    Shapemelding: As a raw shaping of mana, guided by magegold plates, this Atronach can shift its ‘physical’ form. These can be between nondescript, starry-portal like figures reminiscent of an average, nonbinary human, elf, orc, or dwarf.

    Red-Lines:

    • Aesthetic purposes only. Be realistic.

    • Will never have any detailed, describable facial features.

    • Will never exceed 8’ foot as any race.

    • Reverts (willingly or otherwise) to an average, 6’ humanoid figure upon initiation of combat.

    • Will implode on itself if more than [5] half-expatriations are attempted, stunning itself for [1] emote afterwards as it restabilizes.

    Voidal Feeling: Due to its nature as raw mana, this Atronach can utilize Voidal Feeling only to the extent of knowing if something is Voidal in nature or not. Takes [2-6] emotes.

    • Limited only to knowing if something is Voidal in nature or not, indicated by some aesthetic change (if Voidally inclined) or nothing changing at all.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

             

    • Due to its raw and unstable nature:

      • Linoronn is unable to transport more than [2] or [3] items/people at once. Anything more will cause it to implode on itself, cancelling the warp and rendering the atronach itself stunned and unable to move or do anything for the next emote.

      • Linoronn must be recharged by a [T5] Transfigurationist or at a Mana Obelisk every 2 days.

      • Linoronn cannot interact with the physical world aside from the mage-gold plates and core which it is bound to. Cannot speak nor smell, though is receptive to sight and hearing.

      • It is equal to a [T5] Translocationist and Transfigurationist, though will always be limited to the set of spells listed above. Cannot teach either magic and cannot learn new magic.

      • Any contact with Abjuration will immediately dispel/disperse it, leaving only the core and plates.

      • If hit by any metaphysical energies such as fire evocation, Linoronn will disperse after [2] direct hits. Blunt weapons/evocations or anything reasonably crushing mage-gold on a direct hit will take [1] emote. 

      • Cannot have its abilities enhanced through a Circling Ritual, as the sudden fluctuation of magic would overload the core.

      • The same amount of Shifts exist for each listed spell, whereas instead of mana exhaustion, the Atronach will suffer from instability and be unable to cast until the next combative instance.

    • Wards against Translocation will not allow the Atronach to move past, rejecting its nature.

    • Any item that is able to affect the metaphysical will react the same way with Linoronn.

    • Requires an Atronach [CA] to play, linking this MArt if accepted.

     

    Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

             

    Raw mana alongside the knowledge of Translocation and Transfiguration is bound to a magegold core and plates that serve as an ever-shifting guide for its largely metaphysical figure. This is done through the funneling and charging of mana from a Mana Obelisk into an encased gem that must be regularly recharged. Due to its fluctuating nature, the atronach will sometimes visibly ‘glitch’ as it attempts to maintain its form. The atronach is notably weaker than its elemental cousins, easily being able to be dispersed and largely being unable to interact with the physical world akin to ghosts.

     

    Wanted to try a utilitarian/aesthetic/support approach to atronach creation instead of the basic evocation POV. Willing to change things around/feedback accepted !

             Translocation

     

    Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

             

    Translocation is a magic within the school of Alteration that is focused around the deconstruction and reconstruction of items within the Void and the utilization of mana anchors to drag and transport other organisms as well as the self through the Void and into another location. 

     

    Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

             

    There are two different sections of Translocation defined under the words 'Expatriation' and 'Shifting'. Expatriation is the affixation of a mana anchor onto an object then followed by a deconstruction of said object's essence into the Void for later use. Shifting uses the same methodology except instead of objects, the mana anchor can be used on others as well as theirselves. 

