  1. MC Name: Shibby_Noggin

    Character's Name: Astrid

Character's Age: 12 when she died.

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable):

             Elf

    Transformed form:

Specter (Astrid is a pre-existing character who has existed for a good while)

    Creator's MC Name:

             N/A

    Creator's RP Name:

             N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Phantoms are the souls of the dead that have been unable to or refuse to pass on. They manifest in the world of the living as ghostly facsimiles of their mortal selves, though composed of ectoplasm instead of flesh. Tormented by the influence of death on their minds, phantoms suffer from a variety of mental illnesses, the severity of which is dependent on their subtype and varies depending on the individual. All phantoms have an aversion to sunlight. The Revenant is a ghost that has newly awakened in the mortal world, and exists in a state of distress and confusion. It has little control over its spectral abilities, which include dematerializing to hide from mortal sight and exerting weak control over the physical world (such as slowly opening doors). The Revenant is cast in shades of gray, and will stay in this phase of undeath for at least one week.

Poltergeists are spirits that have fallen to rage and depression as they are unable to cope with their death. They manifest in shades of black and red, and are more comparable to predators in behavior. Their mental illness is far more extreme, and they are emotionally unstable. Most of their original personality has been lost. Poltergeists can choose to haunt a location, which increases their power within it after they disperse their presence throughout it for an OOC day. These phantoms can shift their appearance to seem horrifying, or transform into animals. Possession is possible, where a Poltergeist can inhabit a mortal, a corpse, or inanimate objects. They can dematerialize much more easily than a Revenant can, and can use minor telekinetic abilities to interact with the physical world. They can also create an aura of negative emotion around them and pull their form closer to the physical world, allowing them limited interaction with objects and people.

Specters are the opposite of Poltergeists. They have accepted their demise, though are still prone to bouts of depression or anxiety. They manifest in hues of white, blue, and yellow, and lack the physical representation of their death that other phantoms bear. They have the same abilities as Poltergeists, though they are used in a much more peaceful way, causing playful mischief at most. Specters can experience a wide range of emotions, though they tend to feel jealousy, wrath, or any violent emotion to a much lesser extent. Instead of haunting a location, a Specter creates a Sanctuary, which enhances their abilities but doesn’t leave the same malicious aura there. They can also possess people and objects, but never to torment a mortal’s mind, and they cannot inhabit corpses. Instead of exuding a negative aura, a Specter can instill peace instead, which creates a comforting and positive aura for those nearby.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Astrid takes the form of a young girl. Her hair, once completely black, has shifted to being pure white. Her skin is flawless porcelain, and it is shaped into ethereal beauty. Most of her is translucent white, though her eyes are shockingly blue. The mark on her throat that used to symbolize her death is entirely gone, and her troubled expression has been replaced by a far more peaceful one.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:

             No

Do you agree to keep Story writers updated on the status of your magic app?:

             Yes

Do you understand that if this creature's lore is undergoing an activity trial and that trial fails, you will no longer be able to play this creature and will be forced to either revert the character back to its normal form (if it was a transformative type) or stop playing the character entirely (if it is an entirely new creature)?:

             Yes

Memey RP or using this CA for subpar villain/bandit RP can lead to your app being denied, even after acceptance. Please put "I understand" as your response once you have read this part and understand the consequences.

             I understand.

Have you applied for this creature on this character before, and had it denied? If so, link the app:

I have, and it was accepted. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/174014-ghostcaanonymous_potato/?tab=comments#comment-1639738

  2. I think banditry should not be PvP-based, because this is an RP server. Instead, it should be an RP interaction, and should usually not result in a character’s death. This would erase all of the develop of the character during the encounter.

    Physical Appearance

    Spoiler

Aelena is only a child at the moment, with a face still rounded with youth and a frame too young to display any definite physical traits. Her locks are long and white as fresh snowfall, and her eyes are lavender in color. Whatever passes down to the rest of the bloodline will be documented here.

    Name: Elise Rose

    Gender: Female

Place of Residence: Hopefully Fenn soon, but currently nowhere

    Race/Subrace/Culture: Dark Dwarf

    Type of Magic: Sensory Illusion

Why do you want to use magic within the Princedom?: I seek to further my studies of Sensory Illusion and defend myself with it if necessary. I’m also a magician, and occasionally I’ll use my illusions to make my tricks more awe-inspiring. Lastly, it just feels right to openly admit to magic and gain a permit, as I plan on staying in Fenn for a while.

    Character's Name: Elise Rose

    Character's Age: 37

    Character's Race: Dark Dwarf

    Link to your accepted MA:

What magic(s) will you be teaching?: Sensory Illusion

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

Sensory Illusion is the art of manipulating the minds of others to experience objects or even feelings that aren't truly there. They draw Figments, Glamours, and Phantasms from the void to deceive people. Illusionists can do anything within the realms of plausibility. For example, an illusionist could conjure an illusionary dagger with which to stab someone and cause them great pain, however they could not make them seemingly teleport off the edge of a cliff from their seat in a tavern.

