and drinking hardy ale and he can usually be seen dressing like your great grandmother.

Anything else you want to say about them?: - Nope, that should be it.

Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - iNQrgTw.png

  3. how do you lock the stuff

You would need a V.I.P. status (Edit: Iron or above) to have access to the command for locking chests. Or you could get a friend to do it for you. Otherwise I recommend hiding your valuables under a block or in a secret chest.

  4. (Fredegar will need a burrow. What are the directions to the new area?)

((Was wondering the same thing. Also I'd be happy to help with any building being done.))

Aris pipes up when he see's the halflings hard at work "Oi'd be content with a 'ole in te ground if ye lads could!"

  5. ((Are we going to have any new regulations on locks? It's just going to get tiresome having everything you own disappear every few days. Mabey we could just lock our front doors, and keep a passcode that all the trusted halflings get? Also if somebody could tell me the new location that could be nice...))

Yes, now that we're moving to a more active place locks will be encouraged.

  6. Aris Snowbird waves his shovel in the air "I'm 'ere, doin' alrigh' but oi could use n' Applespice ale if ye'd please!"

((Probably wont have time for eldering in the near future so if you need to elect someone to take Aris' place feel free!))

The annual grand Halfling harvest has finally finished. Halflings all over lenfarthing shed their overalls and farming tools to lazily drink the day away. Halfling celebrations are in full swing with burrow-warmings and ale drinking contests but everyone saves some room in their little round bellies for the finest feast of all. Notes are posted on the notice board and outside inviting other races -except orcs- to come join in the festivities.

    Come one, Come ye all!

The annual halfling feast of Knoxgivin' is finally upon us!

Come forth and stuff yer face on the finest home baked halfling treats, sweets and meats.

O'course there'll be parteh games, dancin' and a great Tourney O' the finest game in all Anthos, Shogs

Te party'll be on the ((30th of November at 3pm Est)) and we're looking forward to all O' ye attendin'!

  8. Another idea might be to shoot it from the view of a new halfling coming into Lenfarthing. You could walk around in a pre-set pattern and come across different halflings going about their daily activities or just generally buggering around (with possible yorkshire accent voice acting to enhance the video). it would be a good way to not only show off the town and all it's little nooks and crannies but also the Rp (If it existed that is :P).

  9. Aris hobbles out of his burrow for the first time in years to be present in the funeral. After much sniffling, drinking and a hard talk with Posco he heads back to his cozy burrow. He takes his trusty golden spade off it's display hook and rests it next to his bed. Dousing the fire Aris hops into bed before the munchkins can grab at his exposed ankles, making sure to get good rest for tomorrow's return to eldering.

((Thanks for all you've done for the halflings Bolo! You've been a driving force in this little sleepy community, planning many an event or festival and making some hard decisions even if others disagreed with them. It's going to be tough loosing you man, but I wish you good luck with life. Hopefully you'll be back some day soon!))

  10. ((Is Birc still active? If not we might be able to give out his old tree to someone of another race provided we enjoy their rp. We normally have a very small handful of players from other races to spice up rp. It's just a matter if we think they'll cause any trouble or ruin rp.))

  11. Gamle Irongut locks himself in the Brewery cellar and cries from all of this bullying and harassment.

"Ah'm a manleh dorf! W-w-why can' dey jus' leave meh alone!" he sobs.

Poor Gamle here is a victim of bullying. Bullying is running rampid through many areas around Anthos, with kids ganging up on other kids, and abusing them, either verbally or physically. Using words like "edgy", "noob", and even kids calling to "1v1 irl". This is a serious issue in many Anthos communities, even Lenfarthing. If you are a victim of bullying, please attend the weekly "Grow a Pair" meeting, in the nearest town. If your town or city does not provide an annual "Grow a Pair" meeting, deal with it, or contact your local "Grow a Pair Foundation" representative.

"Mah name is Gamleh Irongut, 'n ah approve dis message."

((You think that's bad bullying? You should see Milo on skype!))

  12. it's funny cuz Aris made that

Anyways, I'm thinking we're gonna need a new layout for the new Halfling area. So I gave it a shot cause why not (it might be crap).

    Gtb8XL3.jpg

    Green = Forest and Shizz

    Yellow = Farms and whatnot

Orange = Lil' Halfling landmark maybe a statue or something

Light brown circle = Big inn (Some one come up with a name for it)

Red = Festival Area / Shops

    Dark Brown Turds = Burrows

    Grey = Docks

Blue dot near the wheat field = Mill/storage area

Purple dot near lake = Water Mill/ Place to rent lil boats and fishing rods

I made a nice little in game render of Picasso, I mean uh... Posco's map in the actual current 4.0 cloud temple island. I used 2x2 pumpkings to give a little bit of scale.

From the (sort of) map view:

    t0511g.png

From the main gate just off the road.

    91ayat.png

    From the mountain.

    161ayc3.png

It's a little bit smaller than len but... If we all band together and everyone is okay with living in 2x2 holes on the ground I think it should be perfect! :)

  13.     So, since we're brainstorming about other things besides the map... what's the opinion on 4.0 burrows? We usually slightly change styles when we change maps so, here are some of my ideas. I'll just say, I'm not a very good builder Inb4 Dalek insults my ideas.

Instead of having the normal shire style where most of the exposed outside of the burrow is just dirt, my idea is that we have more prominent wood details on the outside with a grass roof. The grass and dirt would still come all the way to ground level every once and a while but there would be a lot more wood on the outside than there is in Anthos. Another idea would be to incorporate some colored clay on the outside to break up the monotony of just having wood and grass. It would probably used as more of a focus block for the burrow. Here's another concept image.

So, what ideas do you guys have? As I said before I'm a pretty bad builder so hopefully some others can run with these ideas and make some unique burrows for the 4.0 map!
