1. Name: Wade o'Brine

Age: unknown, too many years at sea

Race: Human
Prior Relevant Experience: I was a deckhand for most all me life. All I know is the ocean. After a fearful sight at sea, and the stacking o bad luck I've retired and taken to land with nothing but the clothes on me back and my need for drink.

2. Hi roleplayers!

I've been traveling for a little over a year now and was only able to log into LotC once to test out my new computer. I've settled down for about a month and want to get back into role playing in LotC. What have I missed? Is there any new updates? I am unfamiliar with any sort of profession system so some info on that would be awesome as well.

Thanks!

3. Sometimes, an old man can be found taking a pilgrimage up to a peak in which holds within itself a dragons den. Often people don't question the old man, but once, a small village boy by the name of Titus decided to follow this old man. As the path grew more difficult to walk, it was easy to tell it was not often trodden. When the old man had reached his destination, the boy watched the happenings from a safe distance.

The pilgrim, weary from his journey stood in front of the remaining bones of a dragon. In front of this colossal, dead creature, the pilgrim un-leashed a sheep he had brought with him on his journey. A dagger of sharp steel was soon after used to sacrifice the sheep. The boy gasped. After the slow death of the sheep, when the blood explored the cracks in the dirty floor of the cavern, the pilgrim began to chant words. Words of luck and good fortune.

After his prayers, the old fart returned home, his pilgrimage over. Titus also returned home to a worried mother and chores to be done, he only spoke of his findings to his friends.

WHAT exactly am I proposing?

Good question, I basically wanted to have dragon worship be a small bit of culture to Farfolks and any other races. Even though no magic would truly come from it, it could be a developed (but simple) religion. Once a year, a dragon worshiper would travel to a location of ANY fallen dragon (not daemon dragon, just a normal creature dragon) and make a pilgrimage to offer a sacrifice of any creature. After sacrificing the creature the pilgrim would say a chant (this can be customized to each character) and then receive an RP blessing (if desired). And example of a blessing could be RPing good crops for the next season. Something that can't be considered OP or magic.

If one returns to the sacrificial site on a later date, the sacrifice would be gone. This could mean simply that wolves came by to eat the remains or maybe... Something darker... But it won't be answered. Leave some unanswered mystery to make the religion weirder.

I'm trying to emphasize the fact that it wouldn't be a magic based religion because nobody can prove that these sacrifices can do anything (like religions IRL today... Debatably).

I hope dragon-worship Lore can be implemented or simply just thought about. Animal and creature worship is an interesting basis for RP events and RP events in general.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, cheers.

4. So, is it possible to roleplay a dragon worshiper? I have been wanting to do this for a while now and I'm wondering if there is any lore I could follow or if I have to make a proposal for some lore..

Are there even dragons IN Athera? And I don't mean the Daemon Dragons but just normal dragons..

5. Lately I haven't had much time to roleplay as a character of importance, a character where others may depend on me... I find myself popping on and off for about twenty minutes at a time and this got me to my idea.

I want to create a character similar to dark souls lore but trying to make it original. I personally like the idea of roleplaying a depressed, wandering knight that wanders around (didn't see that coming) and slays monsters and explores dungeons. Other players might find me on the side of the road or in a castle, sitting and talking to myself. This would then lead them into roleplaying with me and I get to explain: "Oh, you ask why I mutter to myself? Why it is because I am cursed, slowly dying, like an outlaw walking to his hanging.. I do not sleep and I do not have happiness... I am slowly dying of a plague, that eats me from the inside... "

I would then ask them to go retrieve something for me to extend my life span, this would make the other player to feel of importance and as if he or she going on a quest. Basically I feel like somedays when I log on I just say "I want to do something Heroic!" and I never run into anybody that wants to go on adventures...

So I wanted to give that opportunity to other players so that if they want something adventurous to do, they can come to me and I'll give them a simple or large task.

Essentially I will be an NPC quest giver!

So what do you guys think? Would this work and be fun? I think I personally would have fun writing up some interesting tasks...

So tell me what you think!

Have a great Elven day!

6. I feel like these new professions and racial bonuses might take away the roleplay aspect and replace it with an mmorpg feel. I guess this will attract a curtain kind of player but it will be unattractive to some of the older, dedicated players. Don't get me wrong, it seems really cool, just don't take away the roleplay focus in LotC.

An idea would be that when your doing something that has to do with your profession a message would pop up in chat saying *You dip the weapon into the water, steam rises like wildfire*.

This would make you feel like stuff is going on even though you might be alone.

So again, the new system seems great, just keep it mostly roleplay please.

Role-playing:Talking as if inside a fictional character. Taking on another role not your own.

