  1. Melody, you made the 12 month decision for the length of the pregnancy yourself (well, with your RP partner). If that equates to 18 days and you can't RP being pregnant for 6 more days, it's still in your RP power to change it. Change the gestation period, or have the child early - do what you feel to keep the RP conductive.

I know I'm new here, but there's a pretty universal philosophy to roleplay rules and standards. They are put in place to create a unified roleplay experience, not restrict creativity. Time in an RPG is relative. A conversation that takes an hour in-game might happen IRL over 3 hours (time to type, afks, etc.) during which time the game world has progressed a full day. You choose which 'clock' you follow based on what is best for the scene.

It is a guideline to keep everyone on the same page, not to grind your roleplay plans to a halt. But even you said it, there's plenty of other things to roleplay about WHILE pregnant than just BEING pregnant. Life doesn't stop just because there's a bun in the oven, get a supplemental plot going on the side.

Again, I'm still learning the culture of this game, but clearly the subject of changing the game clock wasn't taken lightly, and I'm sure the purpose wasn't to hinder long-term plots.

I favor the 1 hour clock, because it's easy to guess what time of day it is in-game even if you're not logged in.

    Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is collaborative storytelling; interactive improvisational fiction, that involves players contributing to an interwoven and ever growing narrative.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is using knowledge from outside the scene to leverage the events in-character, or failing to contribute cooperatively with other players for sake of the shared story.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power emoting is taking too much narrative control, either in the form of acting on another players' behalf, or negating or ignoring the actions of other players to suit your own ends.

    In-Character Details

    Character Name: Keliani

    Character Race: Elven

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Keliani would very much like you to believe she was born in the forest, just like her foster father Dillim. Even if she tries to dye her golden blonde hair with ruddy purple berries, her fair, suntouched skin betrays her Mali'Aherial heritage. Perhaps, however, some things do only run skin deep.

Living off nature is what Keliani knows. As a baby she was found, shipwrecked and abandoned on the shallows of a river delta in the Wilds. She would come to know her rescuer as her father, as he raised and guided her in the ways of life his kin only knows. Shoot straight with an arrow. Leave no trace. Love the land. Know it as an extension of yourself.

Still, her lithe figure grew into that of a young elvish woman, and she could not hide her bloodline. The woodland elves she called family were always accepting of her, but the turmoil in her heart, a longing to understand the greater wonders of her people call to her. With this ambition to better understand herself, she has set out to Malinor to meet her elders and gain greater wisdom of her place in Asulon.

What are your characters ambitions?: To know her true place in life, be it with her foster family, or the high elves from which she is estranged.

Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Keliani is very friendly, but can initially seem bashful due to her guarded and self-conscious nature. Her temper can spike when she feels threatened or demeaned.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Keliani's attention is quickly piqued by the bellowing purveyance of the merchant, her glance shifting curiously in his direction. She's only just arrived in town, but the provisions she's brought for barter are heavy to bear; the sooner she makes a few honest trades, the better for her knapsack. But what is a Dwarf doing peddling his goods in a Human city? She glances quickly over his merchandise. Gemstones and glittering metals, how they look so spectacular. Her father would never approve of her ogling such useless fascinations. Still, something about their resplendence draws her in, perhaps a bit too obviously. It might be wiser to stop back, after she's had a chance to collect her prudence. She doesn't want to be seen sympathising with a dwarf in human territory before she's even just arrived.

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

This is a terrifying situation, indeed! How did Keliani find herself in this mess? In the dark hours, with ruffians starting a row? Her nerves begin to give way to panic, as she lets out an involuntary scream. This gets the attention of all three, counting the monk attempting to stay somehow planted in his quickly toppling chair. Unscripted, the shrill noise has given the dwarf a window of opportunity to strike the first blow, and the orc takes a stumble backwards. His misstep kicks the leg of the monk's chair, causing the pair of them to land in a heap, while the dwarf makes a hasty retreat... but not without passing a thankful wink in her direction. Keliani apologizes profusely to the fallen monk, and gestures in the direction of the fleeing brigands as the orc gives to chase.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

This poor soul. Keliani kneels beside him and asks his well-being in her soft, apologetic tone. Whatever trivial matter she was about to interrupt him with is gone, she helps the man gather his things.

Keliani undoes a woven strand from her corded belt, and sutures his purse promptly.

"I wish I could do more..." she offers weakly, helping the man to his feet. With his stick broken, she takes him in arm to help guide him down the path.

"I'm sure we can find you another fine staff in Malinor." is the best consolation she can find.
