  1. Out-Of-Character Information

Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: elfblade211

    How old are you?: 17

Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): yup

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link all past applications): nope

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: I do

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Not to allow hacking so all players are on an even playing field.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): I don't believe so, but we'll see. I'll make a mod request if one comes up.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: A friend told me about it

    Definitions

Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

What is roleplaying?: Roleplay is to immerse yourself in a role that is not your own, typically a fictional one, and act in the way your character would act rather than how you would act.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using information that your character would not know in character. If you learn something outside of the roleplay environment you're a part of, you shouldn't use it in roleplay.

What is powergaming?: Powergaming can mean to force an action on another player, or to do something totally outside the reasonable realm of possibility for your character (doing two backflips to dodge an attack, for example).

    In-Character Information

    Character’s name: Patrius Romefeller

    Character’s gender: Male

    Character’s race: Human

    Character’s age: 26

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Patrius was born to a fine human family with his twin brother Millardo shortly before the descendants moved from Thales to Athera. Their father was an entrepreneurial shoemaker who quickly became renowned for his shoe-making prowess in Petrus. Despite the shifts in political power in the city throughout the lifetime of Petrus, the family remained there for quite some time, serving as a relatively stable environment for the Romefeller children to grow up.

However, at the age of 17, Patrius had had enough. His family always compared him to his brother, pairing the two rather than treating them as individuals. His frustration at this boiled, leading him to fantasize leaving his family. After months of contemplation, he finally did it, leaving with nothing but a note left behind to inform his family that he was okay and had disappeared by choice.

Though at first he found it difficult living on his own, he found a job farming. He quickly improved his skill as a farmer, working under a kind family in Savoie lands. Though he earned his meals due to his work as a farmer, his father had taught him how to work with more skill with his hands and write as well. At night, he opted to tinker or write stories for the family he worked under, providing amusing trinkets or books for them to read. He grew fond of the family, and they grew fond of him, but eventually he left them to return to his family.

At this point, Patrius is traveling Athera searching for Millardo and his family once more.

Personality Traits: He's generally kind, but also selfish. It's difficult to frustrate him, but when he gets frustrated, he explodes (metaphorically, of course).

Ambitions: To find his family and use his skills to further his families reputation.

Strengths/Talents: He's a skilled farmer, tinkerer and writer.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: He has no real combat skill whatsoever, and has virtually no practical skills beyond the three listed above. Also, when he gets angry, he's nearly impossible to interact with, as he won't behave reasonably at all.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): He's a little below average in height and fairly thin. However, he's toned and somewhat muscular, but not bulky. He has blue eyes, blonde hair and pale skin.

Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin (If you need help, see our screenshot guide here): BcPzqbB.png

  2. Snow Elves are a culture that were the occurrence of High Elves, it's accepted that they were a sort of genetic defect in their genes. Though I heard rp'ly that it was from an event where a group of High Elves were frozen in a special location and came out of it years later as snow elves. You can only be one or the other I believe, and for Elves to learn magic isn't anything new, though it depends on what you mean as a Monk.

By a monk, I meant a peaceful, holy type person that you might find in other RP's. I noticed though that there are the Cloud Temple Monks who heal people, which I only just saw on the wiki.

Snow elves are an offshoot of high elves who got isolated in a snowy tundra for hundreds of years and apparently turned blue and got cold skin. They aren't a subrace in and of themselves.

And it's up to you whatever you want your character to be and no one is stopping you from doing anything OOCly, but be aware of the consequences as high elves have a lot of customs and expectations which may get you labeled as 'impure' if you unknowingly go against them.

I want to try to be pure and a monk, if I can, although it seems like that might be impossible.

Welcome to LOTC! Hope you enjoy your time here.

The Snow Elves, as far as I know, are actually Elves corrupted over time. Whether this is due to the Aengul Wyvrun that they worship or through the substance Thahnium i'm not entirely sure. They aren't technically their own race so they're designated as a culture. However, yes, you can only be a Snow Elf, but snow elves do share a lot of resemblances with High Elves.

Yes, that is slightly weird, but entirely possible. Monk magic isn't shunned by High-Elves since it's the only thing stopping them from going extinct like all other races, so you should be fine doing it but don't expect them to treat you highly for it (after all, you are worshiping a deity).

    Hope that answers your questions!

Cool, thanks for all the help. Even though I didn't mean the cloud temple monks, they seem cool, so I may try to be one and a high elf.

  3. I want to apply as an elf, but have a few questions.

The first is what are snow elves exactly? On the wiki, they are put separate from the other types of elves and listed as a culture. Does that mean I can be a high elf and a snow elf, or only one?

Also, would it be weird for a high elf to want to be a monk? I want to be a high elf, but I've roleplayed as a monk on some forum roleplays and that was fun too.
