What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is essentially improptu group acting where the only limiting factor is the lore.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using knowledge in game that you know out of character but not in character to your benefit.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power gaming is roleplaying in a way that gives you an unfair advantage, mainly from the grammar of your emote; for example, "Joshua parries the strike and then stabs his opponent through the heart." as opposed to "Joshua parries the strike and then tries to send his rapier through his opponents heart."

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): 

     Joshua was born during the Orenian civil war when lorraine and courland with the help of the dwarves jointly defeated the Holy Orenian Empire, ending their reign of tyrrany over their lands. His father was an Orenian traitor and his mother was a Courlandic seamstress. The war effort is what brought these two together to result in the beautiful creation of life that is Joshua. He has lived in Courland ever since being raised by both parents until the age of 15 when he enlisted into the army as a result of an unstable global political climate.

     Joshua has left Courland one time and that was on a messenger mission where he served as a guard to an envoy from Courland to Lorraine. The envoy was attacked by a Norlandic ambush party. Joshua fought to the standard Courland sets for their soldiers and succesfully defended the envoy through the leadership and teamwork of the guards that went with him; however, when the mission concluded and Joshua made it home, he discovered that his father had passed away. He had been sick from wounds sustained in the war effort during his birth. He now is caring for his mother and sister. This revelation has changed his ambitions from that of ambition to that of success, success so that he can take care of his infant sister and aging mother.

Personality Traits: Joshua enjoys living life with his friends. He constantly makes sarcastic quips at them and himself. He laughs at what's funny and makes fun of other's failed jokes. He does not like to spend time around people who are too serious.

Ambitions: Joshua secretly wants to become an ascended however his only vocal ambition is to become a feared street boss with more power than the king.

Strengths/Talents: Joshua grew up with drive. He has a talent for getting out of trouble because of this; however, he couldn't always remove himself from harms way so he had to learn to fight and become strong.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Joshua is not fitting amongst polite company, this gets in the way of his success sometimes as politics do not always favor him.

Appearance: Joshua has a scraggly beard which is the same color as his hair: brown. He is a built human about 5'7" and weighing in at 180. Light blue eyes and common clothes.
