Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:
The Daemon Metzli attempted to create her own race. Her first attempt at this was upon a group of capable primates in the jungles of Asul. She granted Hou-Shen (The monkey king) wisdom, and he in turn showed his brethren how to become sentient; thus giving birth to the Hou-Zi race.
Hou-Shen guided his people through the building of their stone temples and taught them of the wisdom he had been given by Metzli. By the 50th year they had built their capital, Jing-Taiyun.
The Hou-Zi developed a society with Hou-Shen at the top. Second to him were his sons, Hou-Da, Hou-Xiao,and Hou-Wang; originators of the Hei-Zhu, Fei-Zhu, and Laboai-Zhu subraces respectively. Below them ruled the Council of Chi.
Metzli commanded Hou-Shen to expand his empire in her name. The Hou-Zi fought with the elves and were successful in claiming Asul, which allowed them to expand from this point. Their conquest ended after two major defeats and a peace treaty was created between the Hou-Zi and the elves. 100 years later they attempt to restart their conquest but this was stopped due to Hou-Shen's death in the battle of Malinor. The Hou-Zi surrendered and were forced back to the jungles of Asul.
The Hou-Zi seemed to have vanished until Metzli brought back Hou-Shen in a new body. He helped his people rebuild Jing-Taiyun and attempt to grow their empire again. The elves formed an alliance and pushed the Hou-Zi back to Asul. This second war was not without consequence as Hou-Shen's sons had died in the fray.
The next fight was a civil war known as the Jade Wars. Hou-Zi nobles fought each other for wealth, causing Hou-Shen to vanish and never reappear.
Following this the Hou-Zi reverted to their prior ways of surviving within the jungle. They still valued wealth but it was rare to find. The Hou-Zi lived in small and isolated villages.

Shenjiao is a religion based around worshipping Hou-Shen. In paradise there is the hierarchy of Hou-Shen at the top, His sons (who are seen as demi-gods) below, and the Hou-Zi ancestors at the bottom.
Huajiao is a religion of spiritual enlightenment. It is heavily based off of Buddhism. Thus it focuses on the four truths and the eightfold path to enlightenment.
It is common now to fuse the two religions.
The Fei-Zhu:
The Fei-Zhu are the most graceful of the subraces and are typically politicians or artists. They are known to have bright fur colours. The weight of a Fei-Zhu is typically within the 100 to 200 pound range and their height is typically within the 5’5-6’5 range. Their lifespan is between 250-300 years.
