  1. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:

    Adventuretimer98

    How old are you?:

    14

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    Western Time, United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes, I consider myself a grammar Nazi.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am an athletic 13 year-old who enjoys playing Baseball, Football, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3, but most of all: Minecraft. I have a strong sense of morality and a compelling urge for justice in all situations.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I am normally on once or twice (if I’m lucky) a week. I would be able to play for one or two hours at a time unless I’m on the road on my portable hotspot – then for about 5 hours at a time.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

I know that roleplaying is where experienced Minecrafters get together and use their skills to transform the game from a virtual non-real thing to more of a reality with an actual world, life, and faction. Roleplaying is the game type of Minecraft in which you act out a life of a player depending on the characteristics, qualities, and occupation of that player to the very best of your ability for the good of the roleplay game.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

The only experience I have in roleplaying is when I’ve been sort of a city prefect in my friend’s private server. I was Lord Protector over monsters and keep the city streets clean of them when people were about and I built city buildings as sort of a community protection agent. Other than that, I have no official roleplaying experience.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is the act of using knowledge that you’ve gained about the game that other players do not know to gain an upper-hand advantage over them.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-Gaming is the kill-and-run style of minecraft. It’s when you kill your enemy without giving him a chance to retaliate or attack back. For instance, if I came upon a villager with his back to me and I took a fire aspect III sword, sliced him with a sprint-hit, and killed him without giving him a chance, that would be power-gaming

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I believe this server will be like a real medieval world in which the law is pressed, criminals are not tolerated, and the administrators bring justice and do right to the players. I have seen my close allies, ‘ReconSoldier96’ and ‘Hacker_Ex’ play on is before and it looks peaceful and fun to play on for everyone – not just the wealthy player.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on multitudes of servers – city servers, private servers, survival servers, pvp servers, and others. I leave the majority of them because the administrators are power hungry and will kill citizens for fun, everything is mostly griefed and disorganized – however, I know this server will be different.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

    Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

    On all my honor, yes.

How did you hear about us?:

My close allies in arms, ‘ReconSoldier96’ and ‘Hacker_Ex’ told me about the server.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

Yes, I have made two previous applications. The first was declined for lack of definition of Meta-Gaming, violence, and a sense of power-gamy-ness. The second was declined for incorrect example of Meta-Gaming, violence, and the same sense of power-gamy-ness. They both include my username, ‘Adventuretimer98’, in their subject titles.

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there.

    In-Character:

    Character Name:

    Joshua Litoris

    What Race are you?:

    Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

    Northerner

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Not many can say that they truly believe they had the best father possible. I must be one of many. He was honorable, valiant, but most of all, he cared. He cared for peace to the region, he cared about the future, the second generation. He cared about us. Nicholas Litoris, my father, raised two boys in his lifetime. He was a visionary. He taught us courage, loyalty: first to God, second to each other, and third to the King. I, Joshua Litoris, and my brother, Richard Litoris, share that same goal to this very day. Being my older brother, Richard had two years on me. We grew up in a cabin in the Nothern Woods. When I was only seven years old, (making Richard 9), my father began our training in chivalry. We held the properties of chivalry in the utmost respect and strove for that height. Our lessons began with morality, learning about our Lord God in Heaven. Next, he personally taught us swordsmanship and combat: how to disarm your foes, slay them, and win the day for the King in a fair, honorable fight while giving your enemy a chance to also prove his worth. We also learned of archery, horseback riding, and even farming. He spent utmost care in teaching us how to treat a lady with honor and respect while defending her to the best of our ability. By the time we had completed our training, we had mastered the skills necessary to begin our journey to knighthood. I will never forget the day he saw us off on our journey to gain the status of Knights in the Holy Oren Empire. He said, “Remember your lessons, boys. But keep in mind above all else: guard each other’s backs. You are bound to each other as brother to brother, always seeking the betterment of the other. Should one go down, the other with him. Your swords belong to each other, and the use of them likewise. You are to remain together and seek honor. This brings purpose to our small and fragile lives. It puts a fire within us that our adversaries cannot match. No weapon in this world, and no arsenal of weapons in this universe is as formidable as the honorable moral courage that I ask of you. Now go. Make yourself a name. Make me proud.” I am now 19 years of age and have just made my way to this fair land of Asulon with the accompaniment of my brother, Richard. I am of athletic build, my muscular, swarthy features the mark of a true soldier. Years of travel through the hard wilderness have tanned my skin, and hundreds of cold winter nights have toughened my brother and I beyond return. I have dark brown eyes, so dark that one can only tell the difference between them and black by standing inches away. My golden hair falls in heaps to my shoulders, and my garb matches my appearance. I heft a sword like a kitchen spoon and fit arrow to the string like a minstrel hushes an audience. Death holds no grasp on my brother’s and my thirst for honor and glory in this new, sophisticated land. Pray, God be with those who stand to stop us.

