Gemma was born in 1588 in a small home in the forest just past the the hill to the north of Aleksandria. She was born to a humble and pious set of parents, Aurelia and Chrisostom. Ever since she was a child, Gemma was greatly loved by her parents for her personality, and they had chosen her name correctly; she was their gem. From a young age, she was extremely mature, and she excelled in her learnings, yet she did not enjoy learning. What she enjoyed was pleasing her father, for she loved her parents very dearly. Her parents, traditional Canonists, taught her about God, and her first words were 'Creator', along with 'Oren'. Although she did love God from a young age, she did not know about him very well. She just knew that she loved him more than anything, and that she wanted with all her soul to become a saint. Gemma, along with her father, often traveled into Aleksandria as a child, although she did not enjoy it. When she went, people looked strangely at her, and it made her feel uncomfortable. She did not understand that people did not know who she was, and she did not understand why one should be suspicious of strangers. Furthermore, she was an interesting looking girl. She had black hair, fair skin, pale and blue eyes, and she always wore a simple black robe covered in a mantle. Gemma also did not like all the chatter of the city. She was a quiet girl, and only spoke on three occasions; when spoken to, when speaking to God, or when speaking about godly things.

At the age of 14, Gemma's father, Chrisostom, passed away of a severe case of Tuberculosis. Devastated, along with the provider of the family gone, Gemma and her mother frequented the city to beg for alms. It is there that Gemma learned what it meant to be a saint. She had to see God in all souls, because if she were to see God in all souls, she would perhaps never commit a fault. It was at this point that Gemma decided she wanted to become a nun, and that she would commit her entire being to the Creator. She began to frequent to Cathedral in Aleksandria, and she soon hopes to be baptized and welcomed into the Lotharic Communion.

Insightful- Gemma can very easily see through dishonesty and disingenuous motives, and she can see how people and events are connected.

Inspiring- Gemma speaks in a fluid and inspiring style, speaking with warmth and passion.

Altruistic- Gemma is a very benevolent person, and she only wants to see the good in people.

Sensitive- Gemma is highly vulnerable to criticism and conflict.

Utterly Private- Gemma is very quiet and private, and it is very hard for her to open up, even to close friends.

Gemma aspires to become a nun, and to possibly one day become a saint. She also wants everyone she knows to have a burning passion for God within them.

Although shy, Gemma is very good at speaking and writing, and is an intellectual. She tends to be very persuasive and inspiring.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?)

Gemma tends to be socially awkward in some situations. She needs to work on her social skills.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?)

Gemma is 5'19, with a skinny build, and very pale and fair skin. She has straight black hair, usually tied behind her head, and pale blue eyes. Her lips are pale, and are always presented in a content manner. She always wears dark and simple clothing as to not provoke attention and attain humility, wearing a black robe, covered in a dark gray mantle. The only parts ever uncovered of her are her neck up, and her hands.