Glamours are one form of Sensory Illusion which causes an already existing object to seem like something else. An example of this would be making a lemon look like an apple, or making illusionary graffiti on a wall. This is generally the least taxing form of Sensory Illusion. The illusions must be reasonable and seen before. If I wanted to make my eyes appear blue instead of brown, that would make sense as it has been seen before in other people and blue eyes are a thing that exist.

If Glamours and Figments (see below) are a direct assault on the senses, Phantasms are mere subtle ripples upon the pond of one's subconscious. These, like all illusions, must be based in reality. Sudden feelings of anger for no apparent reason do not make sense, and thus the mind will easily brush them aside. You're not forcing the person to experience a certain emotion, but suggesting it. This is not the same as abruptly forcing someone to go into a mindless rage or placating an aggressive person with magic.

Figments are illusionary objects drawn from the void. Returning to the example of the illusionary dagger, you could create a dagger and stab someone with it. This is harder to make realistic, as you'd also have to replicate the pain, the feeling of the dagger slicing through their flesh, and the blood, all whilst making it look like you are holding the hilt. Figments are any object that you create using Sensory Illusion, like a flower or a tankard, that isn't disguising something else.

All illusions can be shattered when they no longer make sense to the subconscious. If you make a solid piece of wood that someone can stick their hand through, their mind will fail to accept it when such an action occurs and the illusion disappears. This is the same with Phantasms, as previously discussed, and glamours if the disguise doesn't seem quite right (for example, if you look like you're 6'5" but you're really 5'2" and someone goes to pat you on the head, only to have their hand fall right through you).

A mage can't cast somewhere they can't see.

A mage know their illusions are fake and can't dull their own pain or make themselves feel incredibly sad.

A mage can only cast things they have experienced.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

"Hey," The mage glances up at her student with a critical, fiery orange gaze. She rises from her position on the ground, crossing her arms across her chest. "Last time I taught you the fundamentals. I assume you can connect to the void?"

"Yes," The student answers, their lips forming a slight, nervous smile as their teacher addresses them.

"Alright, then. Today we will be working on Figments. I want you to replicate this flower." She produces a rose from her bag, beginning to shrivel from the lack of water and soil. She sets it on the table before them. "Connect to the void, and try to sort of draw the rose from your mind, like you're pulling it out of the void and into reality."

The student's brow furrows as they approach the task, hands curling into fists. After a few minutes of concentration, a dim smile forms on their features as a rose appears momentarily beside the real flower.

"Add as many details as you can." Elise instructs, seemingly displeased with her pupil's work.

A few beads of sweat travel down the side of the student's face. The rose comes into greater detail, as if the eye began to focus on it as opposed to it resting in one's peripherals. The student collapses into a nearby chair, staring down at their lap, their breathing ragged. The roses disappears as swiftly as it was drawn into existence, leaving behind only a scowling Elise and a breathless student, as well as the withering rose laid on the table.

"Good enough, I suppose. Rest, and practice more. Contact me whenever you're ready for your next lesson. Expect to do this activity again."

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Ghosts are the souls of dead characters left on this mortal plane. There are many different stages of undeath these creatures progress through, having to do with how they've come to terms with their death or if they haven't at all. The first stage is a Haunt, who are black and white ghosts with blank eyes who aren't aware of their predicament. They continue with their daily life as if nothing at all had happened until some merciful mortal shatters the illusion. They may not use any of their powers, as they are not aware that they are ghosts. Once said merciful descendant has shaken the ghost from their delusional state with undeniable evidence, they move on to the next stage.

Revenants are spirits who have realized their demise. They develop pupils and arises, and can tap into the well of spectral powers awaiting them. However, these abilities can take years to get a grip of, and often newly awoken Revenants will still react to things as if they can interact with the physical world, though they cannot. The wiki makes a point of stating that Haunts may not awaken themselves, so I shall, as well. Ghosts may not awaken themselves and must be presented with evidence that they cannot work into their delusions with a "logical" explanation.

Now the spirit has sat in their feelings for a while. The most bitter, resentful, and enraged ghosts will become poltergeists. These spirits are hostile and aggressive, taking swipes at the common passerby and being real pests. They often destroy property, use their horror chill abilities, and generally rain on everyone's parade. These creatures should not be taken lightly, and are identifiable by their ashen appearances, strong red hue, and black pits as eyes.

The benevolent counter to the Poltergeist is the Spectre. These creatures aren't hostile and have comes to terms peacefully with their demise, and showcase blue colors instead of nasty red. Often times, these ghosts will seek out the assistance of mortals if they wish to pass on to the afterlife. It is stated that not all ghosts fit in either category, and they're still individuals with values, personalities, flaws, and ideals. Every ghost retains these aspects of them even after death, so it's not necessary to completely remake the character design to fit either type of spirit.

