    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is the act of using out of character information in the hopes to gain advantage for your character.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is changing the dynamic of roleplay to a unrealistic standard and or point to where it is no longer fun / fair to other characters.

Broxigar Examines the man looking him up and down noticing that he is a well dressed sophisticated man, Broxigar get's a little nervous as he has never spoken to a man of such wealth. Broxigar replies "Good morning, I am here in search of an axe." To which Broxigar then continues "A red axe to be exact it is told to be made of a special type of red bone that is tougher then any metal could ever be."  Broxigar whispers in the mans ear "Please come follow me so we can talk about this axe somewhere private" and off walks Broxigar.
