    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Meta gaming is when a person make their character use information that they wouldn't know. For example, if xXJohnny_KingXx's character died when betrayed by __BigBoy__'s charcter, his new character killing __BigBoy__'s character on sight would be metagaming. xXJohnny_KingXx's new character would have no way of knowing or caring of his old character being betrayed.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Power gaming is when someone achieves something (mentally or physically) that is unrealistic to their character, or that makes them seem omnipotent. An example of this would be xXJohnny_KingXx, a obese halfling emoting "Larg jumps high and dropkicks the Orcs head clean off". A halfling of such statue wouldn't be able to achieve such a feat.

When Chadius leaves the boat, he looks around. He then immediately throw up off the side of the dock. As someone from Norland he isn't used to the sea. With hands on his knees and panting, he takes time to calm down. But he is interrupted and startled by a man who saw the whole thing. The gentleman starts by saying "welcome!". Embarrassed, Chadius continues to listen. The gentleman continues "What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?". Chadius straightens himself, and replies "Just came here to sight see". Chadius, still embarrassed walks away from the man hoping to evade any other conversation.