    What is your Character's ambitions?:

It is my chief ambition to achieve true merit and honor through service. I wish to remain loyal to any King I may someday serve, and to fight valorously alongside my brother, Richard, for the Phoenix Rangers in the Holy Oren Empire. I will risk life, livelihood, and my very being to serve with honor, valor, brevity, purity, and loyalty in the Holy Oren Empire as my father would have me do.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

My weapon of choice is the sword. Traditional as it may appear, my brother and I wield the sword as a new genre of skill. We push it to new heights as our father taught us long ago.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

I am extremely skilled at swordsmanship, foresting, agility, and stealth (usually in the forest).

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

    Please see attachments.

    Other Information about your Character:

A list of my characters skills and qualities are as follows (including negative attributes):

    Skills:

    Swordsmanship

    All Properties of Chivalry

    Swordsmanship

    Stealth

    Agility

    Public Speaking

    Leadership

    Subterranean Exploration and Survival

    Acrobatics

    Negative Attributes:

I oftentimes use unconventional methods to achieve a desired result. Call it untraditional. I call it resourcefulness.

I am helpless when it comes to potions and magic.

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

I cannot step in the broad daylight for fear of compromising any efforts of justice, so I hide behind anything in sight and listen for a moment to figure out what the matter is about. When I learn they are trying to steal money from him, I step into the open, unsheathe my sword, and ask them what they were doing to the halfling. Because I always carry money and resources on hand, I even offer to pay the warriors myself for the safe passage of the halfling. If they respond hostile and continue to harass him, I step between the warriors and the Halfling and shout to the halfling to run. I defend the halfling as he gets away with my life.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

My suspicions show their true colors as I do not trust him very quickly. I reply first with a polite, but cautious ‘Good day’. Proceeding carefully, I continue to ask him what he is selling. Should he be selling useful materials to my fighting campaign such as iron, diamond, food, or archery supplies, I ask him of his pricing. Depending on what I have on me and what supplies I need, I make careful judgment from there. However, I always demand that my business partner pay first, then I after him, but never go back on my word.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

I immediately recognize the iron as a potential sword. Because the hut only appears abandoned, I linger in a nearby tree, scouting the area to see if anyone is nearby. Realizing that the residence is possibly gone on a long journey or even across the river at a friend or relative’s residence, I limit myself to two conditions. 1) If the residence is there, I ask him his price on the iron bars, which are always useful for a soldier such as I. 2) If the residence is out, I leave the iron bars and perhaps post a sign outside the house letting the residence know my name, city, and offer on the iron bars. I forget about them unless the owner contacts me.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

If hungry therefore: Food = Life. No Food = No Life. No Life = Death. No Food = Death. Therefore I must have the food. I always carry coal, sticks, food, money, a sword or two, and whatever armor I have. Seeing as money is for buying things and there is no use having it if you’re dead, I offer a high price that nobody would refuse at first thought for a sustainable amount of food in a very properly accented, business-like tone. Should they refuse, I must resort to invoke pity on them, telling them of my occupation, my situation, and possibly offer my services to them for a short time. In no case would I raid the trading camp, though I could do so in a heartbeat. Regardless of whether they allow me to buy food, I kindly ask the direction to the nearest city.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Seeing as I am a warrior, and one who despises bandits at that, I offer my assistance, weapons, and food to the storehouse and battlefield of the village. Bandits should not be tolerated because cheating and raiding is never right. I accept the reward in the end because I must find my way back to the Holy Oren Empire, which requires a good sword, food, torches, and some left over money for trading should I stumble across another camp.

