    Definitions:

What is role playing?: Roleplaying is the art of assuming a fictional persona and accurately fulfilling the role of this persona in a game. In minecraft’s case, I tend to view roleplay as if you're actively writing a script for a grand play along with other writers, each assigned to their own character.

What is meta-gaming?: Meta-gaming is the act of using information that would be otherwise inaccessible to your character within roleplay. An example would be knowing another character’s name before ever having spoken to them or heard of them before.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power-Emoting is the act of forcing another character to take an action without them having given consent or it being logical for them to do so, often by portraying your own character as far more superior than theirs. A prime example would emoting a character’s murder without giving them a chance to react.

    Character Sheet:

    Character’s Name: Madelif Pendriades

    Character’s Sex: Male

    Character’s Race: Human (Heartlander)

    Character’s Age: 20

Biography: Madelif was born to a wealthy family in the settlement of Chambery, situated within the Holy Orenian Empire. He was brought up alongside his younger brother, Liander as well as an older sister named Stalia. He and his siblings were taught writing, reading and other basic forms of education by a tutor that often visited their beautiful home. Strangely enough, Madelif’s upbringing was agnostic, his parents not wishing to trouble their children with silly religious beliefs, instead hoping for them to focus on their studies so that they made lead a prosperous lifestyle, as was becoming of a child of the wealthy Pendriades family.

As Madelif matured, it became apparent that his talents lay not with physical activities, but rather with metal ones. He was able to rather easily study long pieces of text rather than coordinate how to catch a ball, something the poor eyesight he was born with did certainly not aid him in. Long stories interested him and his mother as well as his tutor often read him stories, which he often memorized over time. He took a particular interest in religious stories, though as mentioned before, this was not something that was appreciated by his guardians.

However, even keeping them away from public educational institutions could not shield the young Madelif from the Empire’s will to bind its residents to the country’s religion, as the various storybooks their tutor brought along depicted wonderful stories and imagery of mythical beings known as the Aenguls, beautiful creatures that fascinated the young boy greatly. Soon, he pleaded his instructor to bring along religious tomes and the like, to his parents’ great distaste, though they believed he had already immersed himself too deeply in The Church of The Canon, and thus they allowed him to research freely, with the conditions he paid mind to his studies, and so he did, quite relieving his parents.

At the time Madelif reached young-adolescence, he had already rounded off his basic studies, now visiting various libraries on multiple occasions a week and seeking guidance from local priests as he hoped to pursue a profession within the church. A faithful journey to the grand library of Dragur changed his mind, however, as it was there he encountered a very peculiar novel, written by a great adventurer. This man claimed to have feasted upon the sight of an Aengul with his own eyes; something the young Madelif had thought to be impossible and from this point forward, he set his sights on a different goal.

While continuing to pursue his hobby of researching the divine and holy, the boy now began to study to become a scribe, hoping that the travels this new profession brought with it would someday lead him to observe the sight he had always dreamt of; a living, breathing Aengul. As soon as he had finished his studies, the now young man departed on a quest that would establish a new chapter within his life.

Saying goodbye only to his family and their dog, he brought along only the clothes he wore a pair of reading glasses, a splendid cane and of course enough books so that his travels would never be dull, always accompanied by the spirits of the stoties he had read.

Personality Traits: Madelif is a free-willed, well educated young man with his head in the clouds, always thinking up potential fantastical stories or remembering those he had already read, thus causing him to be quite absent minded. He can spark up an interesting if he deems an individual to be worth his time, though he is often rather stubborn on religious matters. He enjoys discussing his stories with those he encounters and will take up a job revolving around writing, especially in a creative manner, in the blink of an eye. Though he is free-willed, is was rather well raised and always bears his formalities in mind. His eyesight is not very great and he does not take kindly to those who insult it. He takes pride in all of his academic work.

Ambitions: Though Madelif enjoys writing entertaining stories and would love to see these spread around, his main ambition is to encounter and perhaps interact with an Aengul. Though he knows he will probably die before realizing this fate, his burning passion for his goal is enough to overcome any doubts he may be swarmed by.

    Strengths/Talents:

~Intelligence: Madelif is an intellectual young man who followed a good education, able to speak mutiple tongues and solve equations that would seem difficult to most commonfolk, though his heart lies in writing.

~Independence: Madelif prepared himself well for his quest, and is thus able to do multiple useful things such as cook and fashion a tent out of nearby foliage if push comes to shove.

~Bargaining: Madelif has a good sense of self-confidence and a way with words, which allows him to bargain rather succesfully.

    Weaknesses/Inabilities:

~Combat: Like a normal citizen, Madelif has almost no combat capabilities, perhaps able to only place a weak thief into a chokehold if he were to ever be so lucky.

~Passion: Though Madelif is usually a rather level-headed individual, when faced with what he desires most, meeting an Aengul, he will do almost see this scenario realized.

~Sight: Madelif was born with poor eyesight, often wearing visual accessories to aid him in working effeciently and correctly.

    Appearance:

In appearance, Madelif is rather tall and skinning, barely showing any signs of muscular growth. He has choppy brown hair and often wears clothing of good quality. He also possesses intelligent light brown eyes and pale white skin. There is no place he can be seen without his bible or a religious pendant.

    Skin: See attached file.

*Edit notes: I'm terribly sorry for omitting such a large part of the application! I was quite tired when making the application and must've skimmed over it. I’m very grateful for the second chance I was given and once again sorry for any inconveniences I may have caused you.