All types of ghosts are negatively affected by bright light, holy magic, and aurum, as most undead are. All can be exorcised by shamans, clerics, or other holy mages if desired, though it often not worth the effort.

Ghosts can have a plethora of different powers. These include: telekinesis (only up to what a T3 mage could accomplish), Horror Chill, possession, invisibility, appearance-changing, and other ghostly features. Some slam doors, throw stones, screech and wail, and do other things of similar variety.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A ghost is a copy of a dead soul that has not passed on to the spiritual world. A Haunt is the first stage of the death cycle of a ghost. These Haunts are colorless, and have no irises or pupils. They are in a dream-like state, as death is a traumatizing thing, and they believe they are alive still. They can look quite gruesome, and can display the injury that caused their death. Haunts can be brought back to reality by being given undeniable proof of their death (ex. their own dead body, their grave, proof they cannot interact with the physical world). Haunts may not awaken (move themselves from Haunt to Revenant) themselves.

Revenants are the next stage. They have pupils and irises, and are aware that they are dead. This is when they begin to develop ghostly powers, such as being able to turn visible and invisible at will, change their appearance, put out torches, make minor changes to the physical world, and make shrieking sounds.

Spectres are benevolent, or at least neutral ghosts that have accepted their death with grace. These ghosts usually take on a shade of luminescent blue. They don't seek to harm anyone, and sometimes are looking for ways to pass on to the next life. They have mastered their abilities to appear to hover, disguise themselves, etc. but usually will not use these powers to harm anyone.

Poltergeists are malevolent, hate-consumed ghosts. Poltergeists are usually results of a ghost stewing in their own anger, disbelief, and grief for many years. "[These ghosts] can be identified by their strong red color, ashy appearances, or completely black eyes." (Quote from the Lord of the Craft Wiki). Poltergeists can force their will onto physical objects and people. Often they will throw things, destroy things, scratch or claw at people, and make terrifying noises.

Ghosts have many weakness. First I'd like to recite the red lines of the ghost into this post to assure you that I have read them thoroughly and remembered them: Players must respect the lore, ghosts can only perform ghost magic, your skin must resemble a ghost, if a ghost acts like a mortal he/she will eventually lose their ghostly powers, though ghosts may appear to hover, they can not fly, they may not cross gold dust barriers, ghosts can be new characters or ones previously perma-killed, a ghost cannot come back to life, a ghost cannot possess a living being, ghosts are vulnerable to Fi' magic, Alteration, Shamanism, gold weaponry, and enchanted weaponry.

Ghosts are weak to exorcisms (they get rid of them...), gold, magegold or light, holy magic (such as Xan or Tahariae war-clerics and paladins), Alteration, Shamanism, gold weaponry, and enchanted weaponry (as stated above).

    Creator's MC Name: N/A.

    Creator's RP Name: N/A.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A Dryad is a female Wood Elf who has bonded to a tree.

Every Wood Elven feels the call of Dryad-ism. It's part of their natural life cycle. If they seek out their tree, then a process begins called "The Blossoming."

    The Blossoming

The Blossoming begins when a Wood Elven woman finds her tree. This could take a long time, or it might be in a nearby forest. Her instinct will guide her. Once she finds her tree, she will instantly know. The Official Dryad Thread describes it as, "love at first sight." She will stare at her tree for a long time, completely mesmerized. She may chat with it, embrace it, sleep near it, set up camp near it, etc. It takes two months (two Elven days) for the bond to be forged. The Dryad will feel strongly emotional, at peace, or try to aggressively protect her tree. She will begin to change physically. She'll take on a more, as the thread states, "plant-like, her skin taking on a far more stem-like or bark-like texture and appearance akin to the type of tree the dryad bonds with, and her hair becoming far more leaf like." The woman can still sever the forming bond, however.

    The Bond

A Dryad may feel the roots below her feet, or a breeze rustling her tree's leaves. The bond between a Dryad and her tree is so strong, that the tree always comes first. The Dryad must sleep near the tree, or her rest will be rather useless. She must regularly visit the tree, or she will die. She can travel as far away from her tree as she wants, but her sleep will worsen, and she'll worry about the tree.  This bond stays strong until the Elf dies, or the tree does, which is a perfect segue into the next section.

The Amber Seed is a small, fist-sized object, which (if planted in the ground in the correct biome), grows the tree exactly how it was before its demise. This can only happen once, but in certain circumstances (map change, a woodcutter chops down 30 trees and yours just happens to be one of them) it can happen as a 'freebie', as the Thread calls it.

Bonzai Dryads can happen when a child becomes a Dryad. They can prune and trim their tree's roots so that it doesn't grow. That would make them a child for as long as they wish. When they let the tree grow, they will grow.
