  1. Howdy, I've been playing since Asulon and quit around the time Shift started releasing videos about 4.0. I'm playing as mpcommander, and my last character was a human baker in Malinor. I'm now trying to play a gentleman adventurer this time. A lot has changed since I left, and I was hoping someone could fill me in on what happened.

  2. Given name(RP name): Frederick Connors (his real name is Jon waters, but he that's what he wrote down.)

    True name(MC name):  mpcommander

    Race: Human.

Are you applying as a ranger or an ACCEPTED mage ((As in you have a MA)): Ranger.

If ACCEPTED mage what form of magic ye use?: N/A

    (Any Ban/Strike reports?): No.

    Short Answers for all Applicants;

Why do you wish to join the Delvers? There are many reasons to that question. One good reason is that I'd like a roof over my head, and a place where I can earn my keep. I'd like company, and a warm fire. I'd also like to eventually learn the art of magic. But, that's more of a long term goal.

Have you belonged to any faction or guild before?: I have not.

List three words that a guild needs to function and survive.

    Friendship.

    Ambition.

    Leadership.

In your own words describe what you think a delve is: I think it's any sort of adventure into a dungeon or cavern.

If you found an artifact and that artifact could do anything. What would it do?: I'd have it grant power to the just, and those who protect the innocent. I'd also have it curse the wicked and the cruel.

  3. Your Name: Frederick Connors

    Your Age: 25

    Your Race: Human

Are you wishing to join the college as a Mage, or a Pilgrim?: Pilgrim

  4. Two things.

One: Add some portals or something in-between the towns, its way to far away to walk.

Two: With this next antagonist, don't release any lore about it at all. Keep it a secret. I mean, I didn't read the antagonist lore, and I had a really good roleplay with another antagonist, and if I knew about the antagonist, it would probably make it worse. Why would you be scared of something you completely understand?

  5. Out-Of-Character Information

The simplest section of the application! Simply answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit better.

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: -  mpcommander

How old are you?: -  17

What time-zone do you live in?: -  EST

Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: -  Only in a game of DND. I was the DM and I controlled what the Nonplayer Characters did.

Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: - No.

Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications): - Yeah, only once. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/93267-human-mpcommander-app-1/

How did you hear about us?: - Youtube.

What do you think the server will be like? - Kind of like Skyrim but without the derpy NPC's and dumb story. What I mean is that every character you meet will be controlled by a real person, making interactions in the world feel a lot more real than exhausting all of the options on a dialogue tree.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes.

What’s your favorite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - I really like the no perma death rule unless you feel like it. I mean, it would really suck if you just started and some chump comes over and stabbed your character to death and you got no chance to play that character again. It would probably be worse if you played that character for say a year, and someone just stabbed that character in the face. That would be an awful anticlimax.

    Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

What is roleplaying?: - When you assume the role of something your not. Kind of like acting where you pretend to be someone else.

What’s metagaming?: - Where you use OOC knowledge that your character doesn't know to effect IC decisions. For example, your character accusing Bob the cultist of being a cultist just because your buddy IRL told you that Bob is a cultist. Your character didn't know that Bob is a cultist, so the only reason why you did so is because you knew OOCly that Bob is a cultist. That's Metagaming.

What’s powergaming?: - When you make your character unrealistically powerful to give your character an advantage.

    In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Lodrok Steelheart

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Cave Dwarf

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 20

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Lodrok has lived his entire life in Anthos. He was born in 1454, one year after the dwarf rebellion led by Dreek Ireheart. His father was a miner of Kal'Azgoth. His family was not well known within the Dwarven nation, but they lived honestly. Lodrok's father was named Derek, and Derek was a timid dwarf who minded his own business. Lodrok's mother died during childbirth. Lodrok could not be any more different. Lodrok would often get into fights growing up, and idolized his great-grandfather who slew one of the Undead in Aegis. Lodrok wholeheartedly embraced the code of honor present in dwarven society. Of course this meant when he wanted to join the dwarven legion when his father said no, he obeyed. It would be dishonorable to go against his family's wishes. Soon enough Lodrok learned the family trade, learning all the ins and outs of mining. One day however, after coming home from work, he saw someone putting a sword through his fathers heart. He didn't see much, it happened so fast. All he saw was a hooded figure with gleaming red eyes, holding a sword with a three fingered dark elven hand rushing out the door. Lodrok chased after him, screaming bloody murder, but the figure had vanished. So Lodrok found the heirlooms of his great grandfather, an iron warhammer and a chain shirt. He put them on and vowed to find the man who killed his father.

What are they like (personality)?: - He is a hotheaded yet honorable dwarf. He won't fight anyone who won't fight back. But, he takes notice of any slight, real or imagined. If it is in his power to insult or fight someone who did so to him, he will try to. Of course, he isn't going to kill anyone who does this sort of thing. He only wants to rough them up a little, not murder them. Lodrok has a desire for self improvement, and wants to become one of the best fighters, if not the best fighter in the world. This dwarf is curious, and doesn't like to not know what is truly going on. Lodrok likes having precious things, attributed to his dwarven curse. Lodrok has fun by going to the tavern and drinking. He can do decent work as a miner, but has no training as a warrior.

What are their ambitions?: - Lodrok wants to become the best fighter in the world, to acquire wealth, to confront the man who killed his father, and a tank of ale at his side.

Do they have any special skills?: - Lodrok is a fairly decent miner, and he can stomach a lot of alcohol.

What are their weaknesses?: - Lodrok is hotheaded, and often gets himself into bad situations that he cannot win. He assumes that a lot of people are out to get him that really aren't. Lodrok has a greed for precious things. And, he has a tendency to solve his problems with violence.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Lodrok has brown eyes, a bald head, thick brown eyebrows, a long brown beard, and he wears simple brown clothes over some chainmail.

