    Thwing!

"Yes! Uncle! I hit the middle point!"

A cough racks out. "Yes. yes, you did...but thats not the exact middle, is it? He managed to croak out. My uncle Aelfric, had cultured me from birth, to be an archer and swordsman. With all the kindness he shown me, how could I refuse? Another racking cough, more serious than any of the others, sounded out. I rushed to our home.

We live near the beautiful city of Laurelin. We are hidden by the woods, but near enough to come and go quickly enough. Not much people know of our existence, but we like it this way. We live in a great tree that was gently carved out, each little sliver was filled with it's pain, it's sorrow, but we had to have to live, so we slowly carved it out, hurting inside as we hurt the tree.

"Uncle!" I rushed inside the little modest building, taking a moments indecision, of whether to go to my uncle first, or the restroom. I chose the first. when I ran in there, he was leaning on the windowsill, heaving over the side. "Uncle!" I cried out again.

He glanced at me, with his silvery gray eyes and spoke. It was stronger than the last few months. I felt my heart surge up. Then his words depleted my heart of the hopefulness I had felt.

    "I'm dieing, Racasdu."

My heart plummited. "Uncle! Don't say such fowl things! We can get you help, we can!"

His steely eyes stared into me, boring holes in my soul. "I'm dieing!" He said with certainity. "I am and I know it!"

    "But my trainin-"

"Your training is finished! You are as good as I can make you. Now, I want to you to do some things, like have fun with your life, you are still young! You shall not grieve over my death! You hear me?" Then he huffed, I know that this effort was nearly killing him. "Lea-leave, I need a little rest. LEAVE!"

My heart was broken, but I slinked away. Secretly, I was a little happy, as with the restroom problem.

    [The next day]

"Uncle?" I asked timidly. He had been so quiet the night before, but in the nights past, he had broken in uncontrollable fits of coughing. Thankfully, his bedding shifted.

    "Come here, boy."

I inched over and grasped his hand."Uncle-Are you okay? I have thought this over, and decided I will do what ever you want me to do." This was true. My eyes welled with tears, as I thought about what might-no, will happen, I thought to myself as I steeled my heart.

"I want you to have a adventure, leave this little wood, and journey. There are friends to make, wifes to get, guilds to join- remember, the focus is to do good. As long as you do that, I will be happy." As he said this, his voice became increasingly soft. I strained to hear his last words. " I want you to stay with me..."

He looked deep into my unsual golden eyes, and slid his hand across my face. I suddenly felt the my deep tan from spending so much time in the forest heat up. His hand stopped on my unblemished forhead, but continued onto my matt of hair, thick and black. I tried to hold my tears back, but they gushed out uncontrollably. He finally closed his eyelids. I stayed with him.

His breath became soft. A soft patter-patter against my heart. His life finally slipped, and I sat there, and against his last wishes, I grieved.

I later cremated his body, buried his remains under his favorite oak, and added a sign "Here lies Aelfric_Shadowborne, beloved uncle of Racasdu, Rest In Peace, uncle."

I slowly walked away to the east.

    What are your characters ambitions?:

To journey and have fun, what ever Aelfric wanted.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

"Mister? What is it that you are selling?" I was struck by the unfairness of him being so poor, with nary a glance from any passerbys.

"Stone Swords? Sticks?" He asked hopefully.

I handed him some minas and stard walking away. "Keep it." He rushed over to me, trying to keep up.

"I can't! That would be dishonest!"

"Keep it! You shouldn't be so poor!" I sprinted away, knowing he wouldn't be able to keep up.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

I hurriedly sprinted over the two young men.

"Hey! Stop fighting! This is a puclic road, you should be ashamed of yourselves!"

The two of them at each other, then nodded. I thought they had listened to me. I turned around, and was rewarded with two war cries.

    "Yaaargh!"

    "Gaaaaaah!"

