How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: In roleplay you avoid power gaming by genuinely thinking out realistic feats / responses for your said character. You don't make your character something stupid for example. If my character just started i wouldn't make them the richest as that isn't fair. or if you were fighting someone and were to knock them out immediately that wouldn't be realistic or fair at all. You don't play to win you play to play and enjoy the experience, if your character was killed you cant make up something to say that they werent you have to let things happen realistically. Me personally i avoid powergaming by genuinely thinking whats the most realistic option to do and avoid options that would ruin the realism.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts roleplay as in roleplay you are in a setting where you have to abide by the rules. If I was to say something to someone and say i was streaming and someone from stream started telling everyone what I had said that'd be unfair as they weren't actually there to know that information. Power gaming and meta gaming go hand in hand as in they both make roleplay unfair and unrealistic. This disrupts roleplay by making it not fun and unfair as you wouldn't be able to do anything as anyone could act as if they knew the information however in reality they shouldnt.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

Alex would walk with heavy steps to the closest seat before slouching his body down before taking another glance at the woman. He then let out a sigh before talking in his deep scratchy voice, "Well.. for all I can remember I've been smithin. You see my family were a pair of warrior folk y'know the aggressive kind but I grew to hate fighting but in that hate sparked a new love for armour and weaponry, so my job was to make us weaponry and such with whatever i could." He would then reach into his boot, revealing an iron dagger with engravings on it. He'd stare at it, his eyes widening, "It aint much yet but.. it sure is a beauty!" He let out a chuckle in remembrance to his past before exclaiming, "I was 'gifted' with the hands to bend steel and make the finest weaponry! I was told that at a young age and for all I can remember its all I've been doing." He then paused before finishing off with, "And now I'm off to use my skills elsewhere and of course make a few coins along the way.." He'd then get up, putting the dagger back into his boot, " Enough with all this now.. It was nice to chat ma'am but ive got to get out of here.." He then looked around before realising he'd got so side-tracked in his past that he forgot where he actually is. He let out a sigh before leaving the tent with his usual heavy footsteps and wandered off into the distance.

Alex grew up with a large family, from young all they have been doing is fighting. Alex grew to dislike fighting but to enjoy smithing, ever since he found the passion for blacksmithing he had been making weaponry and armoury for his family. He eventually became known for his skills and made the hard decision to leave his family and try settle off somewhere else, somewhere where he could make money off his skills and grow to maybe even become a famous Smither in all the lands..
