             Fire Evocation

     

    Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

             

    Evocation such as Fire is the art of creating or pulling forth fire from the Void.  It allows the caster to conjure , form, and use fire in creative ways laid out in the lore for combat and non combat. 

     

     

    Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

    Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

             

     

    Vallel stood before her student and lifted her arm.  A red mist began to swirl around her palm.  The mist would began to condense and thicken and transform into a ball of fire.  The liquid hot fire sizzled and sparked before Vallel aimed for the target dummy releasing the ball of fire sending it hurtling forward at a rapid pace.

     

     

    Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

             

     

    Vallel sat with her student.  Between them was a unlit candle. 

    "So..." said Scarlet. "You want me to light that?" she'd ask.

    Vallel's eyebrow lifted. "I don't think I gave you permission to speak yet but yes you will be lighting that. Now focus on the void and clear you mind.  Focus on the wick and its location to you."

    Vallel sat as she waited for her student to attempt to light the candle.  After several attempts the student finally was able to light the candle.

    Vallel nodded "Its not as simple as it looks is it?  One must not only be able to control and summon the fire but focus it to light at the candle.  As you progress it will only get harder.  Now light all the candles in this room before going to bed."  she'd pick up her book and read as her student went along with her training. 

     

     

    Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

             

    Come to them privately and correct the mistake and do some double checking for any other potential misunderstandings. I would then report it to the ST, just so that they know I as the teacher went and corrected the error.

             Fire evocation , Water Evocation, Life Evocation

     

    Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

             

    Evocation such as Fire is the art of creating or pulling forth fire from the Void.  It allows the caster to conjure , form, and use fire in creative ways laid out in the lore for combat and non combat.  Water is similar but pulls water , or more advance forms of it, like Ice from the void.  Wielding it in many different ways.  Life evocation or formally conjuration is a bit more complicated.  Knowing the properties of fire and water may be easy but when you're evocating life into existence you must understand it down to its most basic form, systems, and functions.  However as you master this you're able to conjure up plants and animals as long as you have the knowledge of said creature.  

     

     

    Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

             

    Fire and water are pretty straight forward.  Water you could say the ice is subsection of it.  Life however has a few subsections.  
    Terrestrial Conjuration (animal conjuration)
    Perennial Conjuration (Plant conjuration )
    Disjointed Conjuration (dis-embodied creature projectile conjuration) 
    Chimeric Conjuration (modified creatures or plants.  Basically using a bit of creativity with your conjurations) 

    Jing Artificery (Small charms or jewelry that focuses life evocation) 

    Beastmelding (uses said charm to focus a beast features to area charge is located. IE on Wrist.  During ones hands into paws like a lion or wolf. )
    Reconstruction (Conjure flesh to patch up wounds)
    Binding ( Binds a conjured beast to the charm and the conjurationist to be semi-permanent)

    Vallel sat down looking over her papers when her student asked "So now that I have researched in depth how this creature lives, behaves, and its make up May I conjure it now?"

    Vallel continues reading and satisficed with he students notes looks to her.  "Very well written, now show me how you would conjure this creature."  

    Scarlet would close her eyes and a shimmer of red could be seen around her neck as it spread across and down her arms to the ground.  The mist would begin to condense and form on her hand into a small creature.  Shortly after where the mist once was stood a small blue jay.  It would start to sing and fly around.

    Vallel nodded "Well done." however just as she spoke the bird flew right into the wall. "No no, you must keep focus on the creature.  You are in control of it."  she'd turn seeing the blue Jay reform back into mist and evaporate to the void.  "Don't worry you'll get it next time. Keep practicing"

             Transfiguration

             

    Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

    Transfiguration is the art of manipulating mana in the world for the purpose of altering a material's shape and properties, imbuing an object with a spell or nullying a spell cast by an opponent

             

    Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

      

    Voidal Feeling:

    This is the first step for any transfiguration mage.  It allows one to use a stream of mana to connect to a non-living object.  Upon connection one can slowly discover the properties of the object.  One must be free of distractions when doing this or all information is lost. 

     

    Transmutation:

    This is the most science-esque of the branches. It allows for manipulation of an object you have an understanding of, ruled by the laws of equivalent exchange. You can edit the size of something and the bigger the change the more mana it will cost.

     

    Enchanting:

    This is very close to Alteration, although it allows you to give objects certain magic properties. The spell is placed on the object and the spell must be constantly draining mana to use the spell, mana gems solve the problem of the magic needing to be present at all times.. It means that the enchantment is connected to a gem in which the enchanter can pour their mana.

     

    Warding and Abjuration:

    This is quite simply the art of wards. Wards protect against magic and only magic. In order to stop the magic, a mage puts the same amount of mana, if not more, into the ward as the amount of mana needed to disrupt the mana anchor equals the amount of mana spent on the spell. The bigger the mana pool, the easier it is to break through a ward of a weaker mage. Wards are not protective against all magic, and must be made specifically for each type of magic and the magic must be well understood to make a ward out of it.

