         Fire Evocation

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Fire evocation, like all evocations draws from the void. It's amongst the most easily destructive evocations, very capable of combat at nearly any range and potency. While largely combative, there are a few select utility spells.

Unlike other evocations, voidal fire can spark uncontrollable, real flames if it comes into contact with a flammable surface for long enough. As stated, the pyromancer cannot simply will these flames away, as they stop being voidal at this point. When used in combat, an evocationist can choose to either create fireballs, walls of flame, or even the iconic flamethrower. Any of these can easily cause horrifying burns when used appropriately.

While cooking enemies can be reason enough to learn fire evocation, there's more that may draw one to pick it up. Even a novitiate pyromancer can learn to cauterize wounds or even create a spark to light campfires or really anything that needs ignition.

Voidal pyromancy, like all evocations, demands a connection to the void, a supply of mana, a deep understanding of fire and most importantly, the imagination to give shape to, and pull that fire out of the void. Any student would need to first spend time learning to both connect and study fire itself before they can ever consider summoning even a candlelight. Study can include both book research and even more... hands-on lessons

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Combustion: A tier 5 enhancement that can be placed upon any base fire evocation spell. When applied, the fire acquires a concussive force upon contact that will knock anyone and anything back. It requires one additional emote and another tier of mana cost. (Unless it's applied to a tier 5 spell)

Blue Fire: This enhancement upon the typical spells will turn the typically red and orange flames blue. Blue flames are twice as hot and as such, twice as potent and draining as normal fire. Burns applied by normal fire amplify when the same spell is used with blue fire. A second degree burn would instead be a third degree, for instance.

Smoke: Like fire, a pyromancer can utilize smoke just as easily. Typically used to create smokescreens and otherwise obscure vision. This smoke can cause eye irritation but doesn't do much beyond that aside from a minor coughing.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

La'io would extend his arm, his yellow aura flaring to life as rings encircling his forearm as he'd connect. The cuffs would
flow to his hand and finally coalesce around his fingers.

With a snap, the rings would burst into a flame resting about two inches from his palm, forming the shape of a ball no larger than chalice. 
The elf then focused upon the straw dummy ahead of him.

The ball would expand and contract gently, as if breathing. Finally, it would settle at the size of a wine bottle. La'io's eyes trained upon
the hay-bound head.

With a delightful pop, the fireball would be released and directed toward the target, leaving a trail of cinders in it's wake before making
contact with an eager crack! The force just about splintering the wood supporting the scarecrow. The flames utterly engulfing the dry grain.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

La'io would greet his student with a polite bow. "Morning, Alexander. Today we'll be covering the flamethrower spell." The instructor would explain. 
He'd turn on his heels, facing the west, looking upon a small boulder about eight feet away.
"Connect." He would direct.

Alexander nodded in response and, with a measure more difficulty, summoned up his baby-blue aura, the clouds of azure flittering their way to his hands.
His attention divided between magic and the magician instructor.

"Mar'ayla! Now, form it into small orb, or any shape, really. This will be a particularly taxing spell. Keep your focus on the boulder." The elf would point toward the gray stone to the west.

The human would give a brazen smile to his teacher, forming a small fiery cobra above his palms, having it curl idly as it awaited further tutelage.

The former Prince, satisfied with his student's mastery over even simple pyromancy would continue, "Good. Now concentrate! Let that flame fester. You need to remain vigilant of your target."

Beads of sweat would begin to roll down the side of the human's face, displaying the mental exhaustion already taking it's toll. The serpent would begin to glow brighter, the coiled body becoming more active, it swirled and hissed, training it's fiery eyes upon the boulder--it's prey.

The practiced pyromancer would circle his student around his back, pointing again toward the boulder. He'd lean over Alex's shoulder. "Now, I want you to force out a steady stream of flames as long as you can. Hit the boulder, if you can."

Alex, now drawing in increasingly taxed breaths, would square his shoulders before unleashing the cobra's 'venom' as a jet of fire out toward the boulder. A steady stream reaching from student to target.
The flamethrower sustaining for a matter of three seconds before the sheer mental exhaustion forces Alexander to disconnect and collapse to his knees, utterly spent.

The elf would give Alexander a fatherly clap on the back, a proud smile growing on his lips. "Wonderfully executed!" He'd praise, offering the exhausted youth a glass of water.


 

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

Depends on the severity of the mistake. If it was a very minor mistake, I'd try to simply correct it with the student and, if need be, help work out any issues with anyone impacted by the mistake.

If it's a more dire mistake, I'd probably let staff know and move forward from there with their help.

The Prince of Peacocks would shake his head, unable to accept the fact that his 'ker daughter would never return home. A stinging sensation bit ceaselessly at his eyes. "No, no... They'll be back!" The prince would cry, memories of warmer suns with a nearly-mute child, caring for them. "She needs to be okay!" The rest of the night was fraught with plenty of denial and wine.

Aearion would fill the bowl of his pipe silently. His thumb tracing the intricately carved sloth embellished into the shank. He reclined in the hammock, watching the leaves rustle and dance overhead. His mind racing with pained thoughts that he'd inevitably suffocate with the pacifying herbs.

"Miss you already."

The young elf would light the green, putting stem to lips and inhaling the aromatic flavor. His thoughts gradually coming to a peaceful respite for the moment.

Favorite character you've made thusfar?

The prince sat in his quarters as he reread the banishment. After several minutes, he set it down with a deep, saddened sigh.
"It had to be done... To preserve the peace in Vaelya."
He concluded. He folded the writ and stowed it away in his desk.

The prince would seat himself in his palatial room and quill out his letter beside his toxic plants.

"I would love to receive a hot human girlfriend new harp.

He then looked through the other notes, taking Kallian's request for a new book or writing implements.
