Definitions

What is roleplaying?: Pretending to be a fictional character that you are not. This can be done on several platforms other than minecraft though a popular platform is in fact minecraft. It includes making a character to your own will in a set universe that is unique. There are usually set races and each has their pros and cons. Any age can roleplay but to younger audiences it is usually just "Play pretend".

What is metagaming?: Using OOC information IC. Such as a friend messaging you on Skype that they're getting tortured and telling you where they are and you go and save them ICly despite your character A) Never knowing your friends character and B) Not knowing where they were.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is when you don't attempt/try in an emote or otherwise. This can also be applied to making your character have strengths that aren't possible for their race/age.

In-Character Information

Character’s name: Syl'rieff Kiaynan

Character’s sex: Male, though appears heavily female.

Character’s race: Dark elf.

Character’s age: 125.

Biography: Syl'rieff Kiaynan was born in the year 1458 alongside his fraternal twin, Syl'raell Kiaynan. Their parents named them similarly due to them being twins. This was barely a year after the escape into the Fringe. His life was pretty average, with an average income of money. At the age of thirteen, he began training using swords with his sister. He never really got the hang of the feeling of swinging it, and so he would continue to try give up, getting more and more frustrated as time went on. At this stage, the escape from the Fringe into the Thales happened.

As Syl'rieff grew up, his temper only got shorter, even with the continued support of his parents. At the age of twenty, he gave up on swords to begin his practise towards being an artist. The escape from Thales into Athera also happened in this timeframe. With a lot of practise and encouragement, Syl' got better at his dreams yet not any better at socialising. For years and years he drew and painted, straining the money of the small family greatly, though also making some amount of income. At the age of 30, he moved out into the world to begin his own story.

Travelling and selling his artwork was hard to live off of but it was his dream in life. As the year of 1513 came up, yet another event happened- this time they were escaping from Athera into Vailor. Syl'rieff began to take life a lot less seriously at this point and began to rest and eat more often, socialising less. He got more cold and abrasive to outsiders and began feeling homesick, frightened for Syl'raell's health. Years and decades passed until his calming life was once more ripped away by the escape from Vailor to Axios. Even more anxious for his twins health than ever, Syl'rieff begins a new journey.

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Syl'rieff commonly acts as a if he was a fiery teenager despite those years having long past. He can commonly be found drumming his fingers or humming, or even worse, tapping his feet. His temper is a trigger-fire which is easy to set off. Once set off, he won't usually hurt anyone but probably verbally insult them. Another problem of his is eating too much, in which he'll go on sprees of binge eating whatever he can find which will obviously cost him a lot. Another strange thing ab out Syl' is that he will commonly come off as cold and abrasive to those who don't know him, though softens up very quickly.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Syl' aspires to be a well known artist, funnily enough.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Syl'rieff seems to have an almost natural talent at art, stemming from years of practise in his art. Other than that, he is brilliant at trying to make compromises unless somebody triggers him.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Syl' has a terrible temper with the shortest fuse possible. Even the smallest smirk at him can set him off, and it takes quite a lot to calm him down.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) The Dark Elf stands at a scarily small height for a Dark Elf, being only 6'. His skin is generally scar free and is a light grey. He keeps his hair in a ponytail going down his back with curtains for his fringe. His hair is a natural pale blue, like his eyes which are a darker blue. Syl' weighs exactly 152 lbs (apologies if this is inaccurate, I'm bad with weights) and his muscles are surprisingly well-defined, even for him appearing to be female.
