You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example: Looking past the candles, but still tapping one as if in childlike amusement as I pass, I would move to where she motioned, and sitting I would begin, "My story is my own, but even if I were to tell it I am afraid it would leave you wanting. Regardless, we have business to attend to." Reaching into my bag I would pull out an orb, "As per our Agreement I have brought your payment." rolling it to her, "You could have mentioned the Skeletons, but regardless, it's your turn, give me what I want." My polite smile would drop before huffing, "Fine, fine, I grew up in a desert, my family were always talking how we came from a mighty people that tamed the land and built a great city, until it was taken, and reduced to ash, with our enemy being so cruel in their treatment that they threw salt on the land to make sure nothing and no one would ever grow or settle there again." I would close my eyes recalling the stories. "I lost my family to a raid by bandits not very long ago, then I met you and asked for your help and you sent me out to get that, whatever it is, and now, now I am here, wherever here is..."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: You avoid Power gaming by giving your character a weakness in a sense. Even if you become a King/Queen, something like greed of money, or being extremely lustful to the point of easily being lured into a trap if the conditions are right. In other words, you have to be flawed, you are not Superman by any means. Obviously, your race can help with things, but if you are a human in most cases unless employing deception of some kind you would have no busniss beating a giant in a strength contest most of the time.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming being knowledge of in game things that were obtained out of the world in any way speaks for itself, I think. That being said, it ruins Roleplay just like spoiler's ruin movies, or books. In LOTR if you knew the Rohan would ride in to save the day before even reading the book then the battle would not be as dramatic, so if you use information that you learned outside the game world in the game world and did not receive that information from a spy, or raven or something legit then it ruins the story, and drama, and all the things that we do this for I think.
