  1. I can imagine it now, Lord of the Warcraft: Wrath of the Magic Plugin

Honestly though, cool idea. Always wondered how a large-scale scenario/dungeon/raid would work on a MC RP server. If you pull this off it can definitely go big.

  2. I'll do a post like MJ always does:

A stranger walks by and looks at the application... "Cool." He gives a +1humbs up.

But really, he's helpful and knows the server well. He'll joke around, sure, but he always knows when to come back around and be serious again. After working and playing with him I'll say that it's safe for me to say that he'll make a good addition to whatever team he's on. He can apply himself, adapt and is able to make good critical decisions.

He can also PvP bad apps when needed.

  3.

I hold more positions in the inner chamber than you.

I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Institute, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret projects on Finance. I have over 300 confirmed minas. I am trained in gorilla welfare and I’m the top merchant in the entire Salvian commercial forces.

Accpeted, all Syndics will be required to attend another meeting at the end of this Elven week. Application process changed.

A letter is sent back to each one of them:

To Dock: Unless you wish to go into our underdeveloped department of stone, the Foreman title is not available. As of now I'll put you into Guild Worker.

To Foreman Khalin: You're joining as the Foreman of Agriculture will be a fine addition to the guild, as a given though, we'll need to speak more about this in person.

To Gandharva: We spoke in person and sadly I had to cut that off, the only High Overseer is me and runesmithing will be classified under metallurgy for now. You will be given a researcher title instead and we will speak more about this.

A fine parchment is nailed over a older, sun baked leaflet. It's sides adorned with detailed decorations and the top with a immaculate "S". The paper abhors a sense of work, wealth, power and knowledge, all four of which are the founding ideals of the new and reformed Syndicate.

    Written upon it ornately:

“To those who dare take the risk of entrepreneurship,

To those who find solace in a good days work,

To those who strive to better hone their skills,

And to they who long for opportunity, discipline and adventure…

    ~/The Syndicate\~

Have you wandered to the South? Have you witnessed the sights to behold? It is magnificent, it perpetuates grace, beauty and opportunity! All that lies in the fertile lands of the South is ripe for pickings to those with an eye for minas and invention. The very land itself cries for development, nay a war or purge, but for the amplification of it’s beauty by the magnificent work of those who care for the realm. The very people who grasp this opportunity are those who form the Syndicate’s rank. These men and women devote themselves to upholding the core values of the High Overseer and the ideals of the Syndicate.

Here is what the Syndicate does: it takes the resources (whether human or natural capital) that it has at its disposal and refines them to be the very best. The Syndicate strives for efficiency in all it does, a better market, a maximum of profit and a minimum of loss. But the Syndicate shall not forget it’s own members while fulfilling its purpose. Every individual is fuel, a gear in the large machine that is the economy of the realm. Thus said, each member is prized, groomed and pampered under the parental wings of the Syndicate and all of it’s associates.

Business is the cornerstone of the Syndicate, thus what is good for business is also good for the Syndicate. The companies, valaise and merchants that all take up the mark of the Syndicate reap the rewards that are offered to them wholeheartedly, as the only way to stay successful in Syndicate economics is to grow, and grow they shall.

    jy0OhXB.jpg?1

    -Divisions-

Administration & Workforce (or A&W)- Consider it the head and bones of the Syndicate. The Administration is the link that ties the workforce, resources and ect. to the other divisions as well as having to function as the entity that ensures Syndicate economics will prosper. The Workforce is the Administrations right hand in all of this, providing good labor and budding opportunities to the Valaise and Institute.

Valaise - The organs. Valaise is a flamboyant Salvian word for companies, the Syndicate has adopted it to mean all companies, Syndics or the conglomerate. The driving force of Syndicate growth, the companies focus on the production of minas while the rest of the Syndicate focuses on helping them grow. The wants of the Syndics are taken to a high accord.

Institute - The Institute is, at last, the fancy clothing. Using the Institute, the Valaise and A&W have access to powerful minds dedicated to the innovation of a companies business practices and other tasks which would benefit the Syndicate over all. Prestigious and elite, all members of the Institute must swear an oath to an Overseer to enter.

    -Deals-

To Salvus - Under contract to supply job opportunities to it’s people.

To Tahu’nor - Obliterated, It's name and politic is now defaulted to the Syndicate.

To Sylverport - Friendly delegations of co-operation.

To Urguan - Mentorship of workers in the field of metallurgy.