     

     

    Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

     

    Crystal would take a deep breath as she cleared her thoughts, reaching out with her mind into the calmness of the void. 

     

    She lifted the jewel bracelet and began to bond mana with it.  Pulling forth from her knowledge an icy blue mist would form around it causing a shimmering effect.  The spell would start to weave in and around the bracelet.

     

    As the spell finishes the mist would fade and the bracelet remained now enchanted with a glowing effect.  

     

    Crystal would speak the trigger word “Light” and the bracelet glowed a bright magelight upon the room. 

     

             

    Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

     

    “So tell me how vodial feeling works my dear.” Crystal would smile to the little student girl before her, sitting criss-cross before her.

     

    “Well voidal feeling is when you discover the properties of an item.  That way you can enchant it or alter it later” The girl would smile as she’d finish.

     

    "Correct, now tell me what you do after you use a voidal feeling.  Give an example?" Crystal would inquire. 

     

    "Well first you’d be able to tell the traits of the material.  Such as the durability of the item, at what point it will freeze or melt. You can tell if it's flammable, toxic levels and even volatility ."  She'd ponder out loud in response.

     

    Crystal nods slowly, smiling down at the girl. "Correct, now tell me about alteration, and then we will be doing some field examples!" she'd chuckle.

     

    "Well, it is the manipulation of matter, if I'm to put it in my own words, and by yours, the laws of equal exchange." She'd tilt her head.

     

    Crystal led the girl across the room to the door to the basement, moving her hand over the knob to show it was locked. "Get us inside."

     

    "Uhh, okay!" the girl would chuckle, placing a gloved hand on the knob of the door and closing her eyes slowly. With a slow exhale she'd twist and turn at the knob a bit and run her  hand along the brass knob, feeling all its curves and edges as her mind reaches out connecting to the void energy around her.

     

    A light blue hue would wave over her hand as she'd reach for the knob once more, twist upon the knob. As she'd twist the knob, slowly the brass object would rise in temperature melting and become soft as dough. 

     

     Pulling her hand back the knob would follow stretching outward and toward the girl's body. With a harsh kick, she'd push against the door, flying it open, the doughy knob stretching the distance. 

     

    "That was excellent,”  Crystal nodded in approval.

  6. Having been on the server nearly 9-10 years on and off with you I'd like to say its been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both in character and out of character. With that being said I'm sure you have a whole list of things you wish you knew when you started.  So can you list some of those things now and What advise would you give someone new who's getting into roleplay for the first time on LOTC?

    The best memories I have of LOTC were the group skype chats during Asulon with Zigge, Meta, dsdevil, Resia, rocketteam, Rethlor, Truth, Pixie, ttwesten, Saviordude, Skyler, Khel, and a few others. Silva Insula chat was so amaingly stupid, we goofed off so much in those chats.

     

    Those were the days!  I miss that too! Really fond memories.

    Well Ziggie may have built it but you were its backbone and managed the town well :)

    Hello friends and new players,

     

    It is I truthseeker aka Crystal.  I am returning back and hopefully will bring back my main characters and maybe even start a new one depending on how things go.

    For those who are not familiar with me I have been roleplaying on this server off and on since Aegis.  My characters have had their ups and downs.  Owned private islands, started families that spawned generations of characters.  I learned several magics over the years on my characters and have the pleasure of teaching many students as well.

     

    In real life I have 3 wonderful teenage children and the whole family are avid gamers of one type or another. Work at home job full time and can't wait to jump in but as before my time is precocious and is divided up so the best way to reach out to me is discord.  :) 

    Now to my characters!  

    Vallel Evocress

     

    How do you explain Vallel... well she's stern and stubborn in her beliefs. Can have a temper if triggered and usually ends badly.  She stands up for 'the fallen' people of her race and even others if they have earned the right in her mind.  Unlike most Mali'aheral Vallel doesn't hold to the beliefs that just because your different doesn't make you any less special.  Of course she's been kicked out several times for these beliefs over time.  Vallel uses her magical talents to bring about interesting roleplay scenarios.  Meet up with her sometime and lets see where it all goes.

     

    Crystal (last name lost to time) 


    My other main is Crystal (hopefully)  She's a Fjariauga (no meta please)  who loves her sisters and sometimes misses the touch of a male companion, although those memories are fading.  Her life has gone through a series of changes (Maps and lore changes galore)  So where she is now I'm uncertain but if rp is still allowed for this race we shall see how things develop.  

     

    Lastly Evar Evocress,  Vallel's Grandson.

     

    TBD I may keep him or put him on the backburner for another character.  Time will tell.  

     

    Honorable mentions: 

    As for Killeki (RIP) he's passed on to the other side.  Amarath Ossana, I am unsure if this family is still around or even remembers the character.  Ivy, my halfling is Probally off picking and selling flowers to those who need them.  There were others but do not recall them anymore.