Meta-gaming: An

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:Olo
and his father lived near the Vale for quite some time until Olo's
father, Milian was summoned by his grandfather. From what Olo heard
Milians grandfather was near death and had to say off his grandson. This
being a small event in Olo's life there si not much on the matter.
Milian inherited from his grandfathers will: the Dudley family Cookbook,
a compass that points south, a mug that Farmrich (Olos grandfather) won
at an ale drinking contest, and a pipe with the words "Sun, Moon,
Grass" engraved on it. Olo spends alot of his time by rivers. He likes
the sound of them and often swims in them. He always looks at a river
and imagines if maybe he has a boat he could go anywhere. He thinks of
this often and over the time of 2 years, he has constructed a boat that
will take hi
m far away. He started his journey at the age
of 21. As he is adventuring on his boat he learns more and more about
the wild. He finds many animals he has not seen before such as bats and
the accessional zombie. He killed one zomie and found himself scared to
approach another. (he learned zombies don't know how to
tell directions.) All his adventures were recorded in his books that he
writes. He knows not many people would read them but he is contant and
it keeps hibusy when he is not dong anything else. Olo had not left the
Vale at any point after his adventure on the river, nor has he ever
considered doing it again. This being one of the only adventures I will
move onto the next. At the age of 17, being a teenager he did not care
much for his farming chores and his house work and often times ignored
his father. Being at this stage, him and his father are not in a good
relationship. His father loves him dearly but Olo seems to have lost his
love for his father (or so he thinks) but they do not talk much and
when they do, it is probably them yelling at each other. Olo often
slacked and did not really listen to his fathers teachings making him
unwise. Olo did not know that his father had so much knowledge that Olo
will need for when he is older. So this being a major event because to
the age of 19 he did not know much about farming and he had to learn it
all on his own. Olo was one of the hobbits that did not have a skill
that employers wanted. Olos future was toppling already. Now the rest of
the story has yet to be done.
Olo left
his father at 19 and decided to go look for a future. Olos life being
quite dull he looks foward to resting down and keeping his life dull. He
hasn't any interest in adventure nor any interest in the outside world.
Yet, his real interest lies within the craft of pie making.

Full Name::Olo DudleyPrance
Current Age:24

Sub-race (if any): Halfling

Past /
History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Olo does not have a written record of when he was born but he does not
care much for it. He grew up in a cabin near Vale (Olo did not live in a
hillside) and there he had many of his childish adventures. As a child
he would pretend he was a human (he wanted to be one a the time). This
human we would roleplay to be was a grand knight who served his king
with honor and valour. Olo pretended to slay dragons and zombiepigmen.
He would pretend to craft the greatest weapons, enchant the most magical
swords and brew the most effective potions.

After time Olo had grew into a new stage of kids play. He started to
make miniature forts in his backyard and plan out defensive systems that
he thought would be effective. Just in case of invasion. Little did he
know that within this stage of childs play he will be forced to bring
his imagination to life.

On a nice evening in the middle of spring the land near the Vale was
overcome with bandits. They had made camp four or five miles away from
Olos cabin. Olos father had learned this because he was out gathering
fire wood when he spotted them. The second day the bandits were in the
presence they came to ransack our home. Olo was not smart enough to see
what was to happen next. He was brought with the task to defend the food
and livestock. he went by the sheep in the fields and waited there for
the bandits to approach. Olo was given a shovel, his hands trembling,
thoughts racing through his head and adrenaline rushing. Olo was about
to fight. When the bandits got close he would wave his shovel around.
This did not frighten them. One got in reach of Olo and raised his axe.
Olo was defensive and hit the bandits legs with the shovel. This caused
him to fall back and retreat. The other two were inside the house. It
was then that I realised that my father had taken care of them and
forced them to retreat. For the next few days Olo and his Father were
expecting them to come back but they never did.

Ambitions for the Future:[/b  To
start a family and settle down, set up his own pie-stand, continue his
families cookbook and write a series of manuscript on the well beings of
Halfling life. He is not sure if his books will make a hit but he
intends to go through with his plan all the same. he does not look to
much to being rich but to enjoy being with friends. So basically he does
not want a full time job (it will waste his time).

Personality:[/b Lively,
easily startled, kind but not too kind, always up to take a stroll,
useless when coming to knowledge of combat, and good farmer of carrots.
He is always looking forward to going to the tavern to get himself some
ale and listen to some good 'ol tales. He is almost always festive andis
not bothered by young children and very much wants some of his own.

Skills:Pie making, Carrot farming, relaxing, investigating drama, hiking, boating, alchemy, archeology and socializing.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):[/bRather curly, red hair, stout but not too fat and rather strong. A fair looking young Halfling with the look of anticipation. He never wears shoes and he finds them to be quite annoying. http://www.minecraft...10635166587.png Alot
of times he seems to look like he has never cleaned himself. This is
true in one way or another but often times he never sees the point
(ignoring all the odors.) He wears a large jacket and some nice overalls
that he wears for
family tradition. His style of hair is seen on many Halflings.