When I woke up, all my stuff had been taken.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I walked over to the man, and cradled his head. "Are you ok?" He faintly nodded, and his eyes flickered. I slowly let his head to a rest, and gathered his minas. I put them in a bag, and fashioned him another stick.

    "Tha-thank you!" He croaked out.

    "You're welcome."

"Here." He handed me the bag of minas, and hobbled off.

"Wait!" But he was already out of sight.

You notice a stall owner has just walked away from his stall for a few moments, several guards are patrolling the area, the merchant walks towards the stall to browse its wares. To the North is a sewer grate you could escape through, though the guards seem to be patrolling it more than usual. How will you pull of this thievery?

I will pretend to be the assistant stall owner, and pretend I am the owner. I will then help the merchant buy what he needs, but secretly pull out what I want. Then I will leave.

The Upright Man has asked of you to steal a scroll from a house that is just outside the city limits of Alras, the house seems to be alive with laughter and drunken men, you look through a window to see the chest is in the room, while 5 drunken men sit around the fire telling war stories, they seem armed but drunk, you see in the corner of your eye a small hole in the roof into the room. The door hinges are old and rusty, it can be easily kicked down. How will you pull of this thievery?

I will wait until I am sure they are all drunk, then I will swagger in like I belong there. I will say "Hey! No more Wine? Go on with the stories, I'll get mo-more wine! I will go over to the chest, and take out not wine, but the scroll.

I will dig under him, and to the left, where the bag is. I will have prepared a fake, and as I dig out, I lower the plate of dirt with the bag on it. I will then place the bag on the slab of dirt, then place it back. All this will be done right before the travelers arrive. I expect them to stop and talk. When the man has realized his money has been stolen, he would suspect the travelers.

Using outside info, or stuff you aren't supposed to know, and use them. Mostly info.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:

Giving yourself a overpowered or weird power, like maybe eating chicken will give the power to slay a person with one hit.

    Thwing!

My jubilant cry was cut down by an elderly voice.

"Racasdu, Racasdu, you must shoot more precise than that!" My uncle, Aelfric, chastised me. He had been training me for years, and I had finally felt good enough to show him. I was disappointed. He broke out in a racking cough.

"Hur, hur, hagh! Hur, HUIRG! Ra-Racasdu... I'm going to die soon, no doubt about should that! You are 13 years old, you should be able to care for yourself!"

"Uncle! Don't say such things!" My face was stricken with worry, as he caressed my face. I knew that he was looking at my dark brown hair, almost black, then sliding across my face, with it's tannish complexion. As his eyes filled with tears, I stared at him, willing myself not to cry. I could see my unusual golden eyes staring back at me, from the reflection in his eye. He was my only relative, as he had adopted me, when I was merely a babe.

As he looked in my eyes now, I could see them fluttering, I gently laid him back on his bed, and sat by him. He looked contented.

I sat with him through the rest of the night, and he finally passed in the morning. I kept my grief to myself, as we had no neighbors. I buried him behind our house, under his favorite birch, and stepped away. I willed myself to look east, where I would start my journey...

    What are your characters ambitions?:

TO adventure and have fun, which was what his grandpa wanted. Also, to kill any evil, as he had been taught from when he was a toddler, to keep the goodness of people in mind.

"My dwarf, what is the trouble you are facing? I might buy your wares..." I fished out a few minas, and payed him. He raised his arm in deference, as if he didn't want the money. "You don't understand, I want to GIVE you the money, bless you, I must be on my way."

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

"Sirs! Does this cause for violence? I should think not!" I stepped toward them, and as they stared dumbfounded at this elf who disrupte their fight, I brained them both on the head. "You should be ashamed! Both of you! Both, citizens, fighting on the road? Now, apologize!" They muttered sorry, and I continued on my way.

I helped the man into a sitting position, give him a bottle of water, and pick up his coins, and put them back in the bag. When he awakes, I gave him the bag, and a stick to replace the one that broke."Are you okay? Do you need me to accompany you?" He shook his head, muttered a thanks, and shuffled off.
