  1. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:

    kevin9915

    How old are you?:

    20

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    Sweden, gmt+1

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

You fool! There is no way that i can speak the English language! Ohh... I just did ;)

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am a man with many ambitions in his life, a man with many dreams which I want to fulfill.

The name is Kevin, just like my MC-account, I'm currently studying at a university in Sweden.

I live quite an active life, love sports, bungy jumping, sky diving etc. I hope this small amount of information will suffice.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Minimum 7 hours. I would guess i will be online around 2-3h/day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Living out your dream in a fictional world with a character that represents your inner soul and ideals. This character will roam the world in which he/she now lives in, going out on adventures, building cities togheter with friends etc. Living with the principle "Freedom with responsibilites" and "Live everyday as it would be your last", I follow these both in-game and real life and with these I can live out a whole other life inside the world of Minecraft.

This might not be the best explanation of what roleplaying is, but this is what it means to me and is the best explanation I could bring out at this time.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

Living with Zigge as my childhood friend, maybe I class that as roleplaying experience? :D

During highschool I used to play roleplaying board games with some friends, been playing RPG games but you can't really count that as roleplaying experience, right?

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

The usage of out-of-character information from e.g forums to your own advantage in-game, an example on this would be finding out clues about a secret base of an enemy faction on the forum and using them to find it inside the game. I class this as Meta-Gaming, though i could have gotten it wrong.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Putting your own character at an advantage over others or forcing them to follow the story that you yourself create leaving them outside the decision-making or removing their own capabilites to do what they want. I would class this as Power-gaming, though, like Meta-Gaming, I could have gotten it wrong.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to up-hold it's own law system. I also hope this server will be fun and have a good player base/community where people get along well and that there are few douchebags...

Roleplaying is something I like and that's also why I'm hoping to join this community as it seems this server has what I want from an RP server.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Outbreak-gaming: The admin and some mods quit, I was quite close to them, and the new admins restarted the whole server, meaning I lost everything I had built with my friends, and the new mods started kicking and banning people who thought differently from themselves. This was quite a long time ago though.

I have been playing on my own server with some friends since then (not open to public).

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

    That I have.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes. Else I wouldn't even bother to write this application.

How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?:

The great dwarven adventurer Zigge called out my name and thus i replied to his calling.

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. Ok, will do that.

    In-Character:

    Duncan Harvan MacGowan

    Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Duncan Harvan MacGowan was born deep below the surface among the darkness of the dwarven underground mines . As his father he also became a miner and the pickaxe soon became his most trusted friend. He was among those dwarves in the underground who could read, because he was taught how to read by his beloved mother. His parents often told stories from the books in the archive, how the MacGowans used to live, the stories of the different adventures brought back with them etc. This sparked young Duncans interest, leading him to read through the archives and finding out about his long distant relatives who moved to a far away land.

When Duncan grew older his dear mother caught a disease and tragically died soon there after. After his mother's death he started working alot with his father and building out the clans' tunnel network. Some time later news started to spread amoung the clan members inside the tunnel network that more and more people caught the same disease that Duncan's mother had died from. Soon his own father also died from this disease which led Duncan into depression. Still inspired from the stories in the archives and the fear of the disease plaguing the network, Duncan decided to leave the misearable destiny which had befallen on the clan and set out on a journey to find the people mentioned inside the archives' books. Which leads us to present day...

    Open-Response-Questions

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Hello there dear stranger, i'm a traveler on a journey to find som kinsmen. Do you by any chance know of the MacGowan clan or do you know where i might find someone who know even the slightest amount of information?

After the conversation about that matter ended I ask for supplies to continue my journey and as a token of gratitude for the small amount of information he gave me I gave him some gold coins.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Knowing that for surface living races it might be hard to get ahold of the ores required for the items found I left them alone. Because if I had taken them i would crush the hard work someone else had put into gathering those materials.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Having once read about a similar scenario from a book in the old archives he signed up to help. He too wanted to have stories to tell to his kinsmen once he found them.

While having the conversation about the bandit camp with the leader of party he asked if his reward would be money or if he could change it to information about his clan. The party leader kindly accepted this but still wanted to reward him with money. Some of the money were later donated to those whom had been hurt by the bandits because Duncan didn't want other people to suffer and lose their beloved ones like he lost his.
