Liz Longalley is the daughter of two former Ruriksguard footmen who survived the 1662 Siege of Ruriksgard. Her parents never gave up on their dream of one day retaking their hometown, and groomed their daughter to be a soldier like them. They taught Liz basics of swords and bows, and she proved to be a talented fighter. The young family spent most of their time wandering from town to town, taking up odd jobs to make a living. All the while, they spoke of how they will one day link up with the remnants of the army and reclaim Ruriksgard.
As Liz grew older, however, she grew dissatisfied with her parents' way of life. She wanted to explore the world, not fight for the long-lost dream of some long-gone city that she had never even laid her eyes on. After much arguing and wheedling, her parents finally relented and (reluctantly) agreed to let their daughter travel on her own. And so, Liz packed up a few things and said her goodbyes, heading for nowhere in particular. Now the real adventure begins...