    Nation/Organization benefits:

    Influx of workers and jobs.

    Eligibility of supply deals.

    Eligibility of development deals.

Eligibility of Syndicate meetings and event hostings.

Access to Institute discoveries and library.

    -/Research & Development\-

    ~The Institute~

    b2SEBDx.jpg?1

A major component of all progress within the Syndicate would have to be the brilliant, attentive and observant minds that have gone under great stress to bring great ideas to reality. The Syndicate lets only the most promising individuals fall into its research division in the wing of the organization dubbed the Institute. When one commits themselves to the life of a researcher they will be put through mental trials throughout the world and at classrooms or laboratories back at home. It should be obvious to tell that the Institute is a crown jewel, the cream of the crop and the bow on the gift within the Syndicate. Working hand in hand with the administration and companies of the Syndicate, the researchers create, innovate and bring solutions to complexities to the countless situations that will lie ahead of each and everyone of them.

The Institute also contains the Foreman slot for individuals who would find themselves more apt to helping guide the development of Syndicate property and business. They are the closest position you can actually get to any kind of administrative role without having to go through all of the processes to enter it.

    Researchers get benefits such as:

    Sponsorship.

    Business travel.

    Pay bonuses.

Double hiring (Possibility of being paid by both the Syndicate and a Valaise)

    Training, mentorship & apprenticeship.

    Housing in Syndicate sponsored cities.

    Personal workspace.

    Partisanship

    ~Administration & Workforce~

    oERdfaB.jpg?1

What could the Syndicate be without it’s loyal and powerful workforce or it’s courageous and able leadership? The answer to that question is nothing, the Syndicate would be nothing. It may be a basic question but so many organizations in the world do forget how to properly take care of their own and to shape them into even greater versions of themselves. The Syndicate takes the time to show it’s pride and care to it’s workforce and it’s leadership giving benefits and training to all that wish to become personnel.

    Workers get benefits such as:

    Housing in Syndicate sponsored cities.

    Training & apprenticeship.

    Pay bonuses.

Ability to easily transfer jobs within Syndicate companies.

    Preferential treatment.

Easier access to researcher promotions and projects.

    ~Companies and Merchants~

    GE0KZAX.jpg

The Valaise, its workers and its owners are the true money makers of the Syndicate. The Valaise have been paramount to the Syndicate and the High Overseer ever since the acquisition of its first company.  With companies and merchants being the major pushers and pullers on the economic stage, they should reflect the success of the Syndicate as well as the success that all of Athera economics should strive for. Once under the Syndicate, Valaise are considered to be registered under it, making them completely neutral and taxed entities entitled to the Syndicate. Merchants also share a spot in the Syndicate for they act as traveling selling arms of the all the divisions combined.

    Syndic/Company/Merchant benefits:

Council to the High Overseer and other Overseers.

Access to research projects and project creation.

    Housing/shops in Syndicate sponsored towns.

    Initial aid.

    Protection.

    Access to the Syndicate workforce.

    Development help.

    Consultation.

    Representation in Syndicate delegations.

    Undisclosed benefits, coming soon!

As with any order with order, there are rules and guidelines:

    - Do not spread trade secrets and guild research to other guilds or nations, period.

    - Do not hamper or impede the progress of the guild or a Valaise within the guild whatsoever.

    - Embezzlement of resources, a discovery or money is highly punishable to any person. If a Valaise or person of high status is expected to have done this a tribunal will be held.

    - We are not held accountable to any injury you suffer on job.

-Follow the commands of the High Overseer and in command over you rigorously.

Any questions or clarification of rules should be taken to Overseers only.

    -Job Index-

    High Overseer:

The Keystone, the linchpin, say what you must but the High Overseer must mediate between politics, the Institute and the Syndics in order to keep the Syndicate on track with it’s goals and the goals of it’s members. Head of all the divisions. A designated position.

    Overseer:

Picked right hand men of the High Overseer. They share in the same job aspects as the High Overseers but could be called more mediators than leaders. A commissioned position.

    Syndic:

Owners of a Valaise that has capital in the Syndicate. Their collective wants are to be expressed to an Overseer. They also have control in how many resources and workers they would like to loan to the Syndicate. A earned position.

    Researcher:

A worker or scholar who's reached the point of professionalism that they'd be better off using their skills to both teach others and learn more of their trade. If a study is going on, they will be required to give input on it if it is within their field of expertise. Oath required.

