The Durrathin were originally an offshoot of Clan Treebeard. Their founder, Wolfgar Durrathin, was a son of Glorin Treebeard who renounced the peaceful, tree-hugging ways of his brethren, and sought to carve out a legacy for himself through bloodshed. He adopted the Black Hourglass on a Purple Field as his sigil, to represent that even dwed were mortal, and that it was only a matter of fate when your time would run out. This warlike, fatalistic philosophy was rejected and spurned by the other Forest Dwed, causing Wolfgar to leave the Treebeards with his supporters and immediate family. Under the leadership of their Clanfather Artos Durrathin, they moved to the forests outside the Silver City of Haelun'or, hoping to live off of the wealth of the High Elves. However, one day their raids became too many, and too close to the Silver City. The High Elves sent out a massive army, crushing the Durrathin utterly and razing their homes to the ground. Few Durrathin survived the battle, one of whom was an infant child who was taken pity on by a high elf noble. This boy would later become the Clanfather of the Durrathin, and perhaps lead the remnants of his Clan to greatness...
