  1. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:

    Choice127

    How old are you?:

    13

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    Pacific timezone/USA

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

English is my primary language. I don't have any issues with grammar.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Roleplaying is my favorite thing to do in games. I'm very experienced with roleplaying, and can help others out if they need it. My favorite sport is basketball, though I don't join sports teams; I play it for fun.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I can play on this server when I am not writing lore for a possible server I may create. I don't work on the server very often.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying is when you create a character and act as them. This character may be different than you, or completely the same, or even have similar qualities. To me, it is a way to just forget about what is going on in the real world and become involved in a fantasy universe.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I am a very experienced roleplayer. I've been hosting roleplays on various games, as well as joining them for the past couple years. I can help people out with roleplay if they need it.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-gaming is when you use information that you have no way to obtain in-characterly. For example, if your friend tells you where a city is, or what it looks like, your character does not know any of that information unless he learns it in-characterly.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power-Emoting is when you force actions upon another player. An example of power-emoting would be if one player types: “Elendras crouches behind Alagos, reaching his hand into his pocket and taking all of the Minas”. A correct way to steal money from others would be: “Elendras crouches behind Alagos, attempting to reach his hand into his pocket and take his Minas without being detected”.

It can also be when your character does something they cannot do. For example, Cevenaer uses a bow as a weapon, and isn't very skilled with a blade. If Cevenaer does a twirl that hits multiple enemies at once, knocking them all down and causing injury, that would be power-emoting

In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is:

Out of Character is information that is not used in roleplay. Anything said in Out of Character chat is not available to you in roleplay unless you learn it in-characterly. In Out of Character, you do not use your character, it’s a regular chat.

In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is:

In Character is the main roleplay. Everything done in character is known by your character if you were at the event. If somebody says something in character, your character knows it if they were spoken to or near enough to hear it.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

From what my friends have been saying about it, I expect this server to be the very best roleplay. They say that you can do anything you want to do. Also, from watching roleplay as a lost soul, it has been proven that the roleplay on this server is very good.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on a server called Ironstorm. It was a very amazing server, in which the roleplay was always entertaining and fun. I never quit it; I played until the time they shut it down. Another server I played on was Crafthammer. I quit because they were always having troubles with the admins, and I didn’t like the way they ran the server.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I have thoroughly read the laws of the server, and agree to follow them.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I promise to abide by the laws of the server, forum, and teamspeak channel.

How did you hear about us?:

I heard about the server by browsing the Minecraft Forums, but my friends (Arky and Gemmy) convinced me to join.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

I have not made an application before.

    In-Character:

    Character Name:

    Cevenaer

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

    Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

    Wood Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

    The story of Cevenaer

As a child, Cevenaer grew on a small farm, not too far from the nearest Elven town, but not very close either. He was raised by his mother alone, who was very protective over him, never letting him stray far from the farm and into the woods until his later teen years. Cevenaer never knew his father, and all of his attempts to ask his mother who he was were driven off with a sigh and, “he was a very kind and brave man, my child.” As he grew, he helped his mother with the farming, and eventually became very good at the skill. He was able to create rows of seeds in very little time. His mother was also a skilled healer, using natural remedies to heal almost any injury or sickness. She taught him her skills in healing, and he caught on quickly, though he is not a professional at it.

Cevenaer is a tall, slim Elf. He has auburn colored hair with lighter brown streaks. His eyes look like sparkling emeralds. His preferred clothing is his hunting suit, composed of a green vest, and bronze trousers. He never hates anybody, and thinks of everybody as equal. Even when in battle, he doesn’t hate his enemy. However, he protects his friends with all he has. He hates to see harm done to them.

On a very bright and calm day, when the birds could be heard humming in the nearby trees, a travelling merchant arrived at Cevenaer’s farm. At the time, Cevenaer was only the equivalent of a twelve year old human child. His mother was sickly, forcing Cevenaer to work the crops that day. When the merchant came into Cevenaer’s view, he called “akalin!” (shop) loudly, so his mother could hear. He watched the merchant stop near the forest, sitting against a tree to regain his strength from the travel, from the crop fields. Once the merchant was settled, Cevenaer bounded over to him to speak. When he neared, he saw that the merchant was a Man. He looked at all of the wares the merchant had multiple times. On his third look, he spotted something he had not seen the first two inspections. He took a large bow, curved in an elegant pattern into his hands, and swung a quiver of steel-tipped arrows over his shoulder.

