  1. Out Of Character

    Minecraft Account Name: aljoford

    How old are you?: 14

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Pacific Time (America, West Coast for more clarification.)

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes, English is my first language. (Not internet.)

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

A somewhat average teenager that likes to play minecraft a lot. Been playing Minecraft since 1.3, Roleplaying on Minecraft since 1.6. Tried alot of servers, but never seen one that looks as promising as this.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

25 Hours a week is how long I could be in, if I find myself very interested in the server.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying to me, is taking on the life another, controlling their actions, their appearances, their personal interests, everything about them you take on the role of. Roleplaying shouldn't have things like 1337 speak, or anything that a Normal human being would do in real life. When you Roleplay you assume the role of another person, and act out part(s) of their life.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

A lot of Roleplaying experience, actually I've played on at least 3 servers, which has strengthened my ability to roleplay correctly.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Metagaming is a type of RP breaker that occurs when a player uses OOC information in IC. For example, a friend on Skype tells you about an awesome vault that has full diamond armor AND tools set, he says he mined it all, and its cool to take it. He made sure its REALLY well hidden, you would never think to find it there. If you choose to take the armor and/or tools, that would be metagaming because you knew exactly where to go OOC, but not IC.

Players have been knowned to get banned for doing this.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Powergaming is when you perform feats a normal character couldn't, like breaking ripping someone in half. In short, its when you perform OP (overpowered) actions with a character that isn't a god. Players have been knowned to get banned for this.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

A fun, decently serious, dedicated RP server.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

The Land of Aswein, Roleplay Revolution, and The Vault RP. I haven't technically left aswein or roleplay revolution, but i rarely get on. The Vault, however, I left because the admins were all dicks who couldn't take losing an RP fight because they thought we were un-prepared and would lose or surrender when we saw them. You can see me and 3 other players leaving on minecraft forums if the admins haven't deleted it, (if they can that is) if you look hard enough. (Dont bother, its really an annoyance to look, and not much was said on the forums.)

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes.

How did you hear about us?: A friend who plays on your server actually, his IGN is i_am_Ricky

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes.

    In-Character:

    Character Name: James Phelps

    What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): No sub-race.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.)----------->)

James was born in a small fishing village that couldn't be found on any map up to date. He grew up learning multiple ways of how to fish, through netting fish, spearing fish, fishing with a rod, even shooting fish with an arrow. Most of his village used a bow to defend themselves, but they also trained in swordsmanship. James never had many friends, as he is sorta shy. He has brown hair, and green eyes. He wears a type of arctic robes, one that always kept him warm. On the day of his 16th birthday, James decided he wanted to pursue a life of happiness elsewhere, so he asked his parents if he could leave. His parents were reluctant, but they let him go. He packed his things, and left for the bigger, better world outside his small village.

James eventually traveled to Asulon, hoping that he could settle in Arethor and set up a stall. He hunted for his food, and occasionally traded with other vendors. It took him 2 years to reach Asulon, and is now on his way to Arethor. He is now 18, still wearing his bulky robes and hoping he can achieve his life goals. Where the adventure would take him from that point, would only be known through his travels, in the kingdom of Asulon.

    What is your Character's ambitions?:

James wishes to become a succesful merchant, find the love of his life and marry her, and live a peaceful life.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Bow.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: Archery.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): http://i.imgur.com/0U6G0.png

Other Information about your Character: Nothing really.

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?:

James walks on, keeping his head low hoping he wont have to deal with anything. Then, one of the warriors turn to him, saying "Oi, you there, care to give us a hand? We can pay ye." The halfling alternatively says to him "Please sir, Have a heart! Save me from these-" The warrior hits him in the face with a wooden club, as a warning. "Quiet ya little impurity, your only good for making your drinks." "Like I was saying, Care to help us?" James says to them: "What do you need me for? You seem like you have the situation quite under control." The warrior replies: "We hear this halfling has quite a load of minas in his house, problem is if we leave he might run off and tell a guard." James replies: "But there are two of you. Surely one could hold the halfling down, and the other could rob his house?" The warrior replies: "Huh, I didn't think of that." The warrior draws a sword, one very finely crafted. "Say anything to /the guards, I WILL kill you. I swear it on my life." James nods his head and walks away.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?:

"Hello sir, I'm looking for a bow, and some arrows if you have any in stock. I'd also like one fishing rod if you have that in stock as well." The merchant replies: "Well yes, I do happen to have bows and fishing rods, but your out of luck on the arrows chap. Try next week, when i get restocked. Feel free to browse my selection, however." James replies: "Sure thing, thank you."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Opportunistic, James takes the iron bars but leaves the sword. Then, an Elf walks inside and draws his bow and loads an arrow into it. "Put the iron back and leave now, thief. Before I make a hole in your head." James becomes very frightened, putting the iron back and leaving the house sprinting.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?:

He approaches the food vendor "Hail traders,do you know how much I can get meat for 50 mina? If you have information pertaining to how I could exit this forest, I could pay you for it." The trader replies: "You can get 5 cooked pork-chops for 50 mina, and as for the way out, we can have one of our guards show the way out for 25 mina." James replies: "That seems reasonable enough." The merchants nod at one of the guards, and takes James to the nearest road.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Negatively, James packs up his things and gets ready to move onto the next town. He had no purpose there aside from selling his wares anyways. On his way out, he notices the bandits left a chest full of iron bars abandoned on the side of the road, so he takes them and gets on his way before anyone notices. Before he can reach the nearest crossroads, a bandit notices him, and begins to charge at him with an Iron Axe. James isn't surprised a bandit deserted the fight, the town guard had gathered a lot of people. James swiftly grabs his bow, and fires an arrow at the bandit's head. It goes directly into the bandit's eye. James puts back his bow, and retrieves the arrow from the bandits eye. He then picks up his pace and gets moving to the next town, which is thankfully only half a mile away.