Anything else you want to say about them?: - Not really.

Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - MJsDT6l.png

Fantastic, there you go. No need to write any more - simply post this on our forums (and on MinecraftForum like it says above) and wait!

PS. This application is a lot different than the last time I did it, was it changed or did I just screw up. O.o.
EDIT: The Minecraft forums are down, at time of writing. I will put the app there once it goes back up.
  6. Out-Of-Character Information

Please fill out the following questions as accurately
as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

    Minecraft Account Name: mpcommander

    How old are you?: 16

    Time-Zone: EST

Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I've played DnD before,
but there was little roleplaying involved in the games I played. This really
only meant talk to the NPCs.

How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: Youtube.

Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: (None)

Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do
    so (link above): Yes

Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and
follow it in your biography?: Yes

    Definitions

In your own words define the following terms. Do not
    take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Roleplaying is pretending to be someone else. Pretending to be
someone else includes keeping in mind how they think, their personality, and
    etc.

Meta-gaming: Metagaming is using OOC information to influence IC thoughts and
actions. An example would be addressing a character by name because you know it
OOC, even though your character would have no idea who that person is.

    Power-emoting:
Controlling another player's actions for your own gain. An example of this is
killing another player's character without their permission.

    In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

    Full Name: Joseph Swiftfoot

    Current Age: 24

    Sub-race (if any): Northern

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Joseph grew up in
the village of Ager. He led a simple life, his parents were peasants who farmed
a small patch of land. He was an only child and was used to his family paying
attention only to him. Joseph's father through sheer determination had learned
how to read. This was mostly done with the help of the town priest, for
Joseph's father was a pious man and always came to the church of Oren for his
problems. After his father learned to read and write, he taught Joseph. This
inspired Joseph to truly believe in the religion of the kingdom. Life went on,
and at the age of 20 his parents grew old and died, and John inherited the
farmland. He worked the land by himself for four years until something happened
    that changed his life.

After his 24th birthday Joseph began to feel odd. He had this

strange pressure against the back of his skull and neck. He also started to
feel strange sensations in his hands and feet. Joseph sometimes began to shake
uncontrollably sometimes with an arm, sometimes his entire body convulsed. He
was confused and scared, so he went to the town priest for help. The priest
believed the sickness to be a demon hiding within Joseph and attempted an
exorcism. It did nothing. Joseph visited local doctors, and they attempted to
leach him, to get rid of the "bad blood". It did nothing. Slowly, as
Joseph tried to find treatment, he began to lose faith in the Oren's religion
until he had nothing but scorn for it. Joseph wasn't ready to give up yet
however. He sold his farm for a fair bit of minas and sought to journey the
world, seeking someone who could cure his illness. Joseph set out looking for a
sorcerer, believing that perhaps magic could heal him.

Ambitions for the Future: Get his illness
cured, if that fails experience everything he wanted too. Including, but not
limited to: visiting Kal'Azgoth, visiting Leumalin, and sail on the sea.

    Personality: Joseph is a selfish
man, but he is also extremely determined. He also has a straightforward
attitude to solving problems. He won't go out of the way to help others. Joseph
pays lip service to the religion of Oren, but in truth doesn't believe in it at
all. Under his circumstances, he wants to see the world and do as much as he
can. Joseph is a cynic. Joseph is also rather curious.

    Skills: Joseph is good at
Farming, Fishing, and Hunting. Even though he is a peasant, he is somewhat
literate, although he doesn't understand most complex words, he can get by.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of
    your skin): NBaOzKF.png

    Any other details you wish
to share about your character: Joseph has a brain tumor. (Of course he lacks the
medical knowledge to know what it is beyond "sickness")

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be
answered with a minimum of one
paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

    ____

    1. Whilst in the mighty human
capital you notice a dark-clothed figure
stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within
shouting distance - what do you do?

    Answer: Joseph sees the man,
and continues to go about his business. He justifies this to himself while
walking along the city streets. He thinks: "I have no idea who that man
is, perhaps he was also just going about his business, perhaps that man is
hiding from some corrupt decree, perhaps he is a heretic because he refused to
fall into Oren's dogma, perhaps..." He continuously rationalizes this
action to himself almost without end. Joseph ends up concluding that man
    probably didn't matter anyways.

    2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest
you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small
cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable
old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed
bandits - they appear to be
threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

    Answer: Joseph turns around
and runs. He isn't going to risk anything for some old man. He thinks to
himself that the old man tried to fight experienced killers, and kind of
deserved to get robbed. As he continues to run along the forest floor, he
continues to justify it to himself. Joseph doesn't stop running until he
    reaches Ager.

    3. You are standing within the
mighty human capital when you notice a small man
standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of
general goods - he says that he is selling just about
anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you
to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that
    happens).

    Answer: Joseph's attention
is drawn towards an iron hatchet, he thinks to himself that it will be a decent
weapon and a good tool. Joseph says while pointing to the hatchet:

    "How
much do you want for this?"

    The
shopkeeper replies: "It's in 'igh demand right now. I'm gonna 'ave ter ask
    100 minas for it."

    "I'll
    buy for 25."

    "I'm
gonna need a bit more than that. 75?"

    "Let's
go for the middle road, 50 minas."

    "60
    is the lowest I'll go."

    Joseph
frowns slightly and says: "Sorry that's too much."

    The
merchant asks disappointingly: "Are yer sure?"

    "Yes."

    "Well,
sorry we couldn't make a deal. Anything else that interests ye?"

    Joseph
takes one last look at the merchant's wares before saying: "No. Farewell
    sir."

    After
saying farewell, Joseph begins walking away.

    The
merchant says: "Alrigh' farewell. If ye need anything next time in town,
    you know where to look!"