____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperors palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer:
Well first of all being a Halfling I would not be within the walls of
the mighty human capital. However, if I was there I would do the
following: Seeing the man I go to the guards on my right and explain
what i see. They look over where Isaw the figure, and he has vanished. I
no longer see him and same with the guards. I take matters into my own
hands noticing the guards laughing at me. I walk over to the gates of
the palace and scan the vicinity. Nothing to my eyes seems unusual until
I glance over my shoulder and see the dark figure. Startled I jump up
and run to the nearest hiding spot. As I crouch behind a bush the dark
figure comes up to me wielding some sort of magic. Using my instincts I
grab a rock near me and throw it at him. I miss totally and the hooded
figure burns the bush in front of me leaving me wide open. I close my
eyes and hope I dont suffer a horrible fate. instantly the gurads take
not of the comotion and come over to see what was the matter. They grab
the "druid" by the hands and cuff him. Relieved I stand up and thank the
guards.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer:
I walk up to the bandits and pretend to act as one and for the time
being it seems to work! I discuss what to do with the old man and they
ask me to take him back to the camp as they search the cottage for
valuables. I grab the old man by the arm and act as to threaten him. I
bring him far away from the cottage and let him know I am here to save
him. He says "Aren't you a little to small for a Bandit?" My face
reddens and I don't say anything. I tell him to wait where here untill I
figure out if they left or not. I soon go back to the cottage and
notice that the cottage has not been touched. Nothing is gone. I almost
cannot believe it. But I was wrong. From behind me stand the Bandits.
"have you taken the old man to camp?" "yes" I reply. They give me a nod
and say, "keep the valuables" one of them says as the other leaves
"enjoy" I then go back to the old man and assure him he is all right.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer:
I look for some pumpkin seeds and I see none. Troubled and mad I cannot
seem to find anything i am looking for. What are the chances of that? I
skim over what there is visible and I notice my grandfathers compass
that points south! I ask the man where he got the compass and he said he
got it off of some bandits in a hurry. This troubles me and I start t
think of the possibilities of bandits coming to my fathers house and
stealing everything. I search around for more of my fathers items. I
find the same pipe, a stool from the kitchen, my old blanket,my
storybook from when I was young and a mug that was my grandfathers. This
troubles me and I buy the stuff for a decent price. I take one last
look around and find a divine vase (pot) that would look good back at my
house. I take and and he sasy, "Name the price" I say, "26 Minas" he
nods his head and goes on talking about gossip in the surrounding area. I
write this in my book and run off out of the city and head for my
fathers house to assure he is ok.

8. How do I get here? I have filled out an application for a halfling and just waiting for it to be accepted ( I hope ) and I have been loking around for halfling lands I can settle down in. is this a good place? and are the people friendly? And are the burrows expensive or can I work for one? I have so many questions and I am excited to get into the Lord of the Craft and roleplay with Halflings. :ujelly:

All she told him at that time is that he won't come back for along time. With the death of the father the mother had a hard time to obtain her sons health. The mother ha to take matters into her own hands. She traveled toward Elven country and decided to marry an elf named Lambien. He was a respected elf and Althalos loved him. By this time Althalos was at the age of 67 and was able to go out on his own. His step father taught him many skills that would keep him alive in the world. After everything had died down and his family was settled Althalos left his home and decided to adventure as far as his map could take him.
It was not Althalos's ambition to intentionally slay many creatures for he is a loving elf. The only reason he would kill any creatures or enemy is if they hurt the innocent. Currently Althalos is 237. He now is exploring the streets of Arethor for a job or a quest to gain him much money. Now the rest of his story should be discovered!

What are your characters ambitions?:To explore the world and to take revenge on his father.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?I walk up to the poor dwarf and fell pity for him. I spare him a few coins and walk away. Before I get far he thanks me and gives me an amulet that he says will guide me to my fate. Thank you my good dwarf. I walk away looking further into the city.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?I grasp my handle, readying to equip my sword Just then the Orc, out of rage; charges me. " Go young dwarf!" , I yell. The orc gets into slicing distance so then I swing my sword at him and he dodges. I then pull back for another attack, I hack at his leg and he yelps. He gets on the ground and begs for mercy. I let him go knowing he has caused no harm to me nor the dwarf.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I pull up the old man and I give him a bag of coins but behind his bad I grab to pay for lunch. He says thank you and gives me 5 more Minas. I feel terrible after what I did so I went to a shop where he just went and said to the shopkeeper, "Take these 8 Minas and give it to him the next time he comes. God Bless".