From below, the merchant watched Cevenaer pull the bowstring, notching an arrow into place, and aim at a leaf of the tree above. Upon the release of the bowstring, the arrow flawlessly soared through the air. Upon hitting the leaf, it cleanly broke through the center and continued its journey upward. Cevenaer examined the bow after the demonstration of his accuracy. He had never held or shot a bow before in his life. He had stunned himself with his skillfulness of the shot he had taken. He placed the bow and quiver back into the cart and strolled over to sit beside the merchant. After a few minutes of sitting in silence, watching the grass blowing in the gentle breeze, the merchant began speaking.

“I can tell you’ve never held a bow before by the way you acted after you’d taken the shot. That was pretty impressive, lad.” He complimented.

Cevenaer was surprised by this sudden speech. He replied with, “Thank you. The only skill I’ve known myself to have is farming. I didn’t imagine I would even come close to hitting the leaf, let alone the arrow travelling straight through!”

The merchant gave a quick laugh, then followed up with an offer, “I think you may be a fine huntsman one day, lad. ‘Ere, get up, I’ll teach you how to carve and string a bow.”

Cevenaer, quite pleased with the offer, watched the merchant nimbly carve away at a large branch, bending it into a beautiful pattern, weaving a thick string through the ends, and finally wrapping the center in a thin, decorated piece of leather to improve the grip. The merchant gave this bow to Cevenaer as a gift, as well as a quiver with thirty-five steel arrows. After doing so, he shook Cevenaer’s hand, wishing him luck with future hunts, and packed his things to leave.

Not much happened in the next few years besides work on the farm. At the equivalence to a fifteen year old human, Cevenaer began to venture into the woods near the farm to hunt. He occasionally brought home fresh deer meat as a treat to go with the bread, sometimes catching a duck or squirrel. The day he turned 23, in equivalence to human years, while hunting in the wood, he found another Wood Elf. Immediately, they both aimed their bows at each other. When they noticed that they were both Elves, Cevenaer lowered his bow, being mimicked by the other Elf. Cevenaer decided to try and strike a conversation with the other Elf.

Cevenaer greeted him cautiously with, “Are there any good animals to hunt around these parts of the woods?”

After a few moments of hesitation, the other Elf responded slowly with, “Yes. There are a lot of deer, though be careful around here, the Wargs don’t hesitate to attack. Oh, I’m Akalaei by the way.”

Cevenaer responded, cheerily, with “I’m Cevenaer. I’ve never heard of Wargs before, what are they?”

Akalaei glanced over his shoulder before whispering, “Hounds. They’re very large and powerful, and fast! Most of them belong to the Orcs. If you see one, run. If you see a whole pack, hide, and don’t make any sounds. If there’s a pack, there’ll be Orcs nearby, and you don’t want to fight them.”

Cevenaer nervously replied, “I’ve never seen an Orc. I don’t know if I want to now after you say that.”

Cevenaer continued to hunt with Akalaei daily. One of his hunting trips engraved a terrible memory into his mind, causing him to have a hatred towards Orcs. Cevenaer and Akalaei spotted a deer, and prepared to take the shot, when they heard three howls nearby. They quickly dove into a bush nearby, concealing themselves. Akalaei whispered “Wargs” to warn Cevenaer to stay quiet and hidden. From behind a row of trees, the three Wargs and an Orc clad in a chainmail chest and loincloth, wielding a crude and bended blade stepped out. The Orc kicked one of the Wargs, causing it to snarl and snap at his leg as he laughed. One of the Wargs flared his nostrils and stepped forward towards the bush Cevenaer and Akalaei were sheltered in. Akalaei motioned for Cevenaer to stay hidden, then jumped out to confront the Warg. With a quick draw of his bow, he drove an arrow from close-range into the Warg’s right shoulder, causing it to collapse and release small yelps of pain, alerting the other Wargs and the Orc.

Akalaei quickly drew his dagger before the two remaining Wargs charged at him. One of the Wargs lunged at Akalaei’s arm, only to be slain by his dagger going through its skull. The last Warg managed to tear into his leg, making him release a cry of pain before bashing the top of its head with the hilt of his dagger and sinking the blade into its rib cage, leaving it there. Akalaei lay there, gasping and trying to stem the flow of blood with his palm. The Orc snarled, tossing his blade from one hand to the other as he approached Akalaei. Cevenaer shuddered in the bush, knowing that if he didn’t do anything, his friend would surely be slain. As the Orc reached only a few feet from Akalaei, Cevenaer leapt from the bush, drew his arrow, and released it straight through the Orc’s eye. Watching to verify that the Orc was dead, he watched his opponent's body fall limp onto the ground.

Cevenaer kneeled by Akalaei, tears rolling down his cheeks from watching his friend in pain and the thought that he had slain another creature that was not an animal. He quickly glanced around to look for familiar herbs to use to heal him. Cevenaer spotted a large leaf in the top of the tree above. Kicking off his boots, he gripped the lowest branches and climbed up, plucking the leaf from the branch, and lowering himself down. At about a thirteen foot drop, he jumped, landing with a graceful roll. He immediately began wrapping Akalaei’s wound, stopping the flow of blood.

