    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: When you use information not obtained by your character in game. for example a friends talk to you in real life about some massive treasure he knows of. If you then use that information to find the treasure or tell others about it you are metagaming because you never knew about it in game. you learned from a outside source
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: When you role lay in a way that prevents others from having a chance to react/enjoy their own RP. A example would be always having your attacks kill, always RP'ing in a way that makes you invincible.

    Biff unlocks the door in one go. Biff try's to unlock the door. Or another example. Biff draws his bow and takes aim at the bandit leader. He lets the arrow loose sending it soaring through the forest, past the tree branches and successfully hitting the bandit leader square in the forehead

*Biff stumbles off the boat with a tinge of paleness to him looking around he quickly gets his barring as he pats holds dust off himself, relived to be off that damnable boat he starts to look around quickly becoming wide eyed at what was around him. Startled by the friendly man biff smiles while doing a slight bow "Sir! its good to meet you, adventure runs in my blood, wealth? that will hopefully be earned but my true asperations are to learn the sword and join the military." *Pausing for a moment biff continues with a beaming smile* "Now what might sir's fine name be, and mayhap this grand sir can point me in the direction of the recruiters, or at least where I can find clothes as grand as yours?"
