I don't see the point of having a Veterans day because we would all basically be honoring ourselves. I don't know any dwarves who haven't fought in at least 1 war or battle...

All the more reason to celebrate it! =D

On the Veterans Day issue, it is an "international holiday" per say, but the name's are different with each country. Also, they're different in the slightest way. For instance, Great Britain's is Remembrance Day, Germany's is Volkstrauertag, and many, many other countries celebrate. MOST of those countries are where I've seen people from on here. Yes, yes, this issue has been discussed, but this is my two cents.

*shudders* The Teutonic War was horrid... I really like this system! We actually get full on "wars", unlike what the War-Claims do, which are for individual battles it seems. Kudos to you, good sir, for this change.

Removing mina drop from mob drops basically kills off the hunter profession.

I personally don't see it that way. I'm doing something that no one should do concerning a game by looking at the real life side, but still. If you're a hunter in real life, you're not going to find money on your kill. You have to SELL it to get the money, or in LOTC's case, the drops. Do I not have a point? I know, I know, I'm probably gonna get all sorts of "Minecraft isn't a real life simulator, blah blah blah". But this is one of the aspects that is more... true to life, per say.

Just be a more or less feminine version of a male dwarf, which mainly means no beard, higher pitched voice (but that doesn't matter since it's typed), and somewhat longer hair. All dwarves drink a lot, fight a lot, and eat a lot. As a dwarf of two months today, I can say these are the basics. Tae o'er par' is tae "accen'" which is pre'y much done loike t'is. If you've already done a dwarf, this is simple. Then the rest is up to you. That's about it, have fun!

On the cities situation, I say we have the main city built as a combination. Half on a mountain, half below ground, allowing for mountain dwarves (such as myself) to have a nice breeze of fresh air, and the cave dwarves can have their darkness and dankness.
