  1. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:

    gobirds

    How old are you?:

    16

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    Mountain Time United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes, though I don't always use proper capilization and punctuation.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am 16 and live in a very small town in Montana--250 people. I enjoy Parkour, Slacklining and playing more than my share of video games--favorites being Minecraft, Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, and Skyrim. I also have a large flock of chickens, ducks, and turkeys that I take care of and a few cats too.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

2-3 hours a day in the summer up to 8-10 hours in the winter. Just depends on other chores and such, but definitely 15-20 hours a week minimum.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying to me is experimenting taking on the attritbutes of your character--their likes, dislikes, attitudes become yours for the time you are playing.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I haven't done extensive roleplaying, but the small amount I have done I have enjoyed and would like to do more.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is using out of character information to benefit your in game character. An example would be chatting on Skype with another player, and using that information in game where your character wouldn't know that information. It isn't acceptable, because it breaks character and ruins the roleplaying possibilities.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power-emoting is forcing your emotes on other people and not giving them a chance to react. An example would be "Slashes and kills guard." vs. "Slashes at guard." The first gives no chance for response, whereas the second one gives the other player a chance to make a response and continue the roleplaying.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Fun! The limited interaction that I have had as a wandering soul on the actual world has me very excited to be accepted and play.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have not had a lot of roleplaying experience. I played for a period of time on WarCraft 3 on a series of maps called SOTDRP, but participation wasn't high. It required a big learning curve for the map and so people didn't play and the map host closed it.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

    Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

    Yes.

How did you hear about us?:

    Found it on Planet Minecraft.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

No, this is my first application.

    In-Character:

    Character Name:

    Garrett Chandler

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

    Human.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

    None.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Twenty-three years ago I was born into a family of wandering merchants who traveled between many of the southern city's and towns of the Holy Oren Empire selling their wares. I grew into a sturdy brown eyed, black haired fellow of roughly 5'11". Being a bit of a trickster with a desire for adventure, I struck out on my own. For the past five years, I have been traveling far and wide aiming to learn all I can. I still haven't found a trade I want to call my own permanently, but have tried on many hats.

Most recently, I have been earning minas showing off my Parkour and acrobatics in a side show act. Traveling with this group has been a bit to reminiscent of traveling with my family, so when we arrive at the Cloud Temple , I decide to part ways and explore the local area.

    What are your Character's ambitions?:

Still have a craving for adventure, but also wish to find and learn a trade that will allow me to settle down and find a more permanent home.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

    Hatchet/axe.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

    Agility.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ):

    Other Information about your Character:

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Garrett wouldn't be able to fight off two armed warriors, but he definitely run faster, so he would attempt to anger them into chasing him, so the halfling could escape on his own. Leading them into a blind alley, Garrett then climbs up the wall and escapes himself leaving the guards wondering where he went and how.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Garrett would reply in a friendly manner. Look over the items and inquire about prices, but with his funds low he would politely decline to purchase anything. Depending how chatty the merchant was, he might discuss his experience in the trade and ask about any opportunities to earn a few minas.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Since the hut appears abandoned, Garrett would take the iron bars, but not the sword. He doesn't have use for the sword, and selling it could cause more trouble than any minas it would bring.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Garrett would espond in a similarly friendly tone and ask for food and shelter to sleep. Then, after resting, ask what assistance he can provide to repay their kindness.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Garrett would offer his services as a scout rather than a fighter. Garrett isn't a strong fighter. He would suggest a smaller reward for his services since he didn't fight to eliminate them.

Anything else you would like to say?:

Really excited to join the server and have fun.