Cevenaer is now the equivalent of a twenty seven year old human, and willing to begin his journey in new parts of Asulon.

    What are your Character's ambitions?:

Cevenaer wishes to help others with his little knowledge of using herbs to heal. He also wishes to perfect the art of using a bow for battle. He has no desire to join the Elven battlements, though he does wish to hunt with allies.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Cevenaer prefers to battle with a bow and use a short-sword when confronted with close-quarters combat. He is accurate with his bow, but can resort to amateur stabbing attacks if needing to fight in close range.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Cevenaer is very skilled with a bow. He is accurate enough to hit a squirrel out of a tree branch. He prefers to only use his bow for hunting, though if a battle is brought to him and he is forced to fight, he will not hesitate to send volleys of arrows at his opponants.

    Other Information about your Character:

When Cevenaer makes friends, he protects them with his life. He hates to see his friends wounded, and does all he can to stop that. He has a strong dislike towards Orcs from his experience in the woods. He will eat any type of animal for survival, as long as it is not a crude thing to do, like cannibalism. Cevenaer can both read and write, and enjoys reading stories and history of Elves.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Cevenaer watches from a distance, seeing what the warriors are threatening the Halfling with, and listening to what they say and how they move to judge how skilled they are in battle, if necessary. He examines their full suit of armor, looking for places to possibly notch an arrow in. When he decides he knows as much as he can about them, he walks up to the Halfling.

Cevenaer, trying to break the warrior’s focus on the Halfling, greets him with, “Hello, Halfling! How are you today?”

As the warriors pull their blades to threaten Cevenaer, he unslings his bow from over his shoulder, aims an arrow between the plates that guard one of the warrior’s knees, and fires an arrow. Seeing the warrior collapse, and the other begin to charge, he pushes the Halfling to make him try and escape while the warriors chase Cevenaer. He dashes into a nearby forest, where he has the advantage to escape, and silently climbs into a tree, waiting for the warriors to leave.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Cevenaer smiles, bowing his head in greeting, and responding with “Just browsing the items you have.”

After looking over everything the merchant has in stock, Cevenaer finds some thick string that would be good to make a bow, and asks how much it would cost.

“Five Minas for a piece of string? You’ll never get buyers for that! Thinking of how often you can find string, you should sell it for two Minas.” Cevenaer haggles, pulling a loose thread from his vest and waving it in front of the merchant.

After haggling for a while longer, they both settle on three Minas for the string.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Cevenaer acts as if he did not notice the chest for a while, deciding to cook a meal outside and wait to see if anything is nearby. When he hears nothing for a few minutes, he wanders inside the hut to have a look around. He examines the walls and everything to try and have any clue of what might live here. After his study, he looms over the chest, examining the blade and bars. He cannot wield a sword because of his lack of strength, plus he has enough arrows to do the job a sword could do anyway. Cevenaer counts the ingots: seven in total. He gathers three of them in his arms, feeling their heavy weight. Realizing he has no use for them because he himself is not a blacksmith, he places them back into the chest in the places he found them and leaves the hut.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Cevenaer hesitates for a moment, fighting his hunger to see if the merchants have any devious intentions. He counts three in total, all Men near the age of thirty. Cevenaer finally responds, “I have run out of arrows, so I can no longer hunt. Do you happen to have any arrowheads or feathers? I will be willing to buy.”

When the merchants show him what they have, Cevenaer immediately agrees to purchase. He has bought twelve arrowheads and feathers to create twelve arrows for thirty-two Minas. Because of his need for food, he did not haggle to reduce the price. After the purchase, he creates the arrows, and sprints into the woods to hunt.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Cevenaer examines the guard captain to ensure that his intentions are true. He then volunteers to help drive off the bandits, but refuses the reward. He claims he is happy to lend a hand to his town, and if any harm came to it, he would be very unsettled. As the party leaves the city gates, Cevenaer rushes forward, spotting the bandits in the distance. He immediately draws his bowstring, notching an arrow into place, and releases. The arrow whizzes past one of the bandit’s head, who becomes so startled that he drops his glass of ale and falls onto his back. The rest of the bandits are immediately on alert, but Cevenaer continues to release arrows that do not hit the bandits.

Boldly, Cevenaer calls, “Leave these roads now, or the next arrow I fire will meet its target!”

Anything else you would like to say?:

I do hope I will be accepted for this server. I would like to join my friends in roleplay. I also hope that cross-race friendships, such as a wood elf and a human are acceptable.