     

    First is Expatriation, the deconstruction and reconstruction of an object through the Void via the affixation of a mana anchor onto said object. This includes the following spells: Void Pocket, Summon Weapon, and Half Expatriation. Void Pocket is the essence of this 'section' of Expatriation - the storing of an inorganic object inside of the Void using a mana anchor. Items up to 4 cubic meters may be stored by oneself once having achieved full mastery, but anything above that size requires a circling ritual to be stored and retrieved from the Void. Summon Weapon is self-explanatory, with the pre-requisite being that one acquaints themself with the weapon beforehand and there can be no complicated weapons stored successfully. The last of them is Half Expatriation, the creation and holding of two separate (yet connected) rifts that can be used as a two-way transportation system. 

     

     

    Next is Shifting, the transitioning of organic material through the Void via the affixation of a mana anchor onto said target. This includes the following spells: Minor Teleportation, Brisk Step, Greater Teleportation, Group Teleportation, and Material Teleportation. These are mostly self-explanatory, with Minor and Greater Teleportation being the transportation of a mage through the Void by setting both temporary and permanent mana anchors in the world. Group Teleportation is the same as Greater Teleportation, but with more than one individual. Material Teleportation is the same, but with a stationary object. Brisk Step, however, is the same as Minor Teleportation but quicker and more taxing. This is used most commonly in the midst of battle, and the distance travelled can only be linearly for oneself only. 

     

    Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

             

    Situation: Ravondir and his friends have just ended a shogging session with the nearby halflings.

     

    [!] Ravondir waved to his friends, laughing at the joke in his departure. His fingers spasmed shortly as he stopped in his tracks, staring to the side suddenly. 

     

    [!] Ensuing emotes.

     

    [!] He shoots his hand out, a distortion having appeared just in front of him. His hand disappears in said distortion, to which then the elf slowly drug his down linearly before sticking his other hand in and spreading the 'cut' he had made. Upon spreading it, the distortion had been revealed to be a rift just around Ravondir's figure. He gave a final wave and smile to his friends, stepping inside the rift that had promptly closed behind him.

     

    [!] Ensuing emotes and soulstoning to get to location.

     

    [!] Ravondir's figure had suddenly appeared into vision beside the pillar, a blood-red smog leaking from beneath his feet.

     

    Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

             

    Situation: Ravondir is preparing to teach his student the spell 'Brisk Step'.

     

    Ravondir gestured his student to follow, conversing while they walked. "I've noticed your adeptness in teleporting yourself. You've been going further."

     

    Leona walks alongside him, talking back. "Thanks! So what's next?"

     

    "I see fit to teach you something my old friend called 'Brisk Step'." Having found a suitable location for their lesson, a cleared spot in some woods on the outskirt on Haense that was relatively quiet enough. "It is the same as Material Teleportation."

     

    Leona groaned.

     

    "But faster. Imagine speeding through the Void to escape a boulder crashing down on you or something. Better yet, I'll throw a rock at you. You don't dodge, you get hit. Trial by error." At this, Ravondir bent down and scooped up some dirt, snow, and a small rock in his hand, clumping it together in order to form a projectile. He winded his new weapon, prompting Leona to get ready.

     

    [!] Here is where I would OOCly send them the lore, and refer to Brisk Step. I'd tell them the basics of the spell and its red-lines (most importantly the disorientation after casting) as well as the emote count necessary to complete the casting. 

     

    Leona squatted down at this, fists clenching tightly with a slight shake from both the cold and the ethereal connection that had just been established between her and the Void. Her eyes slowly opened and flitted them about in search of an area to shift towards.

     

    Ravondir pitched the rock towards her forehead.

     

    Leona, seeing the object fly towards her, burst into a trail of aquamarine aura that leaked and lead to a position right of where she was recently standing. The rock thudded against the ground as she'd come into rematerialization, grunting and gasping from exertion, attempting to recover from the sudden shifting and the toll it took on her. 

     

    Ravondir turned slightly to face her, "Good job."

