You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"Oh. Umm well my name is Meira. I am a wood elf looking to explore new lands and learn more about the people who live here. A few months ago, I was working on my mothers farm when it hit me that I had never ventured to the extend that I wanted to, and after my fathers passing, mother has made it hard to even leave her sight. I was stuck with the feeling of being trapped and that I would live this way forever, so I set out to rid myself of this feeling. It took some massive persuading, but my mother understood what I was feeling. She packed me up some supplies that night along with my fathers sacred bow. It took a lot of strength to leave, but I knew it would be worth it. Ever since then I have been slowly traveling and learning more, keeping notes in my journal. I hopped a ride on a nice gentelmans horse and he dropped me off here." The old lady nodded after I finished and smiled. She spoke later that night about the joys of her small town and how it was a hidden treasure. She even offered me to spend the night in her tent. When I awoke, she had disappeared, along with her belongings. Except a small necklace with a crystal attached to it. I took that as my cue to accept it, and it fit perfectly on my neck. Standing, I took one last look at this swampy town and whispered "Thank you for your knowledge. Time to continue on."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I just tend to keep to my own abilities. I would never force anyone to do anything they didn't want to do with roleplaying. I hate how people overexaggerate their character so much, so I tend to keep my abilities and feats to the low side.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming reminds me of when someone spoils an important part of a movie for you, and I dislike that. But if i do happen to see something and its important for roleplaying but my character is not supposed to know, then I wont use it in RP because its unfair and honestly not as fun.
