Character’s name: Costin
Character’s sex: Male
Character’s race: Human
Character’s age: 23
Biography: Costin Eshan Hawkrider was born in Valior, specifically in the city of Fi'Ceru to a battle-loving human, who looked like a Heartlander, and a mother who, like his father, was a Heartlander, though the profession she came from was unknown. From the young age of four, Costin was expected to be a warrior. He was pressured by his father, and while Costin was forced and took this path, he had always abhorred it. Yet, everyone had to make a living one way. Despite his teachings though, the man was rather strict, forcing Costin to be a warrior, and devoting all of his time onto that one task. Yet, what truly made Costin make his decision to run from his father was when the man had beaten his wife in one of his many drunken fits, and cut Costin's jaw deeply, leaving a scar which still remains to him to this day Though, this plan was molded into shape, as the descendent races in Valior moved to Axios, where Costin made his escape from his father in the city of Johanneseburg, capital of the Holy Orenian Empire. Thus, after running away, Costin met Darion Graves, after two years of living on the streets, fetching coin where he could, and thieving for his desperate survival.
Graves found Costin in one of the many alleys, starved half to death. Though, while Graves hadn't been a newcomer to this kind of lifestyle, he saw something interesting in the child, as he felt his pockets being picked at the last moment. He had grasped Costin by the wrist, almost breaking the young boys wrist, before lightly letting go, seeing something inside of the boy to compel him to take him in. Darion was a rather interesting man to Costin. While he too emphasized that Costin must learn to battle, fight for those he loved, he also emphasized that he should be a man of intelligence, and encouraged him to pursue his talents in writing, and also taught the young boy equivalent exchange, and the process of alchemy. He had taught Costin this for six years, and upon the boys eighteenth year, he encouraged him to move out and to make his own impact on the world, to learn about the world for what it was.
Thus, Costin had eventually walked off. For now, one couldn't exactly track him down, at least, from Graves, as the man has traveled more then a bit. This mercenary for hire, with skills which could suit many missions, roams the streets and many cities, as well as the wilderness, in search for answers, and occasionally, writes his dear friend and father-figure Graves to update the old man on his status.
Personality Traits:
Personality: Costin is a confident yet humble man. He understands that, while he is indeed a skilled fighter, he isn't the best. Though, while Costin can be seen as a rather shallow man to his enemies, his close friends know that the man truly cares for almost everyone around him. Despite this, he seems to always keep his distance from really getting to know people, and usually only speaks to most people as 'friends', and unbeknownst to them, with a lack of a trusting aspect on his part. Costin usually puts on 'layers' of sorts to
Ambitions: To find his place in this world, to be 'immortal' through writing, to learn, or to find a lifestyle which suits him.
Strengths/Talents:
Dueling Expert: Due to rigorous training in the arts of deceit and combat, Costin has learned to blend a form of a deadly martial art into his rather crude style of fighting.
Stealth Adept: From living in the streets for so long, Costin has learned to find his ways through the shadows, and surprise his enemies.
Use of Poison: Costin usually purchases ingredients to make poisons, or out right buys the poisons, so that he may eliminate someone discreetly.
Weaknesses/Inabilities:
Brutally Honest: If Costin has something to say, he'll say it. It doesn't matter what your position is; Be it a noble, a king, or a loved one, Costin will not hesitate to share his opinion, which, more times then not, gets him into trouble.
Scarred: There are few things which truly get to Costin's head, but when they do, they set him off into a paralyzed state. With his horrid background, Costin can be unpredictable at best when it's brought up.
Lack of Trust: Costin doesn't truly trust anyone, and usually can only trust at most four people at a time. This always has Costin being paranoid of others around him, and while he hides it rather well, it can get the better of him.
Appearance: Costin is a man with the height of 6'2, and carries with him a small scar on his lower lip. He has sea blue eyes which seem to be constantly calculative. Costin also seems to have jet black hair, and while he is lightly toned, the man isn't so much so, and instead, the man is rather flexible.