     

     

     

     

    Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

             

    After hearing about the powergaming incident, I'd contact the student first off by any means open to me (Discord, in game, etc.). Then, ask to meet in some sort of voice chat so that we could talk privately. If we're unable to do that, then I'd just message them privately and tell them what exactly they did wrong while sending a link of the actual lore post. Then, I'd ask what they were thinking at the moment and what made them make that decision in that period. I'd suggest to them, regardless of answer, that they take a few days break from magic at the least, and review the lore. Then, I'd ask for them to emote every spell in the Discord/in-game chat and screenshot it so that they'd have it for later.

             Transfiguration

     

    Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

             

    Being part of the school of Alteration, Transfiguration is a mostly-utilitarian magic that takes up [2] slots on a character's persona because of its array of abilities and usefulness. It is the manipulation of mana in our realm on a more complex level than ever. It is noted to follow the law of equivalent exchange and allows a mage to do the following: enchanting by binding a spell and accompanying trigger to an object, creating fields of disruptive magical energy to dissuade opponent's magical attacks, and literally altering an item as one sees fit if given the right materials. 

     

    Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

             

    There are four sections of Transfiguration that may be elaborated on: warding/abjuration, enchanting, Voidal Feeling, and Transmutation.

     

    Warding/Abjuration:

    The most combat intensive way of using Transfiguration, warding and abjuration focuses on creating a barricade of coagulated mana that directly overpowers or matches the aura of an opposing figure in power and formation. This causes the opposing mass of mana to deconstruct due to the strange make-up and interaction with the barrier, turning it in on itself. In some cases, one may re-direct a spell that is flung at them if it hits the barrier. Abjuration is most useful to older mages, but only because this method of rewiring spells can only be used by those against opposing magics which they've already learned in the past. If unknown, then the application of warding would fail. Under this section of Transfiguration are the following spells: Ward Shield and Abjuration. While Ward Shield allows the mage to form a stationary barrier that will block oncoming spells, Abjuration allows a mage to send out a ball-sized concentration of mana in order to achieve the same goal.

     

    Enchanting:

    Being a widely coveted facet of Transfiguration, enchanting is very versatile in its application. None of this may be done in combat. There are three different types of enchanting: Lesser, Potent and Grand. Lesser enchantments have no combative potential and are mostly used for aesthetic enchantments or utilitarian aid. Potent enchantments are limited to hand-held items that are bonded with certain lower-level spells that can be activated when given a trigger (triggers are anything that serves as a catalyst for the enchantment to begin such as: words, a rune to touch, an action). Grand enchantments must be bonded to an item covered by at least a fourth of magegold/Arcanium (magegold is notably brittle), and can be bonded with mastery-level spells. All enchantments will passively recharge by naturally drawing in the passive mana from the world around it in time.

     

    These enchantments may be helped and added onto by other enchanters using a spell called 'Co-Enchant', where mages utilize the circling ritual to gather their mana to imbue onto an object.

     

    There are two others spells under Enchanting: Entrap Spell and Mana Ley Line. Entrap Spell is used exactly how it sounds, where a mage takes a container and traps a spell inside of it (only one may be trapped at a time in a single container). The container will take on the aesthetic of said magic and must be transparent and a minimum of six inches in diameter. Mana Ley Lines can be used to connect powerful sources of mana to empower a certain enchantment. These lines must be linear, and foci crystals must be placed every 5 meters (5 blocks) to keep the mana flowing. These connections are serverable with gold/magegold and a Transfigurationist.

     

    Voidal Feeling:

    The first steps taken as a Transfigurationist are with Voidal Feeling. With Voidal Feeling, a mage can find out the properties belonging to an object such as: natural color, freezing/melting/boiling points, average temperature, flammability, volatility, toxicity, and if the object if magically or alchemically (must have an Alchemy MA) inclined amongst other things. With more experience, alloys can be examined. However, living matter and other magics outside the reach of the Void cannot be examined. The larger the object is, the longer it will take for a mage to learn all of its properties and the more exhausted one will be afterwards. To do any of this, a mage must creates a stable stream of mana (which can only be accomplished outside of combat) that they imbue onto a non-living object which is said to 'chip away' at the object in exchange for information. 

