Lyra felt overwhelmed, stepping off the boat into yet another world. Every place she had traveled after leaving her homeland was a new world, each having unique oddities that differed from where she had grown up. She tried to cover up her shock, or was it awe? She gazed at the area around her although she was certain she would not be staying long. The market was beautiful, it was not much different than ones she had seen before but it was only righteous to take in the sight. Even if this place was no different than the last it also had its charm, which should be admired. It took her a few moments to even take note of what the stranger had said, Lyra's dazed expression displayed that clearly, before she nodded. Her nod was short, almost like a bow of the head, so light, delicate and it was furthermore accompanied by a gentle smile.
She spoke in a soft tone, each word clearly uttered, "I come to this city simply see what it offers for myself, I want to live in peace and in comfort. Nothing to do with adventure or danger, just a home. Yes, that is it. I come looking for a home."
Lyra seemed quite proud of herself, holding her blissful smile to her face. She was speaking the truth, that really was all she wanted. She wanted nothing to do with daring adventures or dangerous journeys. All she wanted was a quiet, and hopefully beautiful, home. One that had green curtains or maybe a lovely garden, a place to offer tea to those in need and warmth to those who are cold. It seemed as if everyone thought the idea of settling down, the idea of comfort, was for the weak. She disagreed, though was scared of the backlash, and that is why she was so proud of stating her reasoning for entering the city.
