Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:
Hello there! So, I was told originally that this was meant to be like a biography of how Thornn came to be a ghost. Which, I came to find out isn’t the case. But, I left the biography anyways in case you are curious.
Brief explanation.
SpoilerThere are different stages of being a ‘Ghost’, the first stage being ‘Haunt’. As a ‘Haunt’ you are not quite aware that you are dead and try to continue on with your normal life until something factual and concrete snaps you out of your disillusion and you are forced to realize you’re dead. Once you come to realize you’re dead you shift over to a level 2, which is referred to as a ‘Revenant’ Revenant’s eyes become just about normal while the ‘Haunt’ is a bland reflection not going into enough detail for even eyes. As a ‘Revenant’ you are aware as your status as a ghost and can start to develope an array of Ghostly powers. Taking on invisibility or visibility, appearing to float, and things of this nature. A new ‘Revenant’ will not have these abilities and must develope them with time. The next stage that comes for my case is the ‘Spectre’. The ‘Spectre’ being the calm and levelheaded path for a level 3 ghost. At this point the ghost is pretty decent at controlling their powers and have come to complete terms with their death. Either searching for a way to make it to the afterlife or continue existence as a ‘Spectre’.
Bio.
SpoilerThornn Mauntel was a loyal servant and figure of the Curon duchy acting as their Grand Ambassador. After stepping down from his position he chose to carry out one final mission to try and higher his legacy. With this mission though the man went missing, unknown to those within Curon, the man died. Being attacked on the roads he was brought to a violent death, that being having been torn apart by rabid dogs while strapped down. After such event Thornn passed away and was not brought back in any manner other than as a Haunt. The man’s life continued to him as business usual. Every morning he would wake up to see his wife before heading off for the Embassy. The Mauntel would do the busy paperwork he always did before sitting in on the council meeting that he usually didn’t comment on, only taking notes. This process continued for a month before his successor began to do paperwork at his desk and sit in on the council meetings where he should have. Seeing the man be replaced brought him to the realization that he lacked a connection with the world around him. He felt something had been the matter these past months but could not figure out what it was until he read in a news article about his death. With all of these things coming together Thornn became aware of his death and went on to be a Revenant, or spirit. Thornn, always being a level headed and calmed individual took his acceptance of death better than one may expect. With this said, he was still torn up about the realization, the thought of never being with his wife or friends again shredding his heart and tearing away at his emotions. Though, he did what he always did when upset and worked to think of the pros of the situation. Thornn in his eyes was given nearly another chance, being stuck between life and the afterlife as a spirit. Over the years he came to understand what he was and properly accepted it, coming to then be known as a Spectre. Thornn ‘the Spectre’ Mauntel now haunts the countryside of Curonia, avoiding the big city but not wanting it out of his sight as he continues his existence. Playing the harmless prank or accompanying the stray person on a walk, even if they do not realize he is present on it. Having been confident in life Thornn is less timid than one may expect from a Spectre, though, he still prefers to not show himself or interact with large groups of people. Now, twenty years after death Thornn continues to ‘haunt’ the lands around the city, focusing on the outer farm lands and houses, having the occasional interaction with the senile old man who will not remember him or acknowledge he’s truly there.

Benjamin tidied up his room after his company left. Looking over the letter he grew bored, taking a quick nap before he continued to read. " Begging on our part? Nae. Suggestin' these lads be smart? Aye. Don't know why we thought that possible." He remarked to those in the bunkhouse, continuing along. " They're sayin' His Imperial Majesty made his people weak? Right shite they're spoutin'." By the time he started his second comment he was already in the streets of Curon, letting whatever citizen or visitor hear him. He continued. "Nae 'vicious warmongerers'? Ye' said ye'd pay for our heads then tried to raid the damn capital fer a near elderly citizen of Curon." Benjamin reached the gates of Curon. Climbing up on the wall as he practically announced his final message, for all those inside and those near to hear. " These Adrians do all they can ta shame us and act bigger! When they're sendin' rogue attacks, and tryin' to rough up our elderly and retired folk! They say they're actin' for GOD, but would GOD want our elderly bein' beat on? Would GOD want war for a reason the Adrians couldn't even come up with in court? All this is pointless, aye, pointless! Those Adrians will say any nonsense just to show their *****. Now I'm gettin' a drink!"

The Navy of Curonia
Becoming its own entity apart from the Order of Ursus in the First Seed, 1700, led by Ser Benjamin "The Mariner" of House Fernández, Knight of the Order of Ursus and now Fleet Admiral of the Curonia navy, has the purpose of protecting the Confederation of Curonia from amphibious threats and attacks.
The navy specializes in ship to ship combat, boarding tactics, securing Curonic waterways, and siege defenses.
The Navy of Curonia’s primary focus is militaristic seeing as they are the Kingdom’s line of defense from aquatic assailants. These men and women put their lives on the line day and night to ensure the Curonian citizens are put at ease and are unafraid of attack. The seamen take a stand against all those that oppose the great lands that Curonia maintains, capable of executing attacks and full on assaults when such acts are declared needed.
The Navy of Curonia accepts men and women alike, experience or not, the Navy will train you the same and get you to a standard of quality at the least.
Secondary responsibilities and goals of the Navy of Curonia is that of a scholarly pursuit. For those that do not wish to pursue a militaristic path but still wish to take part in the Navy of Curonia this field could be for you. The scholarly division of the Navy focusing around marine biology and oceanology. Research and exploration missions being sanctioned and funded by the Navy of Curonia should they seem rewarding.
The Navy of Curonia is open to all. Those of militaristic prowess or academic pursuit, both are welcome within the Navy.
