  1. Aerin casts another line into the lake, and props the fishing pole on a nearby boulder. He begins to write a letter back to Braxis in charcoal on a nearby tree stump.

    "Braxis,

This is all very strange, and I find it hard to take in that our old patrons abandoned us. However, I trust your faith in Taharae, and this Aengul will lead us to greatness. We should talk.

    ~Aerin."

The letter is sent back to Braxis.

  2. A letter is sent back to Eledyr, a black raven swoops down and drops it at his feet.

    Cleric Eledyr,

I agree, perhaps we should come up with a meeting place first, yes? I would believe Malinor would be a suitable meeting place, due to the high concentration of clerics in that area. Not excluding the fact that some members of the order would be persecuted in Oren. I still wish to see the Clerics spread the light across the realm, and I believe a meeting could help us do so.

  3. I'm just going to point out this change doesn't really make a lot of sense. And before one of you point out this is a "clarification" and not a change. This might be a clarification of lore that was written, but it also a change in how people play their characters.

The reasoning behind this makes no sense. For example: the traits. Okay so if half-breeds reproduce they have a chance of making a pure blooded elf/human. Lemme explain. Uppercase is for dominant, lowercase is for recessive. Curses are dominant, no curse is recessive. So if a half elf has alleles Mm for mortality, and Ff for fertility; that would make them die young and be infertile, makes sense so far. When they breed with another half elf they have a one out of eight chance to get the good recessive traits, and make a 'perfect' half-elf. Also the half-elves also have a 1/4 chance to produce a pure human or a pure elf. See the probrem here? It doesn't make sense to have the races differ by a single allele.

EDIT: Also if this is the lore, People can just say they happened to be the "perfect" halfbreed. And keep the good traits of their parents, but none of the bad stuff.

Completely ignoring the science, this would create numerous plot-holes in the game world. Why did half-elves live so long until Elysium? A lot of characters would spontaneously die for absolutely no reason. It doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it.

  4. Actually, this is also happening even if you are not using the forums from a different device. Different browsers do not really affect anything as well. It's primarily a forum issue itself. With our DDoS protection provided by CloudFlare, it constantly switches IPs to mitigate attacks. Because Tythus added this new "one-device-only" add-on, it is recognizing new IPs as different devices; ergo, it is something that cannot be fixed ourselves.

I've tried to contact Tythus about this, but he's a bit... lax to say the least.

I'll yell at him this time.

I was about to say that I don't log into LOTC on my phone. And that using Chrome was never an issue for me since October. I was thinking it was cloudflare... Anyways, thanks for the help.

EDIT: I think I fixed it; don't have two tabs open of LOTC open at the same time when you post.

  5. ((Awww...))

((I am just going to assume that the Order was in Aegis.. And just roll with it :P))

*High Pala. Therinsrift sits lonely in his temporary home, the roof not done, and his life torn.*

*Therinsrift calls for a bird, and one arrives. He takes out a piece of damp and old paper, and writes to whomever finds it*

"I send this outward, to anyone who may find this letter.

My name is Therinsrift, High Paladin of the Order Of The Clerics and currently settled in a small home that I carved into a mountain.

Whoever finds this is either on this land, and aware of the destruction of our ships heading to 'Asulon', or out of this dread. And if you are out of reach of this area, then I speak to you and ask for any guidance you may have.

I have wisdom, and strength and a loved one who could be giving birth as I write this.. But I am ignorant in many ways as to where we are, and why.

    - Therinsrift

    Fall of Aegis, Lost Lands"

((I never saw the Order in Aegis... I thought they were replaced by the ascended.))

  6. I'd like to point out that the only good part of the old skill plugin was that it didn't work half the time. Lord of the Craft is not an MMO. Grinding takes people's time away from roleplay. You can try to prevent people from being an amazing jack-of-all-trades. But, it is impossible to do without grind or heavy moderation. Two things this community wishes to do without. EDIT: And, if you want to make it less restrictive; EX: A Blacksmith can craft longer-lasting swords. Then, it's a waste of code.

  7. Aerin looks around and sees no one suspicious approach. He says to the sariant as he approaches the gatehouse:

"I'll be back here in a moment."

Aerin pokes his head around the corner and sees that the basket is missing.

He shouts back to Jonathan Black:

"The basket's gone, and whoever put it there hasn't come."

Aerin sighs as he approaches the stables:

"I don't suppose a Sariant could assemble a search party of the local guard? I'm not really familiar with the ranking system of the Black Cross."

  8. Aerin is wearing gray cleric robes with his hood up, and he says to the Sariant slowly:

"Aye, just the basket. There was nothing on the note; but I wrote a message on it incase if whoever put it there wants to check up on this stunt."

Aerin looks at the sunset in the distance and says to the Sariant:

"I wrote on the message that whoever did this should meet me at the stables at dark. Our best bet is to wait there."

He starts walking towards the gatehouse and says:

"If you want to help you'll wait with me there."

  9. EDIT: Didn't realize Tornadowatch posted will fix :P

Aerin stares blankly at the blank paper for a few moments realizing he risked his life for nothing. Aerin shakes his head as the Sariant yells. Then he says to the Sariant:

    "Aye... Strange times."

He takes out a piece of charcoal and scribbles on the note:

"Meet me at the stables when it gets dark."

Aerin turns to the Sariant and says,

"I've been investigating into this, want to help?"

Aerin mutters as he drops the note into the basket:

"I will get to the bottom of this."

  10. After Aerin gets the snakes away from the piece of paper, he plunges his hand into the basket and takes the note. He drops the wooden hoe on the basket of snakes and steps back a few feet. Aerin begins to read this mysterious note hoping to find out more about these snakes.

((If somebody can pm me the note, that would be awesome.))

  11. Pastor Aerin heads towards the cathedral in Arethor and hears some hissing coming from near the notice board. He mutters as walks over to the basket of snakes:

"What is that noise? And, what are all of those purple snakes there for?"

As Aerin looks over the basket his eyes widen as multiple snakes slither in the basket and mutters:

"Is this some kind of sick joke?"

As Aerin is about to turn away he notices a small piece of parchment inside the basket and says to himself:

    "That's interesting?"

Aerin walks away from Arethor towards the Cleric fort and thinks to himself that he is going to regret this.

~An Hour Later~ Aerin walks through the city gates while wearing rusting iron gauntlets with the faint symbol of House Tarus engraved on them. He walks towards the snake basket and says to himself:

"This is a really bad idea..."

Aerin looks under his gauntlets and thinks to himself: "Snakes can't bite through plate, chain, and leather; I have to find out what this snake business is all about."

Aerin wraps some more leather around his arms just to be sure... Then, he starts moving the snakes away from the paper with the wooden hoe, keeping distance between himself and the snakes.

  12. *Roy looks at the previous offers and tops them*

I'll give you 350 Mina for all yer' Iron, and you will owe this Knight a favor. You need anything, ask for Ser Roy Angus.

    -Ser Roy A.

*Roy finishes the small note and signs his name and places a couple of pieces of hair on the note.*

    Aerin scribbles under this offer.

"To be clear, would I owe you a favor, or would you owe me a favor?"

  13. *leve a note pinned*Ill pay ye 117 minas for all ye iron

Aerin walks up to the noticeboard and scribbles something below this offer.

"I don't know who you are, or how to contact you. How could I take up your offer if I do not know these things?"
