  2. Scaran strolls up to the party of Watchmen as they march to the winery. "I have heard of your endeavors, you watchmen are what truly keep these roads safe for all people of the North." Scaran taps the hilt of his blade. "Perhaps I may assist in the future?"

  3. The Reformation of The County of Ayr

    republic.jpg

Following the Fall of Aesterwald, the four known Bloodwells abandoned their businesses in Vanderfell. This merchant family, looked East, and found the then abandoned County of Ayr. House Bloodwell believed that Ayr's location and infrastructure would allow it to play a major role in foreign trade under their governance. Upon claiming Ayr, House Bloodwell established a simple system of government consisting of a council and a count. This measure was taken to ensure that no foreign powers could usurp the land before they could establish their ultimate goal. House Bloodwell and the citizens of Ayr desire to develop the County of Ayr into a well-known hub of trade. Establishing this hub of trade, will allow House Bloodwell and various merchant class citizens to spread trade and prosperity all throughout the realm. The formal reform of the government and county is required to follow through with their plans. This document states the changes made during this reform.

Formally Issued by House Bloodwell The 12th of the Amber Cold, 1491 to all Citizens of the County of Ayr and foreign powers who seek trade.

    • The Government of Ayr shall be reformed to become a Trade Republic. House Bloodwell shall serve as the ruling merchant House in this Trade Republic.
    • The County of Ayr shall be formally renamed to The Trade Republic of Arcton.
    • The Economy of past Ayr shall be reformed.
      • All taxes levied are directly funding expansion of the city, promotion of trade, and promotion of education via the planned Arcton Academy and supporting the guilds in Arcton. They are minimalist, with a base tax of ten Minas, and shall increase for owning land and shops. The Steward is in charge of all taxation.
      • Arcton Academy shall be established with Wombak Bloodwell as it's headmaster.
      • Free Education shall be provided to all citizens of Arcton by the Arcton Academy. Out of region students will be required to pay a tuition fee.
      • The Grand Smithing Guild of Arcton shall be established with Galahad Nicodemo as it's Guildmaster.
      • Free trade shall be promoted with the utmost importance, with no taxation on imports or exports.
    • The levy of past Ayr shall be disbanded to promote neutrality and trade.
      • Any past forces of Ayr shall be disbanded, and provided a new role in the Trade Republic.
      • Few paid guards shall remain in Arcton to ensure the safety of it's populace and foreign merchants.
    • Diplomatic Relations shall have a new beginning in Arcton.
      • All previous treaties and agreements will be considered invalid by the Trade Republic of Arcton until renewed.
      • All previous rivalries, threats, acts of war, and anything of the sort shall be ignored and voided.
      • Trade agreements shall be established with foreign powers that wish to trade within the Trade Republic of Arcton.
      • The Trade Republic of Arcton considers itself a neutral party and land that allows all races and parties of the realm to enter and trade.
      • The Trade Republic of Arcton will continue to preserve independence and peace.
      • The Trade Republic of Arcton shall attempt to establish friendly terms with all foreign powers.

The Trade Republic of Arcton hopes for an entirely bright future, and many new beginnings. The populace of Ayr hopes to establish an excellent, strong system of trade in all of the Realm. They aim only to benefit all kingdoms and parties, in return all they request is peace and freedom so that they may improve all lands and the global economy of Athera for years to come.

(OOC Notes: If anyone has any questions regarding the newly formed Trade Republic of Arcton, please feel free to contact me! If you have any ideas that could improve our Roleplay environment, we will love to hear them! Thanks for reading!)

  4. The Port Town of Ayr

Ayr, a peaceful town neighboring the Duchy of Vanders. For quite some time, it had been under construction underneath House Winter. Due to the recent Exodus of House Winter, it seemed as if Ayr was left abandoned. In the neighboring city of Vanderfell, House Bloodwell thrived. Once the Kingship of Waldenia came into question, Vanderfell plunged into uncertainty. House Bloodwell looked to the Port Town of Ayr, as they sought a new home away from the turmoil within the Capital City of Aesterwald. Upon reaching confirmation from Harold Winter and Rosencrantz Revandir, the Bloodwells transitioned to Ayr. They have now hung their banners for travelers to see and claimed ownership of Ayr.

Currently, the town is questioning its sovereignty.

It is clear Ayr and its citizens seek independence and peace.

House Bloodwell has established governance over Ayr.

Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Yes, I am entirely aware that this is a PG-13 server. I am not bothered by this fact at all.

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link all past applications): No, I have never submitted an application in the past to this site.

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Mainly, I highly agree with the Roleplaying rules regarding metagaming and powergaming. These issues are most common from what I have seen in the past as a serious roleplaye participant.

    Definitions

Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

What is roleplaying?: To act or to speak as if you are playing a role (character) other than yourself. You must keep your speech and actions in the context of the setting in which your character exists.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the use of Out of Character knowledge (that your character would not exactly know) in roleplay. For example, asking a friend who plays on the same Roleplay server as you for information on what someone did during roleplay, so that you may go confront them in character.

What is powergaming?: Powergaming is using unrealistic actions and descriptions that make your character more powerful than he/she should actually be. For example, you are always playing to win and gain additional power. Your focus is on beating everyone else, and not on actually roleplaying. Therefore you bend the game and over exaggerated your character.