    Foreman:

Person of the Institute best apt to managing local businesses and tax collection. Acts as a buffer/alleviation between the A&W, Institute and Valaise. Unlike the Researchers or Overseers, Foremen would be best still employed under a Valaise as a clerk or consultant. A commissioned position.

    Merchant:

A traveller set about to sell products given to them by the Valaise or sometimes other divisions of the Syndicate. Payment for Merchants would have to be worked out between their suppliers and themselves. Commission is the default payment. Merchants may also be tasked out to locate precious items.

    Direct Worker:

A worker in direct employment of the Syndicate, can be hired straight from the streets or bought from a Valaise. While they'll most likely be working for the Syndicate and the Institute division it is possible for them to be loaned to Valaise as one would loan a worker to the Syndicate.

    Worker:

Defacto position for any worker who has joined the guild. Gains all the benefits of being a normal worker but is more at the disposal of a Valaise than the Syndicate.

    Indirect Worker:

A worker not employed by the guild at all, but rather the company. They have don’t have access to any of the benefits of the Syndicate but are still viable to partake and be given Syndicate tasks due to affiliation with a Valaise.

    -Job Terminology-

In-training/Trainee: The person has the position but is currently under mentorship.

Transition: In the process/planning to move from one department to another. Doing this slighlty compromises their standing in the current division.

  11. The Chronicles Of Nub'tug: The Parenting

    As told by Tyrell Blavier

The story in which I'm about to tell you is 100% true and this is to be proven by absolutely no witnesses, since I'm 100% trustworthy. It is a grand story of lust and love, fear and betrayal, but most of all, a story of Nub'tug the Magnificent.

It all truely started once I ate some berries near a beach between the costal town of Vivitas to the furthrest reaches of the Orenian Empire. I slept and woke with a small amount of time passing but so much changing during my sleep. Oddly dressed people were everywhere, roaming aimlessly and I asked what they were. They were surprised that I could see them and said "when is my application going to be accepted" ,being that I did not know what nonsense this was about, moved on. I assume that these berries allow one to see the dead.

I first met Nub'tug on a trail near Salvus wherein once we locked eyes we knew what had to be done. Nub'tug ran to me and I to him in the most graceful manner in a field of flowers. The wind was blowing so lightly in my hair and the thorn bushes Nub'tug was running through was most obviously piercing through his loincloth and causing great discomfort to his manhood. I was now no less than a stones throw away from Nub'tug and my clothes already fell off, lord knows why that happened. Nub'tug and I decided that the best course of action would be to gather my belongings and continue where we started.

We both sat clothed on the side of the road speaking to each other in the most sophisticated mannor that a human could talk to a grammatically incorrect Olog. I had to ask him the question we both knew that had to be asked "Will you sign my book?" Why I had this book about Nub, for Nub and by Nub was quite mysterious and what made it worse is that there was nothing in it and I had to write it for him. Other items appeared on my person too now that I think about it... a paper saying something about a Nexus with all my life information on it was there. Nub'tug proceeded to tell me his life story, which goes as follows:

"I was 7 years old when it all started, I liveded (he intentionally made me do that) with my dad who's name was Father and my mom whose name was also Father. Life was so peaceful in my village, not a care in the world. Father had made me cheftan of the orcs as he/she knew I had something special within me and I was trained to do magic by the most best wizards of Azeroth." Nub'tug proceeds to cry. "One day Gandalf, my wife and I were sitting by the river when we saw a bunch of parents coming down the river on a boat. They taunted us and sang- we were peterfried. Father said run and decided to continue standing where he/she was and we was die in front my eyes. The parents were killing my orcs. Father was less stupid and ran with me to the nearest village but he/she died by bandits after I killed them. I swore vengeance on parents and badgers and lived happily ever after in my new village. The End."

I was absolutely confused about what Nub'tug was talking about but he proceeded to talk to me about this new concept of "Roleplay" and the three pillars of if it, which were "Roleplay, Metagaming and Powergaming" and are to be defined as such:

Roleplay is walking up and down the Stone Road, waiting for an encounter to happen.

Metagaming is using Skype and Teamspeak (Lord knows what that is.)

Powergaming is there's nothing wrong with it.

Nub'tug then whipped out a piece of paper and forced me to draw and account of his story too:

    Lm0fA63.png

Now that he's drove everything to Hell, Nub'tug decides to throw me upon his shoulder and begins hopping across the land. End me please.