    Melchior Vassalson

    What Race are you?:

    Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

    Northerner

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

I have a dark past. My father was a headhunter. He was also a spy for many kings. He was also your best friend, and more likely than not, your worst enemy too. His heritage is muddled; stories are flung telling of a gruesome bounty hunter with no honor at all, and some tell of a fierce, valorous fighting assassin for various knighthoods. I was orphaned, found, and brought to live in the city Praetoria in the far North, and from what the steward tells me, my father died distracting a horrible flying beast in (old wives tale albeit) in another dimension so his three friends could escape by a dynamite explosion that only an iron golem could withstand. The beast was never slain.

When I was ten years old and the happy days of roaming with the other boys of the village through the dark jungle were over, the King of Praetoria set a law to enlist every young man twelve years or older, or otherwise of significant strength, agility, bravery, and sense of patriotism. So I served my duty in the King’s army as a swordsman, training every day to battle whatever he should throw his guard in front of. In my spare time I would spend a little time learning the craft of making armor, but for the most part I roamed through the jungle climbing the tallest trees while mashing man-sized spiders and living dead for long hours to build my skills as a swordsman. Long story short, I mastered the art of swordsmanship. The type of sword made little difference; as long as I was holding something sharp, any obstacle would find a piercing in its flesh too large to patch.

Time came for war far after I had learned swordsmanship and foresting inside and out, and I was deployed with a my legion to sift through the largest jungle on the map right off the edge of the Praetorian walls to locate a valuable artifact. What it was – but more importantly, what was guarding it – they never told us. As we were searching I found it quite by accident when I leapt off a giant jungle tree into a deep pool of water. To my surprise, it didn’t end. At the bottom was the largest squid I’d ever seen or heard of in my 20 years guarding a bag full of strange glowing spheres. Knowing that if I died down there the army would never find it, I tried to swim to the top. Realizing that I wouldn’t make it before being eaten alive, I shot an arrow straight out of the pool into the air to get attention just as the squid’s maw closed around my waist. The legion, having been alerted by the arrow, rushed to the rescue and buried all 999 arrows into its flesh… one of which traveled straight through my fighting arm. Due to this, I was placed in an infirmary and told I might never fight with the sword again. Horrified at the concept, I escaped the infirmary tower by sawing away at the window bars with a piece of shrapnel on the floor of the dungeon and diving into the moat as I’d done back in the jungle. Relieved that there was no squid at the bottom, I traveled straight until I reached the gates of Renatus. Here I would begin a new life. My tough, war-worn features blended me in with any troop I could imagine, so I enlisted in the Renatus Army as a swordsman in the Westfall Legion.

I take great care never to show the large scar on my right forearm and therefore uncover the hidden past. My hair is at average length, golden, and I have very dark, intense brown eyes – almost black. I am twenty-one years old and just started my career in the Renatus Westfall Swordsman Legion. I am strong as an experienced fighting man while maintaining agility. I can remain unseen when needed, I can flee like a sparrow if seen, and I can fight like a rhinoceros if caught. I am five feet, eleven inches tall with an athletic build, keen sense direction, and a once handsome face marred from battling monsters. After a couple days I’ve met the local blacksmith, ‘ ‘, and a strong, courageous soldier in the Westfall Swordsman Legion named ‘ ‘. At this point, my only goal is to live honorably as my father would have.

    What is your Character's ambitions?:

My main goal is to leave a legacy. I wish to fight valorously in the Westfall Swordsman Legion to bring peace to the province of Renatus, and maybe some day serve under the command of the greatest generals in the Kingdom. My goal is to get stronger and more skilled in sword-fighting and foresting everyday. My motto: Yesterday’s fast is today’s slow. Once I have been paid enough for the task, I someday intend to face the flying beast that killed my father, come what may.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

The only real weapon: the sword. Any type of sword will do, however iron and diamond being most effective. I am content so long as it pierces… and if it doesn’t, I’ll make it pierce.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

I am extremely skilled at swordsmanship, foresting, agility, and stealth (usually in the forest).

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

    Other Information about your Character:

My character is resourceful. I can climb jungle trees like a professional, as well as any other tree like Tarzan and get down from it faster than my adversary can fit an arrow to string. As a human I have excellent handling over my character, making him agile and able to act as a real human though he is fit to make only certain motions. My character is also willing to take great damage to get out of a situation. His fighting style is to use a sword, but use it nimbly as an assassin.
