How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: metagaming is when someone uses knowleadge they learnt from outside the game to gain an advantage within the game, for example in the sense of roleplay learning that something is going on (like a war for example) through discord, joining the game and going over to fight. even though that persons character in the game has no knowleadge or understanding of whats going on currently. so an example of someone not metagaming would be that someone gets a letter sent to them in game and then the persons in game character would then know whats going on in the world (if that makes any sense).
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: powergaming is when the player isnt being realistic within the roleplay enviroment. for example a gnome defeating an army of orcs in battle even though the orcs would be 10x the size of the gnome and easily defeat it in a actual scenario. basically just the player acting appropriately to the enviroment around them.