     

    Transmutation:

    After learning the exact properties of another object, hence why Transmutation is often used in conjunction with Voidal Feeling, a Transfigurationist may choose to alter the physical makeup of an item. One can do the following things: alter shape, temperature, color, density, as well as fuse and separate items. There is also a spell, Enchanced Magelight, that is essentially the drawing in of light energy around oneself to concentrate it into a bright ball of the mage's aura color. If overcharged, however, it can create a blinding explosion.

     

    Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

             

    Situation: Ravondir and co. are delving within a cave system. He casts Magelight.

     

    [!] Ravondir took the first step, his fingers spasming at he gazes into the abyss-looking path ahead of him.

     

    [!] Ensuing emotes.

     

    [!] The elf brought his left hand into the air just next to his head, palm beginning to shake. A glow overtook it then, and something seemed to be forming just above the uplifted palm.

    [!] Over the course of the next few moments, sparks flit to life above his hand. A slow gathering of light had formed with a brighter red tint to it, giving the others a decent range of vision around the mage. It hovered there with Ravondir, floating up and down nonmenacingly.

     

    Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

             

    Situation: Ravondir has recently enchanted a torch in his room to set alight with the trigger being two claps. He asks his newly attuned student to use Voidal Feeling to understand the enchantment. 

     

    Ravondir takes the wooden stick from its perch on his wall, holding it out to Leona. To the eye, it seemed to be a simple piece of wood for the taking. "I want you to Feel this. Do you remember what I showed you last time?"

     

    Leona takes the unlit torch, confusion evident. "Yeah. Okay." She seats herself next to the fireplace, holding the torch in both of her hands. Her fingers twitch, then she stops. "Why am I doing this?"

     

    Ravondir had followed her to the fireplace, standing just next to her. He looked down, explaining, "With Voidal Feeling, you can find information where you thought information never was. At your level of experience with this, you should be able to find out if something has magical properties or not. That's what we're looking for - or, maybe, it's just a regular torch waiting to be lit."

     

    [!] I would OOCly note here that they may emote the entire charging/Voidal Feeling process assuming no other persona walked in and interrupted the lesson. I'd say that since the enchanted torch is an hand-held object, this instance would need 4 emotes. One to connect, two to charge, and another to cast. 

     

    Leona nods, understanding. She then grips the torch tighter, fingertips loosening and tightening their hold on the wood at random junctions as she focused intently. Given that there were no interruptions in the area around them, an aura slowly grew around her clutched hand. It grew brighter and brighter with every moment passed and eventually reached a noticeable peak. Slowly, then, did a mist of the same color secrete from the glowing area of her hands and covered the torch. As this happened, sweat followed the same process on her brow and now-reddened face, though she seemed to be handling the casting well in most other aspects. As this happened, the nature of the item would come to be revealed to her, which was...

     

    [!] And revealed the nature was.

     

    [!] Here, I would DM them asking what information they wanted. Before, I'd remind them the basics of what information is accessible to them and what casting this at T2 does to their persona. Obviously, the next emote is after I told them that the torch was enchanted to burn alight with the trigger of two consecutive claps.

     

    Leona drops the torch, falling back into her seat with a sudden gasp for breath as her connection is broken. It clunked against the floor, rolling about as she recovered from the taxing process.

     

    Ravondir smiled with satisfaction, sitting beside her in the next seat, picking up the torch. He held it in a hand, asking her, "So, what did you learn?"

  9. An accused elf and once-friend of Ezyl Grey made his arrival on the isle of Almaris once again, and rushed to the defense of Haense under assault of the Trollkin. He hadn't known of the missive beforehand, and continued to live in ignorance of it. Though he knew that conflict was inevitable.