    In-Character Information

    Character’s name: Scaran Bloodwell

    Character’s gender: Male

    Character’s race: Human

Character’s age: Twenty-eight years of age

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):

Scaran Bloodwell was born to a middle-aged couple who resided on a sea-side farmstead known only as "Bloodwell's Landing". On this coastal farmstead, Scaran lived out most of his younger days alongside his younger brother Wombak Bloodwell. Scaran's mother, Talia Bloodwell, was a caretaker to all who lived on Bloodwell's Landing. Scaran's father, Adin Bloodwell, was a man of many trades. He was an adept farmer, fisherman, hunter, craftsmen, and even a decent blacksmith. Scaran became the apprentice of his father, when he was merely five years of age. Scaran's brother was far too  young and had a few years before he would be eligible to perform any physical labor. Therefore, a lot was demanded of Scaran, his father worked vigorously to pass on his many valuable trades and ways to his son. For years, Scaran spent a lot of time studying the trades of his father. By the age of nine Scaran was a skilled craftsmen, fully understood blacksmithing, was able to hold his own in a fight, learned the basics of farming and spent a lot of time learning about various ships and how they worked. Adin was not entirely pleased with his eldest son, for he knew his son was a slow learner when it came to reading, writing, and overall thinking in general. For the most part, Scaran was a hardworking boy who was well on his way to a prospering adulthood. Everything seemed to be going perfect, until one stormy night on the Landing…

Scaran sleeping alongside brother, was awoken in the middle of a rainy night by his father's cold, wet hand. Adin tried his best to explain to his sons, that they were in grave danger. Adin Bloodwell had lived on such an isolated plot of land for years, because he was living in fear and denial. Adin had many enemies that he had made in his younger years working as a mercenary. There was one man in particular, that dreamed only of slaughtering Adin Bloodwell and his family. Adin had angered a powerful orcish bandit leader of that time period, known as "Brute Irontooth" .  On that very night, Brute Irontooth had finally located the Bloodwell Family. Adin had just enough time to warn Scaran and Wombak, that they had to escape at once. Scaran was provided with a large worn, suit of light armor and a rusty old short sword. His goal, was to escape the farmstead and protect himself and his younger brother while doing so. Adin stayed behind and attempted to buy some time for his sons while they made their escape. Scaran used his newly learned skillset to keep him and his brother alive on their journey to a nearby town his father had described as "Pravets". The Bloodwell brothers lived out their teenage years homeless and hopeless. When they reached middle aged, Wombak became a "travelling opportunist" and Scaran used the teachings of his father to make a living. The brothers supported one another and tried to make the best out of their previously shattered lives. The brothers stayed in Pravets for a fear years, but recently they have migrated to the Dwarven town of Vanderfell when they caught word that they are rumored to be seeking additional merchants and craftsmen. Scaran strives to become one of the richest, happiest men in the entire realm of Athera, his starting will be in Vanderfell. The location of Bloodwell's Landing is unknown to Scaran, for he had always been near it at all times. His father did not let him travel or leave the landing, for he knew his family was always in danger. Adin Bloodwell may be dead now, but his memory and legacy will always live on in his eldest son's safety.

Personality Traits: When face to face with strangers, Scaran is a rather suspicious and fairly defensive man. When he truly gets to know someone a change in personality can be seen. Around his close allies and family, he is a joke-telling, beer-drinking, outgoing human being. He enjoys working with his allies in order to accomplish any goal. There are practically two personalities to Scaran. If you are not exactly on his "good-side", you would consider him a quiet, but menacing character. On the other hand, if you do get to know Scaran he will appear to be an excellent companion!

Ambitions: Scaran strives to establish a glorious farmstead in which he can raise a family, provide shelter to his allies, and commit to a hardworking lifestyle. He dreams of building up his personal wealth, so that he may provide anything and everything that he or his brother may need. At some point in his future, he wishes to act as a valuable leader and manage a group of some sort.

Strengths/Talents: Scaran is a fairly strong human being. He can handle participating in vigorous physical labor and activity. Scaran is a skilled craftsmen and blacksmith who can do anything from forging tools or repairing the hull of a ship. He excels at boosting the morale of his companions. He can hold his own in a brawl, and somewhat stands a chance in a battle with weapons. He looks to the future, and actively strives to reach his goals.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Scaran is painfully bad at making friends with strangers. He is always suspicious and worried about the actions strangers may take against him or his companions. It is difficult for him to socialize in locations in which a lot of people are present. He is unskilled in terms of reading, writing, and fine arts.  Scaran is a daydreamer that thinks only of his and his brother's future and tends to ignore the past. He is a poor salesman and has a hard time bargaining with customers.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Scaran is a tall man who stands at 6'5. He has a relatively muscular upper and lower body build. He weighs 210 Ibs. His head is covered with dirty blonde hair. His face comes complete with light blue, mesmerizing eyes, large bushy eye brows, a bushy moustache, and topped off with a well-groomed dirty blonde beard that rides his chin and jaw area. He is commonly seen wearing a well-worn, iron and leather set of light armor.

(Something to Note: Wombak Bloodwell is already a character on this server, played by Piekiller. We have collaborated on forging this story. The story is based around Scaran, but Wombak plays a large part in most of his Roleplay due to the fact they are always with one another.)
